I wasn't overly worried about Bloody Mary either tbh. But just dont know how much Smart Talk could keep improving. Wouldnt want her eyeballing Limini coming off the final bend myself Plain

Limini might be tailed off coming round the bend, hitting every hurdle, only jesting but I don't think anything would want to get into a battle with bloody mary

In her last race she jumped 2 moderately and one very badly, a bit like Faugheen at the last the other sunday, i think she'll jump better going a better pace on better ground, the only thing ive seen able to beat her so far will be foot and mouth.

Limini IS a dodgy jumper but she will still win head in chest - engine just too big for regular Mares. Her prep race showed you that - and that was on poor ground and 75% fit!

Tom Segal has nominated Bloody Mary as his novice hurdle bet of the festival.

This! I've not watched all the mares races and I've no idea how good Limini is but neither do a lot of the people who want to back her at evens!

Smart Talk looked like she had a massive engine at Doncaster where she missed all of the last three hurdles (so there would have to be a concern about her jumping too). Her form is very progressive and I read her trainer had said she's put on 4kg since Doncaster. Downside apart from her jumping is that I think they were considering the other mares' race if AP does n't run.

Not even saying she'll win but she looks raw and tough - anything that beats her will know they've been in a race.

Praying they go for the big one now Rease! As you said, that's what the trainer said.... And they may think that's almost as easy to win as this with all the hype surrounding Limini.

Anyone know what the race conditions are for this one i.e weight for age allowance for 4yo's?

Ruby walsh was just saying at the  preview night that limini was sick when she ran at punchestown

by sounds of it they expect this to win by half the track!

Mullins prefers Myska in that race. I know it ran a stinker last time out but during that period a lot ran poor. Mullins prefers Myska

Bloody Mary time at Taunton was well slow imo and it just about won getting weight off the 2nd, looks as though it wants a bit of cut and she didnt look that quick to me, got to be a better novice bet than that mr segal surely ?

If Bloody Mary beat Limini id have to give the game up from what ive seen.

I hope she wins, smart talk the big danger and sets a fair bench mark. Have to say as it sits I think limini is underpriced and smart talk over priced. So I'm going to have a small ew saver on smart talk.

Still no idea how good limini is, bloody mary was a pretty tough horse.
I wouldn't have thought she'd be as good as annie or vroum vroum but it's also hard to think that was only her  3rd start over hurdles, they must have had her very well schooled because her technique has improved massively. Aparrently she's targeting ascot on the flat. Have mixed feelings about that, as a fan of the jumps fame.

Thank christ i got one right lads, Limini saved me at 5/2 and 3/1 after the Min debacle, didnt she jump like a bunny the good thing going a better clip on better ground - go on ya good thing Grin

Doesn't look like a jumper at all. This was the easiest winner of the week.

Really ff? I thought she was pretty slick for most of it. Especially considering how bad she was on her hurdling debut compared to this. Still only her third go!

She jumped like Bugs Bunny, she could of missed 6 of the flights and still won with her head in her chest !

Following Jers Girl's really impressive performance yesterday over 2m4f, and with two excellent Mares in the triumph in Apples Jade and Lets Dance, Limini won't have everything her own way at next year's festival.

For once, we might actually get a decent renewal.

FWIW, I think the form of the four year olds is far superior to anything Limini has done.  Even with VVM and Annie unlikely to run in it next year, 5/2 on Limini is very poor imo.
By:

Limini dosent have to worry about let's dance chief, as unless she takes a grade 1 at punchestown, she will be coming back for the mares novice at the festival.
I'd be shocked if they diddnt retain her novice status for next  season, but im holding fire at 7s until I know she's retained it.
Karalee however may be pretty good, and end up in the mares hurdle instead of limini.
I wouldn't back limini for the mares as if she bolts up on the flat like max dynamite, we may not see her over hurdles again for some time.

Didn't realise Lets Dance was still a novice.  I suppose her and Limini will be kept apart anyway.

I can't imagine that the Mares Novice Hurdle will ever be a race I have a bet on to be honest.  I was there on the Thursday this year, and I had a bet in each race apart from that.

Pointless.  Should just let the novices run in the normal mares, but give them a weight allowance or something.

Agree with scooby regarding Limini, can visualise a flat campaign starting in Chester and ending in Melbourne - but I can't find an official flat rating for her in UK or Ireland, unless anybody knows differently?

Presumably she'll get one when they make an entry? She'd need to be at least 90 to get in the Chester Cup based on the last three years.

I suppose they could wait for Royal Ascot but she might have a fitness advantage if they went for the Chester Cup - if they wait until Royal Ascot, they could for the Ascot Stakes on the Tuesday or the Queen Alexandra on the Saturday or even both!

Probably getting ahead of myself, but pretty sure we will see her on flat as Ruby said unprompted in an RUK interview how well handicapped she was - I assume he must have been basing that on her flat RPR though.

Agree with scooby too and will be leaving Limini well alone. She has so many options and her price is already terrible.

I disagree on the other bit though scooby. Assuming RR wants to target the Mares Novice and the Mares Hurdle, surely Karalee would be the most likely for the Novices race, seeing how she is so inexperienced and missed the whole season with injury, and Let's Dance would be the more likely for the Mares Hurdle? She has much more experience now, even though she is a year younger? Obviously you have VVM to throw into the equation too which makes it tough to guess, but I'd be surprised if Karalee was pitched into the big girls race on her first visit to the Festival.

Im gutted Karalee isnt in the betting for the Novice Race as would definitely be backing her if she was.

Karalee won in May 15 so I'm sure she won't be a novice next season. I initially thought the same about her.

As for Limini's hcap mark, Ruby mentioned off 89 she could go to Ascot well handicapped.

Have to agree about the views on the mares novice race in general, it's just another Mullins benefit pot isn't it really? Of course all the Mullins bootlickers will tell you it's the best thing since sliced bread and so good for racing though. The bumper has plenty of critics but at least there's some kind of point to it.

Could you imagine the state of the festival if it did go to 5 days? A mares novice chase, a staying hurdle dedicated to chestnut horses. It'd be mad.

yep, I heard same but as far as I can see 89 is her RPR as opposed to an official handicap mark.
