Been thinking Apples all winter but now the time has come I got a strong hat trick feeling for the champ. Amazing value at the moment

Free money bet as yer can get out in running as he will be tanking coming to 2nd last .

Yes, 3.9 for BD is an excellent staring point for in-running, and free money/bet almost assured, all things being equal; Laurina will probably trade bigger than the present 4.7 on offer, I believe.

Would not be confident at all of that free in-running bet on BD. Don't be surprised if its all  AJ bar a fall from 3 out. She won't be coming back to them

bvd wins this easy . to have the class to win it twice already and be a bull , his strength will power over the ground

I hope Punchestown (2m) next for a retriever mission as to fall 1st time in his career on the biggest race of the year deserves another chance to prove he's still the best. Let's hope AJ and Laurina and most of today's field turn up too.

A bad day all round: Lalor was pulled-up due to the ground; Kalashnikov brought down in the same race; Buveur D'Ar fell for the 1st time. Could it get any worse tomorrow with Champ/Battleoverdoyen and Delta Work/Santini?

forgot to add if he gets there!!!

Would have been interesting  if he had stood up and how Walsh would have dealt with taking a 3rd champion hurdle away from the dual champion.

On reflection one could say it was coming given the disrespect he gave to one hurdle at Kempton. Let hope money back next time after demolishing several of my accas. If there was a consolation (don't mean to be disrespectful to supporters of Laurina) I think we knew she'd be confined to the Mares (again) post today.

Imp 123, got out of jail with Rachel, beware delta, elliot stable had a best placed 3rd 2day, I very rarely lay but have on him and the national winner.

I understand Elliot's had an off-day. I'd Battleoverdoyen (20/1) and Santini (4/1) anteposts with the other two as savers (hopefully). And after today I hope it does not get any worse - here's hoping.

Short memories lads

Last year his best was a 3rd on the Tuesday

Wednesday he had 3 winners
Thursday he had 3 winners
But could only manage 2 on the Friday

He could be going for the Punchestown Champion Hurdle against Melon, Apples Jade and others perhaps. I think the Aintree Hurdle over 20f on soft ground was too stamina sapping. If so, could be value, and payback time perhaps.

A step closer for him to making his 1st appearance at the Punchestown Festival; he's been given an entry with the meeting in May instead of April (proximity to Aintree). If showing no ill-effect from Aintree in a fortnight's time, and weather is ok it could be game on against Faugheen, Melon, Supersundae, Samcro, Laurina etc - he needs to redeem his tarnished reputation; Kemboy could also cross sword with Al Boum Photo in the Punchestown Gold Cup.

Let's hope the above materialise, and I could make my 1st couple of bets at this meeting for a very long while.

That was a pretty gruelling race at Aintree, and i would be quiet happy to see him finished now for the season.
Thought he ran a fair race to be honest in those conditions and no disgrace getting beat by Supasundae who is a very strong stayer at that distance.

Next season we will find out if his owner has a better one.......i suspect he has, and we may have already found out,but we cannot know what would have happened had BD not fallen, so i will wait till next season to find out for sure.

I believe his stamina was stretched to breaking point at Aintree, but I hope he goes to Punchestown to exert and confirm his superiority over 2m. He's had a torrid prep running in races he ought not to eg Kempton (ground too firm), and falling at Cheltenham; nothing to fear from Supersundae, Apples Jade, Melon, etc, at Punchestown, I believe.

A redemption on friday at Punchestown; 15/8 against Laurina and Company - no Apple's Jade, I believe. M Walsh could deputise again as Geraghty is still out with a broken leg. And, the ground is yielding.

He's 13/8, but Laurina has chickened out to the Mares Champion, and possibly Apple's Jade (6/1) too. This race is Buveur D'Air's for the taking if Aintree has not taken its toll, I believe.

Only a convincing win tomorrow will do otherwise, any lingering hope of regaining his crown next year will be pie in the sky. My main worry is his exertion at Aintree, but Hendo is pleased with him.

Great to see him back winning again.
Ok,not great opposition in terms of Champion Hurdle, but still very pleasing.
Look forward now to see if he can regain his crown.

His jumping is a real issue now though, barely gets over them, you'd be watching from behind the sofa come next March.

This beast is reappearing for the 1st time after that freak incident on the racecourse; 5/4 each with Song For Someone in the New One Hurdle sponsored by his trainer's media paymaster.

After Hendo reminding everyone not to overlook Buveur D'Air in the Champion Hurdle the beast will wait for Aintree instead as a longer distance would suit him better. Another trainer's words not worth paying any attention to.

A strange decision bypassing the Champion Hurdle for the Aintree Hurdle. Now his stablemate Epatante has drifted out to 5.5 from about 5 just a couple of days ago. She was 6/4 prior to her x'mas eclipse. A no concerned drift?
