HOW CAN YOU DO THIS IF IT WONT BOOT UP..
By:
CATT,try what I said
By:
ALREADY TRIED THAT, THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK BUT NO GOOD :(
sorry caps |
By:
Catt the problem is its stuck in hibernation mode, take the battery out power up on mains ,pull laptop input plug out (dont use on off switch)wait a few minutes ,put battery back in ,try to boot you might get a mode screen to reset to a best known configuration
By:
cheers, ill try that..back in 2 mins
By:
no good, just the same.. zz lights still on...
By:
could this be a vista bug?????
By:
can you boot up in safe mode?
By:
This is a` common problem ,but sometimes its a tough nut to crack, leave battery in turn on as you turn on plug in mains plug, try some permutations with the mains plug, you are trying to cause an error that will bring the reset to best configuration screen up on boot I've ]seen this a few times,DONT repeately put the power plug in and out as this might trip something just now and again
By:
cant start safemode... ill try rockinhorse..
By:
ok i didnt think so. just checking cos i had a virus that gave me a black screen pretty much instantly on starting up, took me about 2 hours of trying until i finally got it to boot in safe mode.
By:
this is a real pain.....
By:
have you tried to boot into bios instead of safe mode? repeatedly press the del key on boot, once in, reset bios to default settings (look around you will see it and what key ro press)
By:
ill try that now thanks
By:
still no joy on pressing DEL key repeatidly
By:
Try f1 instead of del different on all laptops,
By:
ok
By:
f1 still no good, this is a hard one... feels like its in a coma
By:
Have you got a boot cd or a windows cd to put in the cd drive.
By:
ive got a xp cd but this is vista
By:
catt thats the perfect analogy,I dont think your laptop is cabbaged'get the right procedure to get it out of hibernation mode is what is needed I think 99%
By:
i think your right rockinhorse, just needs the right combo i think to start up but running out of ideas, how much would it cost to**? if i took it somwhere
By:
point is if you cant get into bios you wont be able to instruct the laptop to boot from cd
as Sherlock Holmes would say its a 10 pipe problem,I'll look around see if I can come up with a solve for it |
By:
I have actually had this problem ,the very same, eventually I got the revert to best configuration screen up it was a power/ battery**
By:
thank mate,
By:
There is a possible work around that might jolt it into normal mode,if the CMOS battery (internal) is removed and put back after an hour or so (maybe longer as capacitors holding charge keeping volatile memory alive)
By:
so keep the battery out for an hour ?
By:
ill take it out and put it back in later, thanks rockinhorse, ill be back on later or in the morning
By:
well your laptop main battery yes ,but there is an internal one ,a CMOS that keeps configurations, your laptop is stuck in hibernation setting, it has been known leaving a battery overnight to sort it though
By:
It is fixable m8 dont worry, its finding the**for that particular laptop,if I find anything I'll post on here ,gl
