Paul Nicholls seemed to acknowledge that First Flow is an improving horse and that Poli might have run close to his best. While I agree with him about the winner, I thought that Poli started jumping very flat and low soon after Swinley Bottom which could indicate some issue in his back but it could also have been the horses response to being challenged and outjumped. Either way, we now have 2 young pretenders in England to challenge Chacun por Soi. I still think that Notebook is the most overpriced in the ante post market.
By:
Still aint given up on Rouge Vic.
Back at Cheltenham i can see him running a big race. 25/1 is fair e/w value imo. |
By:
I didnt see anything that would worry Chacun por Soi yesterday and given he easily beat Notebook last time out at Leopardstown, it looks like this rce is his for the taking.

greened out on some of my politilogue bets and put some on nube negra rated 165 now , unexposed and impressive last time with a champion chase and arkle winner behind and not hard to think more improvement to come ,a strong traveller and won easily last time in fact had it won 2 out barring mishapsimo ,will be 6 pound worse with altior in the champion and has chacan to deal with among others but on the up and one who could still be on the bridle coming to the last ,been looked at as a soft finisher in the past and most of his best form on flat tracks but was 3rd in the fred winter when fav in 2019 so has course form and saw it well last time 12/1 each way billies is fair imo.

Cash out and go each way henrys
By:
just watched nube negras last win he had it won 3 out barring mishaps, a decent jumper of a fence .getting the urge to go in again .
By:
which one of henrys irish ?
By:
Good shout Foyles, only 5 possible winners. CPS, Altior, Nube, Politologue and First Flow.
Only one likely winner CPS. |
By:
yeah hibore chacan the one to beat on ratings and what we have seen so far but we dont know if chelt will suit ,i suspect he will be fine tho ,nuba and chacan both strong travellers both lightly raced and both possibly open to more improvement at the prices nubra appeals more to me ,first flow also on the up and could be more to come .
By:
Ptko e w still a good bet 14\1 nrnb

Yes Foyles, both Nube and First Flow are both on the rise and now boast 165/166 ratings but look like could nudge closer to the magic 170+ needed to win the majority of Champion chases. CPS 174 to me looks the real deal and add in Altior and Politologue both around 170 and you have got yourself a race.
Rouge Vif seemed to improve considerably first time up when bolting in off 156 on good ground and is now 163. He’s the best long shot @25/1 if the ground isn’t too bad. The others Greenateen 161 Pull the other one 154 and Fakir D 161 need to find a stone from somewhere and should perhaps turn their attention to the handicaps. |
By:
Pi55 off you clueless lump
Putting up 5 for the race ! Beats your 4 for last years gold cup She gets half a stone allowance She loves the track .....got C&D form And will be running and jumping for fun Not just running like last time out |
By:
I didn’t realise that she was losing badly on purpose last time. Chancun made her look like a selling plater.
155 is her best ever rating at Cheltenham + 7lbs = 162. That’s Greenateen no better. Maybe they have been cheating like Byrne ? 155 for an Arkle winner is incredibly poor. Backing sentiment is a mugs game. |

Backing sentiment is a mugs game?As Charlie chan would say "Learning all the time"

He is definitely learning !
Go and watch that race einstein ...... |
By:
It is a pity he is so r4cist really, like impossible. Totally ignored put the kettle on for the arkle last year , never even considered her, put up three as I recall glen forsa, mengli khan and kalashnikov months in advance of the event and guess what .....none of them ran in the race !

"Made her look like a selling plater "....really ?
What !..... A three time cheltenham winner from Ireland ..... ? 0r more like a 3k Southwell bumper winner ! Know which syndicate I would rather be in ! |

" Maybe they have been cheating like Byrne ? " Says the geyser,a liar, who is allegedly in a syndicate with horses trained by the biggest cheat of all time ... Cheating her majesty ....well I never ! "Henderson fined and banned for three months Nicky Henderson has been fined £40,000 and is unable to make entries for three months over the Moonlit Path case. The leading National Hunt trainer was last Monday found guilty of using a prohibited substance to improve the performance of The Queen's mare at Huntingdon in February. Henderson attended a personal hearing on Thursday evening, when pleas of mitigation were entered to a British Horseracing Authority panel, and learned of his punishment on Friday morning. The 58-year-old handler faced a possible disqualification from the training ranks, but will instead be unable to run any of his horses from July 11 to October 10. He has also been hit with a record fine imposed on any British trainer. Moonlit Path finished sixth in the TurfTV Mares' Novices' Hurdle on February 19, after which she tested positive for tranexamic acid, an anti-bleeding drug, which contravened BHA Rule 200. The race was won by stablemate Ravello Bay. " |

duffy, buddeleia, harry callaghan or anyone else who has an opinion ! what did you think of nubra negra at kempton ? what am i missing here ? absolutly pisshes up in a grade 2 and one of only 2 horses to beat a dual champ chase winner in altior over fences , very rarely do you see a graded race winner having the race won from before 3 out barring mishaps ,he hosed up ! i would advise anyone to watch the race again, it was if not a fluke a sensational performance and although i am not a time guru the time looked good ,did all his opponents underperform and make him look good ? i go by my eyes and to me it was a very good performance in a race of that class , maybe altior has rapidly regressed ,i am wrong more than i am right and possibly wrong here but i have gone in balls deep each way on this fella and will continue to ,anyone give me good reasons not to? thank you .
By:
strictly on the book, that was some turn around
with Rouge Vif,who thumped him @Warwick.Ground could be an excuse for that one though.Trainer always stated wants better ground. If you're on a big prices GL.Nubra Negra was the 5/4 fav for that race, might not have fired. |

Foyles,
Interesting when Nick Luck had Skelton on his daily podcast last week https://player.fm/series/nick-luck-daily-podcast/ep-158-are-too-many-champions-in-too-few-hands Go to 19 minutes 25 secs onwards, it'll fill you with plenty of cheer, just a taster, he is confident he has the fastest horse in the race!!! |
By:
thanks duffy will watch it,harry s didnt seem too unhappy about getting off the current champ for this fella !
By:
Foyles,
It's his daily podcast not the show on RUK mind. that link above is the episode in question. |
By:
Altior was giving him 6LB @Kempton and is
shorter in the market. Not saying Altior is gone but the winner would have beat him at levels,to me anyway.Altior has got the form in the book but he was beaten easily that day. think these 2 are the wrong way round, just my view. |
By:
We all know, well suspect anyway that not all the shorties will go in, if I had to pick my one to get beat it would be CPS.
By:
cheers duffy yes just heard the podcast ,my thinking is that if chacan had done what nubre did to altior the media would be hailing him a world beater (he may be)and he may do that to altior and the rest in the champ but to me he has a race on his hands nubre is a serious contender on that showing and at 12/1 i will keep hammering away !
By:
so far the only big one to elude Mullins here,
this race. |
By:
Chacon is a fragile horse
He impressed me in the ryanair novices But he was with Willie two years before he ran He can beat the field on paper ....but an abcess stopped him.last year Having travelled all that way Jumping isn't 100% Not an odds on shot imvho |
By:
The undulations, a long busting race and although he was good last time after the last, I wonder if he will be again with those added ingredients to deal with.
I can see him floundering late on, I can see an image of him drunk on the run in...perhaps I'm drunk ![]() |
By:
lets hope they all get there should be a cracker ,politi, first flow, making it and the closers in touch ready to pounce ,whats not ta !
By:
I cannot have Altior given the signs of last season. It's time for a new champion. First Flow?
By:
I was impressed with first flow ,
By:
Hello Foyles
I was not that impressed with the race to be honest. Altior was nothing like the horse he has been and i cannot sadly see him ever getting back now, hope I am wrong. Shishkin would have P1ssed that race had he been in it I feel. The one I would be on each way if ground was good/soft or better would be Rouge Vic, he hated that ground. Nube Negra may run a good race if ground is soft , but I don’t think the Kempton race was ChampionnChase class. However, after all that, take the fav out it’s wide open, and I don’t think he’s as solid as his price suggests. |
By:
Previous Course Form – 12/12 winners had at least 1 previous run at Cheltenham
Chacon never run there First flow didnt enjoy his supreme 2018 but at least has a run |

ExcitedLaughLaughLaughLaugh A most astonishing post. Racist against a horse for being Irish when I’ve put up CPS ![]() Then to make such a colossal **** up when trying to be a smartarse is a gift that will keep on giving. What you posted is also a lie...so your now a liar using your own criteria. I’m calling a truce if you agree. Otherwise I’ll just report any future attempted cyber bullying as this bores me immensely. Can we get back to discussing the horses. Do you agree Foyles, Duff, budd, imp and co ? |
By:
Absolutely Hibore, it’s why I come on here.
By:
I would supplement Allmankind for this one as I think the Arkle is the tougher option of the two. It wouldn’t matter to Allmankind which race he is in. The uncomplicated tactics and his race time would be the same. If the Skeltons stick with Nube Negra as sole contender in the QM I’d back that one at the prices as I don’t think CPS jumping will be good around Cheltenham, though I don’t envisage him toiling up the hill.

By:
Good call that imo.
