Not usually, ew, just today I feel lucky. Can you take out a life insurance policy with me as the benefactor, I'll pay you back tomorrow.
Report luff November 14, 2006 11:46 AM GMT
apparantly not ew - one is a translation and the other is an old english word

it is just a coincidence :)

devil,

the English translation of a Greek word (diabolos) meaning accuser or slanderer, used in the Septuagint to translate the Hebrew Satan and in the nt as a virtual synonym for the same term. In the kjv, it is also regularly employed as a translation of another Greek word (daimon), which, however, in the rsv is transliterated as demon. The idea that Satan was an angel put out of heaven because of his rebellion against God and his desire to assume the prerogatives of divinity seems to be reflected in Luke 10:18. Jesus ability to expel the demons who were Satans minions was understood to be the result of his having conquered and bound Satan (see Mark 3:27)

The word "evil"
Some non-religious people and humanists avoid using the word "evil" because they associate it with religious texts and rules and punishments, or assume that it derives from the word "devil". The word certainly crops up a lot in the Bible, but in fact it predates the first English translations of the Bible. "Evil" comes from the Old English "yfel" and has no etymological connection with the religious word "devil", which started life as the Old English word "deoful" (Concise Oxford Dictionary).

the greatest trick the devil ever pulled is convincing the world he doesnt exist

god = dog
dog=K9 or (11/9)

thus

god = dog

9/11 =11/9

therefore 9/11 = god

Spelling was never each way's strong point.

God has written all the books.

Actually god has written non of them, man wrote them all.

Evil is classed as the absence of god in Christianity, which is a manifestation of cynicism.
All of which were born out of the writings of the period 700-500BC that all works derive.

Hesiod and homer created the concept in the western sense of god, or gods and its all mythology for a reason...its all rubbish and fanciful.
The devil was a concept that was developed to enslave the living because the vast majority of humans are stupid and useless, hence the erroneous nature of religion (what god would entrust fallible man to carry the most important message?)

So no, the devil is as non existent as (the singular) god
