was attempt at humour foyles :) on a serious note though when the plunge is complete are we looking to trade off or let it ride ?

well if we were to get the 1st 2 winners it would be insane not to trade off a lump on here on the last one ,but lets worry about trading off when and if we get that far , as someone on here said why should barney and co have all the fun , if we can get plenty of participants and all follow the plan we may make an impression on the books and cause a bit of a stir and if we were to pull it off then what a crack that would be

2 for the pipe conditionals race so far. Most interesting one is full shift at 33s now 20s which is still large.
entered up when they would have known it wasn't getting anywhere near off a mark of 124. went in nicely over the weekend and has probably ran to 132-133 which should get him in off a featherweight. Last year it was a 131 lowest weight and a few 132 so should be fine. Still young and henderson stated in the autumn he excites him. He wouldn't think that of a low 130 horse. Should be plenty left and if he lines up he'll end up single figures I reckon as an obvious JP plot. Next is dolatulo who is 25/1 and could even get bigger for a small yard and may fly in under the radar. Placed and won in a couple of handicap hurdles and has been kept to a chase and a jumpers bumper since solely to protect the mark. Gavin sheehan got the nod ages ago and has been a target for a while. Apparently was the blinkers back on that made all the difference and wasn't worn before since his days in france as a youngster. Still only rated 4 higher than back then so no reason why he can't go on again if blinkers are essential now tackling a little further. |

less than 2 weeks to start of festival and a fair amount willing to join the plunges ,we still need as many as possible and I would advise all participants to keep updated on the thread just to keep up with events .

welcolme ramp and price a unlimited space available the more the merrier ,remember to pop onto this thread for updates ! especially in the week leading up to the start of the festival ..........must be close to 200 on board so far!,need more expect it to hot up next week .............looks like we got ourselves a convoy !

I know what you mean gmac but everyone will have different views and we will end up with about 80 different selections and god knows how we will sort it ,I offered to put up 1or 2 selections based on form, stats, trends, and at half decent prices ,if anyone wants to stick one or 2 up then no probs !

I've got another one lined up but my original selection was MIDNIGHT APPEAL in the Tuesday 3 mile Handicap Chase. A brilliant pipe-opener at Kempton a month ago (second and ran very well), cracking form in the book against Welsh National winner Mountainous at Bangor and trained by Alan King who has won this with Fork Lightning and Bensalem in recent years. What could possibly go wrong? Well King ran him again in the Racing Post Chase last weekend where he suffered a 'Choc Thornton Special', knackering him for any chance at Cheltenham, confirmed by King in this weeks Weekender that he's heading for The Scottish National (probably won't stay that trip IMO). Course I came heare gobbing off about how I'd found 'the' handicap horse for the Festival, and whilst theres another that looks interesting in the Coral Cup at a working man's price, I'll be a bit more circumspect now. |

So there is one single handicap plunge horse and one multi to be played any which way we like?
We need to know the set time and date of this being posted too. Cos we all know bookies do read these forums which is why i posted on here a while back about a private facebook page. Anyways, lets just hope they dont react in the same way as they do with a Hugh Taylor tip eh guys once it is live Though tbh, i do think this will go unnoticed, a few forumites placing tenners and twenties on 3 horses at the same time, hardly gonna get noticed within the strongest betting meeting markets known to man! Hope i am wrong though as it be worth it to watch! |

The multiple bets will have no effect on the markets. People are going around outing daft multiples on everything on the run up to the Festival. Backing a single long shot for one of the handicaps will be far more noticeable, especially if we get a good group doing it.

I was going to suggest timing just before the off time for Imperial Cup (or perhaps during the race)
OR during the Morning Line if thats not too early in the day for folk someone may well have a better idea |

They certainly wont notice or care about a relatively few combination bets for the festival would agree that about five minutes before the Imperial cup would be a good time for the single as that one is more likely to ring bells..
