Got to back to Dell for a**ffs.
If I want to back up my data I can't do it by disc now - do I just buy a memory card and go from there?

Coincidentally this has started happening with my Dell the last day or two also-perhaps it is more sinister than t'would appear?
Report stella_artois November 9, 2009 3:10 PM GMT
restart the PC and as it reboots the light on the CDROM drive will flash twice. Press the eject button at this point.
Report Howdi November 9, 2009 3:10 PM GMT
Could be rock monkey I have an Inspiron 1700 and there is a button you press once and mines making the right noise but no eject......
Report stella_artois November 9, 2009 3:14 PM GMT
Is there no pin sized hole next to the light? a straightened paper clip usually gets em out
