As will The New One according to statistics.

18 of last 19 Champion Hurdle winners ran in same calendar year I believe?

I wouldn't say he'd have no chance, but its definitely a negative. I believe he's entered at Kelso later this week, so hopefully they get a bit of dry weather and he takes his chance.

From the racing post website:

KELSO
Good to soft, soft in places
Dry, overcast and breezy week expected

There must be a good chance MTOY will run if the forecast is accurate.
By:

And an even better chance that Melodic Rendezvous doesn't go - which is a shame, because I reckon he had the beating of MTOY on heavy ground

FOYLESWAR

they are all beatable look at the betting theres no stand out horse if there was it would be a clear short priced fav ,the top half dozen are very closely matched ,can jezki win ? of course he can ! do I think he will ?probably not I think a few others may finish in front of him ! but to say he has no chance is ridiculous  is his trainer sending him there for the day out ?imo.he goes there with a fair each way  chance .

spot on really. I believe he can but for anyone to say they are certain he wont place is ridiculous.

Exciting Un De Sceaux set for rise in class

By Tony O'Hehir 3:57PM 10 FEB 2014

UN DE SCEAUX could face three Cheltenham Festival winners when he puts his unbeaten record on the line in the Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran Park on Saturday.

A top-priced 14-1 for the Stan James Champion Hurdle, Un De Sceaux, a wide-margin winner of three-runner races on his two starts this season, is one of 11 entries for the 2m Grade 2.

He is one of five possibles for Willie Mullins and Ireland's champion trainer said: "The plan is to run Un De Sceaux once we are happy with him later in the week."

The six-year-old's potential rivals include Dunguib, who won the Weaterbys Champion Bumper in 2009, Alderwood, winner of the 2012 County Hurdle and the Grand Annual Chase a year ago and Flaxen Flare, last season's Fred Winter victor.

Dunguib has raced only twice since winning Saturday's race three years ago. He had his first start since the 2011 Champion Hurdle at Naas last month when he finished third behind Rule The World.

Trainer Philip Fenton said on Monday: "Dunguib has been fine since Naas. He's been working well and we're happy with him. He has the Boyne Hurdle at Navan on Sunday as an alternative to the Red Mills, but it's more likely he will go to Gowran."

My Tent Or Yours is set to go straight to Cheltenham after connections decided not to give him a prep run in the Timeform Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso on Thursday.

Racecourse gallop instead apparently.

Henderson only stating last month needs run as very buzzy etc,bit of worry for backers imo.
By:

Seeing as Kelso is currently good to soft, why would you not run him? Daft decision in my opinion. It might be enough to put me off backing the horse in the Champion.

Yes agree was looking for back up to Fly,off radar now.

When: 11 Feb 14 14:12
He's a buzzy type, running him on Thursady won't make any difference to that, if they go slow in the CH he'll pull, whether he ran at Kelso wouldn't have changed that one bit...more and more these days horses are having race course gallops rather than taking in an actual race....has him going straight to the festival ruined his chance....absolutely not...he's not injured!!
By:

When: 11 Feb 14 18:07
Getting back to talking about the actual race its self...whos going to be making the running in the race??Im all over TNO to win, but getting slightly worried about tactics and pace of the race. Dont believe we have seen the best of TNO yet..hes ran in some muddly races this season, getting to the front all too soon. He needs a strong neck gallop to sit behind then use his audacious turn off foot to pick his rivals off at the end.. Scared theres going to be no one wanting to lead early on and not a truly run race..

If nothing else,TNO deffo comes out on top in two categories already this year:

1.Most excuses whether it's won or lost.

2. Most superlatives used to describe his turn of foot!!! the latest offering being audacious!!GrinWink

TNO may very well win the CH but I dont believe he has even one line of form which says he does. I have said it for nine months a bookie/media job at 3/1 all year.

When: 11 Feb 14 21:19
lets put it this way TNO hasn't done any worse than jezki an our connor this year,an is entitled to be at top of the market his form book reads well enough at Cheltenham ,it makes me laugh people knocking his form I wouldn't mind a horse who came 6th in chelt bumper,1st in Aintree bumper,1st in Neptune, beaten a  previous Champion hurdle winner on the bridle ,13 races: 9wins an 3seconds ,say hed of won last race which he should of but the last hed be clear fav now that's for sure

Seriously? so Winning the neptune last year how he did is no line of form in your book? Do me a favour!

here here chief dan..very well put...What other contender could you possibly put behind hurricane fly..none of the others have achieved anything near to what TNO has.. deserved second favourite by a mile. Just glad the hurricane is running still adding a bit of value to TNO's price

Disagree from what ive seen from him  this season.. Im used to seeing him over the years in ireland doing everything all so easily...His hardest victories have come at cheltenham and a year older and against better opposition its only going to be tougher on him..but after alls said Come race day hurricane fly will be clear favorite..the irish are going to pile in

I'm completely convinced TNO is the winner. I can't see the Fly placing this year, a fantastic horse but time catches up on all of us. Tent is game but doesn't quicken or find. I don't see Our Conor or Jezki being good enough. Annie Power is a massive danger and I wish I'd taken a big price as cover.

Seery how does beating Rule The World and Pont Alexande represent CH winning form.
