I've just reinstalled Windows XP and everything is fine apart from I can't access the internet.

The internet is working fine as I'm using this laptop wirelessly from the hub but can't use it on the desktop.

I haven't got an install disc for the BB, just the hub and when I run that it is not detecting any connections.

It's BT if that makes any difference.

Conflicting IP address?

Turn your modem off at the mains. Power off your laptop. Switch both on again and then boot up computer.

Cheers guys, tried switching it off but no joy am going to look for the drivers now.

Surely though it normally automatically picks it up?

you can try this wot madasahatter suggests, but i dont switch the 2 on together. switch modem on 1st, then wait till all lights are on , then turn on desktop and wait till that loads, then laptop

Tried all the control panel type options I think it must be something to do with ethanet connections as its not detecting anything. Normally when you unplug it says so and so disconnected but I'm getting nothing.

Is there somewhere I can enable ethanet connections?

Check the driver is installed for the network card and that it is working:

Start Settings Control Panel System Hardware Device Manager Network Adapters

Does your adapter show up on there? Does it have have a (!) next to it?

Start Menu - Run

then type

cmd

then when the black window opens type

ipconfig

do you see the IP addresses you expect?
