Kings Palace surely has no chance. Likes to dominate small fields of grade 2 or 3 calibre opponents. Folded quickly when the going go tough in Albert Bartlett last year. No doubting but the same will happen again against a big field of top class opponents. Plus he will be taken on upfront by Coneygree, who looks to have far stronger claims.. Place lay..
By:
I would lay The New One. Doesnt jump, not fast enough. As I said before could have made a good chaser.
By:
im not sure kings palace has no chance.
By:
I agree howdi - but I can understand the concern after he bombed last year. He also faces some pretty extrordinary opposition this year if TYM, Don P & Coneygree all take their chance
By:
Ok I accept every horse has a chance but in terms of his price reflecting his chance, he represents desperate value. Beaten a total of 8 opponents to date over jumps, will be double that in the RSA. It is a very demanding, often messy race totally at odds with the leisurely cruises he has had to date. He will get taken on upfront and i think will down tools when unable to dominate, just like last year when he was legless coming up the hill.
Just an opinion, of course I could be wrong..! |
By:
TNO not quick enough? Would of beat the 'slow' MTOY at Kempton if he hadn't crashed through the last, his jumping only slight concern.
Agree with Kings Palace, place lay. |

to call the new one slow

Funnily enough, no one willing to take Douvan on...

Don Poli for me.

might take on Peace and Co

By:
Douvan over-hyped bridle ponce.
By:
Definitely DOUVAN for me. The Supreme Novices is a short priced favourites graveyard. No disrespect to Douvan but its the race conditions and lack of experience of the runners that make this one tough to be short priced and come out ahead.
By:
Oops Don Poli is my banker win for festival. misread title thread. Sprinter Sacre lay for me.

Douvan over-hyped bridle ponce So where are all these fancy prices from you would be layers - not even any 2/1 on here! |
By:
The Supreme looks to be seriously lacking in depth and quality compared to other years. I agree Douvan has done nothing to be as short as he is but when you look at the opponents, bar Lami Serge they look a very muddling bunch compared to other years. For that reason i would be reluctant to take him on.
By:
I've rarely known such confidence from the stable either. I definitely wouldn't take him on.
By:
Me neither - but I will be eagle eyed for any value put up by the doubters
By:
From what I've read, Badcrooks are doing one of their push specials on Douvan at some point over next week....prob 4/1 for £25 or something....I've got no strong opinion on him either way.
My lay is Conti - I'd rather be with Einstein than Nicholls. Why will this yr be any different? I'd rather have past festival winners such as Holywell & LW along with potential of RTR, Djak & CL in my corner. I'll lay 3/1 all day |
