they hadn't done any work with him after the King George but the lameness showed up when they started to build him back up so he had very little chance to injure himself after the race so in all probability he did it in the race
they thought it was muscular as the lameness was intermittent but it turns out it was a stress fracture , confirmed by a scan, and you don't get stress fractures doing light work and walking highly probable it happened in the race and that is why he stopped... he never stopped in any other race when hitting the front and going clear |
By:
that does make sense but you would had thought they would had known earlier
By:
and it is not 3 months you moron, the race was 26th December which is was only 2 months from when they announced his withdrawal and they gave him a month off, then he was lame when they started work and they hoped he would come right but he didn't. The stress fracture was revealed earlier this week
you should engage brain before posting crap like "not sure a horse can not show a sign of a cracked pelvis for 3 months imho." it's still not 3 months now ffs |
By:
please dont ruin this fred with uncontrollable temper, judo.
this a forum, so i put 3 months ffs. it happened over 2 months ago. |
By:
judo
I love you but some of your reactions are a tad dramatic |

think this horse has to be taken seriously he looks to have been underestimated and from being a horse aimed at the national he is now being pitched in with the big boys and I belive he has a realistic chance of putting it up to the likes of silviniarco conte, bobs worth and co ,seems to have improved a ton from last season and may be he has come of age ,won the hennesey and has also won a big field race at aintree . supposedly wont be suited by the undulations of Cheltenham but if that were the case why would hendo and co send him there ? I think they belive he has a major chance and still a decent price at around 14-16/1 can see him in single figuers by race day must and he is open to any amount of improvement and is one who has not shown his hand yet .have him at big prices and going in again ... selection triolo daleen 1 point each way nrnb 14/1 or better .
By:
He has been putting Bobs Worth in his place in training.
Wouldn't put too much emphasis on that, BW a notoriously lazy horse at home |
By:
I think he won a poor hennessy tbh, beat Rocky creek 2 3/4 lenghts recieving 4lb with Theatre guide another 1 1/2 lenghts back in 3rd giving 2lb, not a vintage hennessy by any means.
By:
I really can't have Triolo d'Alene
By:
yeah you are right about not a vintage hennesey but when a horse is improving who knows where it will stop ? only 7 and on an upward curve ,he may not beat bobs worth who is obviously the stand out here but his price does not interest me , triolo stays well and is a tasty price and as I said before could progress a whole heap more ! looking at the field bar the front 2 last instalment may not line up if the gong is not suitable ,if first lieutenant takes his chance he finds winning difficult ,captain chris better right handed and may not fully get the trip .
By:
And he loves good ground.
By:
aye ibrahima drying ground will be right up his street and can see him running a huge race !
By:
I agree, this has got single figures written all over it as there looks to be a lot of weakness in the market above it and we know it stays and likes the ground.
By:
Ap on t43
By:
If Triolo goes off at single figures I'd be amazed, he does not have any form in the book to say he should.
There are at least six horses with graded or course form better than him. |
By:
We will see, but Bos Worth apart, Conti will drift on the ground, LI will not run, Captain Chris has left handed problems,FL not a likely winner if it runs, The Giant Bolster is not particularly sexy and the rest are rags. Triolo may well gather some momentum in the market!! Not saying it is the likely winner but not impossible imo.
By:
he has to defy a whole host of trends that he misses so will be a major feat if he wins
By:
Who is riding? It has been rumoured connections decided against booking AP.
By:
I'd like to see Carberry get the leg up myself, someone who can sit quiet.
By:
Could hardly see him swinging on the bridle as they turn in. Not impossible he'll improve from hennessey but has to improve a lot just to place IMO.
By:
As @Lion King says, there are doubts around all the runners so it is not outside the bounds of possibility that Triolo can at least place in a bad year but all his form is (a) at a lower level than a normal Gold Cup, and (b) at flat, galloping tracks like, erm, Aintree.
By:
For Triolo to be the same price as First Lieutenant is laughable
By:
Tinkler supposedly riding
By:
into third best on here ! momentum is building !
By:
Be pushed back out surely as week goes on
By:
any ideas as to who could get the leg up on triolo ?, !
By:
As soon as they said this fella was running (Triolo) my spider sense was telling me that it must be training something comparable to Bob - so either this thing is flying or Bob has regressed. As I can't see it being as good as Bob on last years run I suggest this years Bob may not be 'all that' this time around.
This has led me to conclude there will be no winner of this years race - something will scrape 3rd but that's all. ![]() |
By:
By all accounts I think Bob is notoriously lazy. Just comes alive on track especially at Cheltenham
By:
Read on Twitter - AP to ride.
By:
thought ap was on t43 ?
By:
just seen on another forum ap rides !any confirmation ?
By:
Nothing confirmed yet, just plenty rumours on twitter etc.
Only thing I have heard official is that Hendo expects the rider to come from in-house. |
By:
AP rides but surely this horse has plenty to find?
Ran at Cheltenham twice and beat 29l by Hunt Ball in a handicap then PU in the Paddy Power. 12/1?? |
By:
2nd & 4th runs in britain when aged only 5, it looks like he has improved since then.
By:
Needs to find a stone to win this.
By:
confirmed now by trainer, AP rides.
By:
Captain Chris out, this is turning into a very weak gold cup.

I think someone says that every year. |
