Got to back to Dell for a**ffs.
If I want to back up my data I can't do it by disc now - do I just buy a memory card and go from there?

Coincidentally this has started happening with my Dell the last day or two also-perhaps it is more sinister than t'would appear?

restart the PC and as it reboots the light on the CDROM drive will flash twice. Press the eject button at this point.

if you look at the front there will almost certainly be a tiny hole, u need to stick something in it hard(while computer is off) and it releases the tray
