mtoto there is a rumour going round we are working the saturday :(

were not working it, was told that 2 months ago

ofcourse you will work saturday. the bank holiday is on monday ffs

if that is the case then your management is thicker than previously thought

we never work boxing day

redbag. was told by management both days off. there is also a precedent set last time it occured :-)

money treeee, no we don't but boxing day as a bank holiday is officially the monday this year so we get both :-)

on my calendar boxing day is a monday 28/12 ive also heard quite a good few of my friends have got to work the saturday as its not classed as a holiday ....well f@ckin wrong imo

they need a better union then :^0 ^^^^

not everyone has a union a general shop worker or sumat isnt guna have a union wouldnt be worth their while ,

the last time this occured we worked extra hours monday to thursday to gain the extra day off. ;-)

Exceptions to the universal service - local holidays

Postcomm has decided to allow exceptions to Royal Mails universal service obligation to deliver or collect mail on certain specified days. These changes take effect from October 5, 2009.

These are as follows:

* Saturday Dec 26 2009 (Boxing Day 2009) in the UK. (This is on top of the official bank holiday on Monday December 28 2009 which Royal Mail intends to observe);
