lovely morning, sun shining ,ground drying out and the festival is nearly upon us , and most of the firms are doing nrnb so its good news for all. the 3 horses for the multiple have been selected and rogerthebutler is working on the handicap plunge ,hopefully we will have a good few more joining in , as said in earlier posts keep stakes to what you are comfortable with no need to go crazy as the selections will be decent prices and lets treat it as first and foremost a bit of fun and if we happen to srike lucky then that would be the icing on the cake . its looking likely that Saturday afternoon will be the day to put the plan in action ,I will keep all informed and put out a call on Friday night on this and the horses forum as reminders . as a poster said earlier why should barney and his mob have all the fun , still plenty of room for more participants .............lets get it on !

Okay, the handicap plunge.
This will be on the Baylis & Harding Affordable Luxury Handicap Chase on Tuesday, basically because I'll be down at Cheltenham next week and any races later in the week, whilst receiving a thorough form analysis by me, will be difficult to organise a 'plunge' on on here as we're all likely to be everywhere and unable to hit at roughly the same time. Also, we might get a bit of publicity early on in the week too - and that's 90% of what this is all about isn't it? The other 10% is if we win. ![]() I looked at this race for about four hours last night. Trends, breeding for the key protagonists, speed figures, collateral form and of course. the all important price (albeit in a very unformed market at present) - the works, so whatever I come up with, rest assured it'll have had plenty of thought behind it and won't be a pinsticking exercise. The b1tch here is that plenty are double booked for this race and the Kim Muir later in the week, so my plan is to wait until the final decs are out. Hopefully one of my shortlist of 2 will be declared (if both are, then I'll go with the longest priced one) and will post up on here as soon after that as possible. I hope this all makes sense and, whilst you may not agree with the selection when it comes, will appreciate the need for discipline in us all backing it (to whatever stakes we like) and that it will definitely NOT have been a random guess! Cheers everyone |

morning rog ,same here for the multiple! have thought long and hard, and as rog says the selections were not just plucked out of the air but through form trends stats and price etc ,just waiting for the decs and confirmation of 1 or 2 who may be doubly booked .
By:
Were you at the Betfair preview night last night Rog?

Just to clarify.
Final decs for this race are Monday 10th at 10.00 a.m. I imagine they will be online somewhere (I tend to use the Sporting Life website as the Oracle here)shortly after that. I will be somewhere between here and Cheltenham so will find an Internet Cafe and post up the selection sometime between 11.00 and Noon. |

That handicap is the one just before the champ hdl is it not? If so, i thought that race was a very good race for general punters with a lot of winners and placed horses coming from near to the head of the market very often.
Will the multi selections be posted on here about the same time (between 11am and 12 noon) Foyles ![]() |

On Monday

I am away on the weekend, so personally would prefer if the lot were posted Monday but some people may be at work and prefer the Saturday (at least for the multi).
For Monday I will quite happily post it up roger if you want to text me it if I send you my number - if it's easier than going to an internet café etc. Up to you, if you are going to an internet café to look at other things will leave it up to you. |
By:
That last bit should mean "if you are going to look at other things - racing wise"!! Could easily be taken out of context!!
By:
This is going to be quality.
Cheers for the effort in selecting the horses lads. |
By:
SEATHESTARS i think the multi selections will be put up Saturday afternoon as on Monday some people will be at work or travelling to the festival ,someone suggested Saturday just before the imperial cup sounds good but will sort out exact time by Friday and hopefully the plunge time will be suitable for all .
By:
Cheers for the offer magic - I got your meaning first time but you know me too well!
![]() I should be okay as I'm going to be in that there London Monday a.m. so an Internet cafe looks a viable option. |

tomorrow is the day lads ,think it will be for between 3,0 clock and 5 past 3 ,I will put em up about 10 mins to 3 and that will give us 10 mins to strike the bets ,what I would advise is to have a betting slip ready and make your mind up before how you are going to play I personally am going singles doubles and a bigger each way treble to modest stakes ,good luck ,I will post reminders tomorrow morning good luck all .
By:
So just to clarify, at 2.50(ish) you're putting up 3 horses?
By:
yeah marychain .they wont be everybodys taste (impossible to all fancy the same ) but rest assured they have been selected by serious study using form ,stats ,trends ,and watching videos of reruns of trials etc , message to all keep stakes to what you are comfortable with the prices are decent so no need to break the bank .good luck all who play .

Cheers Foyles will keep an eye out, good luck all

By:
Yeah, great work to the guys organising this. Can't wait, should be a great laugh, win, lose or draw with the bookies.
By:
Just a thought but would it not be better if we all backed with the same bookie who would the start laying it off with another bookie and so on rather than across the boards where it is less likely to be noticed
By:
It's not going to work Andy. Too many people can't get on with too many bookies. It also increases the chance of individuals getting
knocked back when the bookie realises that there's a huge coup going down ![]() |
By:
Oh well just a thought
I guess most people will use oddschecker bet basket and end up with same bookie anyways or join new ones to use free bet offers to save cash |
By:
morning lads the day has arrived for the multiple lets hope everything runs smoothly as said earlier I will put the selections up on this thread at 2.50 this afternoon that will give all participants 10 mins to strike ,,3 o clock being the agreed plunge time, take the prices and only stake what you are comfortable with the prices are decent so no need to go overboard , I am placing mine in the shops and recommend that being the way forward . ..............
By:
Morning Foyles, and appreciate all the effort mate.
Many thanks. |
By:
An indiscreet word in the shops could start a landslide alas no UK bookies where I live so will have to be done online
By:
Good Morning Foyles, Thanks for doing this, just some admin suggestions here, I suspect a few will be like me and having non racing spouses reading this thread relaying the info via phone so clarity is the key, I would suggest posting in bold
Horse Name -- Race Name -- Day ---Time Horse Name -- Race Name -- Day ---Time Horse Name -- Race Name -- Day ---Time I know you probably have this all in hand and thought out but the less that Mrs TS has to interpret the better ![]() ![]() |
