Don't really understand the decision.
Very unlikely to get a better book of rides and if he was able to switch his status back again what had he got to lose?
I was certainly hoping he would ride Melon in the Ryanair.

drummer he would not be allowed to amateur status for 12 months, if he rode 25 winners he would not be allowed back, thats one winner a fortnight for daddy. also he s a big lad so weight would be a negative.on top of that i dont think he rides cheltenham very well. not a great record for the amount of fancied mounts he has had there.
I had heard about the 25 wins, but the information I heard was that he could return a lot quicker than 12 months. If that is correct then it makes more sense.
Of coarse he'll be there and he'll probably do a bit of fitzgeralding on one of the channels.
Chief beneficiary in his absence could be Blackmore.
said he was not going, as he would have to quarantine when he got back to ireland, and couldn't ride.
