If My Tent Or Yours needs to be supplemented, it has to be done before noon?

Not sure what is going on with Ladbrokes ante post market, but they've just taken out Grandouet & Oscar Whisky.

And cut the odds of those prominent in the market including Hurricane Fly, Zarkandar, Rock On Ruby, and My Tent Or Yours Scared

Maybe they've just messed up, or trying to cause some ante post carnage. All seems a bit strange though.

To answer my own question. I think it's cheaper to supplement MTOY for the race now, but there is a Supplementary Stage on the 6th of March.

Still don't know what is going on with the laddies market though.

Champion Hurdle shake up in the offing?
Coral and Paddy Power have suspended their Champion Hurdle betting and Ladbrokes removed Grandouet from the market. (8 mins ago)

I doubt there is a supp stage today - I think the forfeit stage is named as just that. Supp stage just before 5 day decs makes perfect sense.

May be wrong
Report RyanWe February 12, 2013 10:42 AM GMT
Well the rumour mill is flying, not looking good for Grandouet backers. This is going to add even more fuel to fire that My Tent Or Yours will be supplemented for the champion hurdle now.
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 10:50 AM GMT
Probably right, first day book could fall apart in my mind if he does run in CH.

But shouldn't make any difference to how Henderson looks at the race in terms of MTOY if another one of his doesn't run - he should still go for the race that best suits his ability/potential now. Doubt it actually works that way however
Report RyanWe February 12, 2013 10:53 AM GMT
To me, it would make more sense if Oscar Whisky now went for the Champion Hurdle. However, he's not in the ladbrokes market either now.
Report RyanWe February 12, 2013 10:54 AM GMT
And as for MTOY, it does seem to me that Henderson wouldn't even be considering the champion hurdle for him because he can see he would have an outstanding chance in the Supreme. Obviously, JP is in a different position to him though, and I'm assuming it's down to him.
Report Fallen Angel February 12, 2013 10:56 AM GMT
Be gutting for connections if Grandoeut misses another CH especially considering last year. Race is starting to fall a part a bit. Obviously betfair have suspended, haven't suspended the supreme which seemed a bit odd to me considering the connection between the two
Report Graeme83 February 12, 2013 11:00 AM GMT
It's always the Henderson 2 milers that have issues around this time. Binocular, Grandouet, Spirit Son, Darlan and now Grandouet again.
Report RyanWe February 12, 2013 11:00 AM GMT
Yeah I think they should be suspending the Supreme market for sure. People are starting to lay MTOY for the Supreme now.
Report resner not lesnar February 12, 2013 11:08 AM GMT
Spirit Son, Darlan, now it seems Grandouet. Henderson not having much luck with this race, all 3 were genuine contenders.
Report RyanWe February 12, 2013 11:08 AM GMT
They should suspend the world hurdle market too. Afaik Oscar Whisky hasn't been taken out of the champion hurdle. The forfeit stage closes in 52 minutes.
Report resner not lesnar February 12, 2013 11:10 AM GMT
Sorry Graeme I'd missed your post!

One thing certainly the Spirit Son and Grandouet situation has in common is a lack of news/confirmation from those closest to the horses
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 11:10 AM GMT
One consistent though - nothing official from the stable!
Report Fallen Angel February 12, 2013 11:11 AM GMT
Amazing how the champion hurdle always seems to look so strong and then collapses around a month before the event. Its either binocular and drug problems, injuries to key players or lazarous recoveries
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 11:11 AM GMT
Great minds resner Grin

Just said on ATR.. Gradnouet is out of the Kelso race, but supposedly no problems for the Champion Hurdle.

Grandouet* Cry
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 11:26 AM GMT
Nothing like an hour of good old fashioned speculation Grin

How many more before the start of the meeting?
Report Graeme83 February 12, 2013 11:29 AM GMT
People really ought to start getting their facts straight before running their mouth. I bet you there are a few folk out there who put GraNouet on the machine at big prices.
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 11:35 AM GMT
Nobody said anything was a fact did they?
Report ACStafford February 12, 2013 11:36 AM GMT
It serves themselves right if they did Graeme. People should really get their facts right before betting.
Report Graeme83 February 12, 2013 11:55 AM GMT
A couple of bookies apparently took him out of the betting. I wouldn't blame anyone laying him after that happened. As i say people should get their facts right before saying the horse is out.
Report ReaseHeath February 12, 2013 12:11 PM GMT
the cynic in me suspects the end game could well be' Grandouet injury worse than first thought and out of CH'

hope I'm wrong.
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 12:13 PM GMT
Who said the horse was deffo out Graeme?
Report Graeme83 February 12, 2013 10:34 PM GMT
"Who said the horse was deffo out Graeme? "

Nobody did Roob. Actions speak louder than words in this game though. If was taekn out of the market by the regular bookies, then that is a statement in itself in my opinion.
Report roobuck February 12, 2013 11:33 PM GMT
I think it wise to understand why certain things may happen and why bookies do what they do. They would argue that they were protecting punters and indeed the horse does have a problem , however small.

They cannot be expected to held responsible for what people do on here.
Report dj876 February 12, 2013 11:52 PM GMT
All joking aside about "Chemical Nicky",you have to wonder how close to the edge he sails.
Report Fallen Angel February 13, 2013 10:57 AM GMT
Or traditional bookies just use it as an excuse to cut everything else in the market and increase their book %. They must be desperate for MOTY to run though doubt they would have taken a bean on him considering Darlan was first choice. They may well clean up if anything else drops out.
Report roobuck February 13, 2013 12:24 PM GMT
On this occasion though, what would you do? If I had been on the verge of backing Grandouet I'd be now pleased he was withdrawn from the betting as I could now either choose to not back him or back him at bigger odds.

I would think most agree that his chances of winning are now smaller and as a consequence those around him in the betting have more chance. Clearly then you would shorten the odds of those horses?

This goes back to Graeme's point and the reality is nobody said anything was a fact - it's simply his interpretation of events that meant he assumed it was a fact. If he or anyone else has then layed the beast then they have nobody to blame but themselves - after all they would only be seeking to take advantage of someone who knew less.
