Well I would have added Micky Flanagan but he's only been around 5 minutes and in that time he's already pretty much mainstream. But OK:
Micky Flanagan. |

Ricky Grover - Been on TV in the 11 O'Clock show as 'Buller' (hard-man prisoner) and Johnny Vaghn's sidekick in that series what he was in like.
Saw him doing stand-up at Jongleurs a while back and laughed like a drain for his entire act. Nick Wilty - standing dish on the stand up comedy circuit. Always funny and...oh I'm sorry, back to the Tommy Cooper / Peter Cook rimming session..... |

Speaking of which, I heard today there's a Pete Burns sex tape doing the rounds, anyone seen it?
By:
Minjita was class
By:
I saw a very shouty man at the Comedy Store last time, he was fkng ace. Dunno his name tho.
Steven K was hilarious at first, now has become a joke. Ironic, no? |
By:
minjita was awesome. Whatever happened to him?

Bernard Manning
By:
Saw big Bernard live in the 80s, funny guy.
By:
I was actually lying, only seen minimal of the man,
Thought he was hilarious on Mrs Merton with Richard Wilson. Keep meaning to watch some of his stuff on youtube |
By:
First thing he said when he came on the stage... 'Any darkies* in the audience? If there are you should fook off now.
It was OK to laugh at that back then. * he used a different word that I'm not even going to try to post. |
By:
did you laugh when he said it?

Even if I did, I've grown and matured since then.
Unlike some on here, no names mentioned ![]() |

Saw him a few times, two bouncers at the side of the stage one time, big black bloke, smaller white one. Bernard bantered for a few seconds with the big one about his size, and then nodded towards the white one and said, "is that yer supper?".
By:
he done jokes about everyone though!
surely he was being diverse? he was obviously white, but was he just bringing other's into the joke to make them feel involved. |
By:
I've always thought Bilko was timeless but haven't watched any for 5-6 years. It would be gut-wrenching to discover now he was hooked in time. Surely not me.
Rick and Morty interesting newcomers. |
By:
Many people used to love Arthur Askey (Hello Playmates) but Big Bernard only had 4 words to say about him... thank fook he's dead
I'm still laughing thinking about it now from over 30 years ago ![]() |

basically what we have here is the clear proof that Enoch was right.
you invite them here, give them a home, invite them to take part in your social gatherings - then you find out they can't take a ****ing joke ![]() |

Not sure I like the bloke much, but Frankie Boyle is a funny geezer.
By:
Frankie good at stand up but his sketch show was really bad.
By:
I'm fairly certain I recall Max Miller in the very early sixties on Workers' Playtime or some such mid-day radio programme where he ended his slot with "When roses are red and ready for plucking, girls of sixteen are ready for ... goodbye all". I am certain I never heard him again on radio.
By:
The cheeky chappie
By:
He died in 1963, which is probably why we never heard much more of him on the radio after the early 60s
By:
Indeed.

Kevin Bridges above average.

By:
Agree, and Reginald D Hunter.

Michael McIntyre seems to be the best of a bad bunch these days.
By:
Jimmy Carr also worthy of a mention.
By:
.. and Peter Kay
By:
I like Jimmy Carr, mincing McIntyre not for me at all.
By:
He's more of a skipper than a mincer, imo

Manning and Chubby Brown could both tell a joke but the hateful stuff in their acts shouldnt be celebrated - they wouldnt do the same acts now as they did in their heyday
Tom Stade (one of Frankie Boyles co-stars in Tramadol nights) always delivers excellent stuff Bill Burr probably the best comedian working at the moment for me |
