I can call him a crook if i want. If you're gonnae bet ante post you need a think skin and a bit of banter before the festival. I don't think he's looking for a bigger price, but i stick by what i say about lacking substance. Statistics have nothing to do with the outcome. He said the horse cant win.

Fwiw, re the comparison with Grad Crus, it is worth pointing out Dynaste won the Fixed Brush Hurdle off a 7lb higher mark, so maybe he is just a better horse, we'll see.
staggers me the lines of thought some people have....Grands Crus challenegd Big Buck's over the last in a World Hurdle...how on earth can the mark he raced off when scooting up in hcp prior to that be used to define him? unless people expect Dynaste to develop the same physical or mental issues that have beset GC on his last 4 starts, i dont see how the comparison is relevant anymore |
By:
Maybe I shouldn't do this but I try and ignore a horse's rating in another discipline as much as possible
For me Grand Crus is/was a far better hurdler than Dynaste. And whilst GC beat two of the top 3 three in the Gold Cup betting in last year's Feltham, I believe Dynaste to be the better chaser. That I accept is largely down to a visual comparison in how he accelerated away from two good yardsticks at Cheltenham and the way he was much stronger at the end of the Feltham. I wouldn't want to back Dynaste at the current odds, but nor would I want to lay him whatever the stats say. If he goes that route it will simply be a no bet race for me. And graeme calling someone a crook could be deemed libel, its a little different from banter. Your banter as you call it is a tad aggressive and personally don't think there is any need |

"And graeme calling someone a crook could be deemed libel, its a little different from banter. Your banter as you call it is a tad aggressive and personally don't think there is any need "
Really ? i don't feel aggresive when typing, quite the opposite infact. For example, when Judorick called me a 'horrible little ****' for having an opinion that differed from his(the hypocrisy of it all), i didn't care a jot. It was water off a ducks back, and i didn't see the offended bus lining up to condemn him. I suppose being Glasgow born it might be the case that what we pass off for banter might have your average man down south in tears on a regular basis. I will try and be sensitive, and i now understand that light hearted comments can now be seen as libelous, that a bit of banter can now be seen as agression, and that i should be more sensitive to the feelings of other men. On the same note, if anyone doesn't like a bit of banter then just ignore me, i believe it's a forum function. |
By:
Duncan, it's an indication as to why Dynaste MIGHT turn out to be a better chaser. It is just something to consider. I'll be considering it anyway.
Grand Crus needs to be excused for 4 runs now. Top horses don't usually need so many excuses. |

I like banter as much as the next person - use the smileys then to indicate when you are joking etc
![]() judo's reaction was perhaps due to your 'style' as it were and perhaps, just perhaps, others you saw it had the same thoughts? |

49/49 winners had run since xmas
No Feltham winner has won the race 1/10 winners was French Bred. Pipe out to break every RSA trend there is. If you haven't backed Dynaste you have to be mad if you think his current price is any value. While if you have got on at a nice price you surely have to lay your stake back and go with a free bet given he'll probably be 6/4 on the day. |
By:
CVByrne, you also missed another monster stat he has to bust of having had a 2nd season hurdling.
By:
Doh, I posted that state before. Also the World Hurdle runners have shocking record too.
By:
I will have to laugh if he does win this
![]() |
By:
The mugs keep backing him. I'd lay him for a place also and laugh when his tongue's hanging out up the hill....
By:
2/1 now from 7/1 (price of OP). Someone could lay off 2x their original stake right now @ 2/1, leaving them with a free bet @ 3/1. Win or lose they still doubled their money. I'm personally waiting for 6/4 to lay off.
Without a doubt this has to be one of the worst timed threads ever. ![]() |

? Hardly. Picked out a favourite at the start of the season, who I expected to win and look good all season, shorten up significantly and then get turned over at a short price on the day. At no point did I suggest he would be 7s on the day, said all along he would keep winning and coming in like the other horses before that match his criteria and then bombed seemingly surprisingly.
You can keep bringing this thread up every time he wins this season and shortens for the Festival - he looked great on Friday and I'm sure will win plenty of races - but come the day he will fail like the rest with his profile. I expect this to win the Feltham impressively on Boxing Day which will mean his RSA failure in March will be at a nice low price. I said whatever he achieves all season (and expecting him to have a good season and end up a short priced favourite) he will fail on the day. Only time will tell, but nothing incorrect or badly timed about the thread so far. |

By:
If Pipe was smart he'd run him in Jewson then step up to 3m afterwards. Like Sir Des and Champ Court did last season. Sil Conti didn't run in RSA either and look at the Gold Cup betting now.
By:
Agree with that.
Or is it that you see him as too big a threat to Boston Bob? ![]() |
By:
CV,hes already ran at 3m,and won comfortably and werent stopping.
This race if he runs will bust every single stat imo. And thats cos imo their is no serious challanger. |
By:
Sorry Bud, but wanted to check out why Feltham winners don't ever win RSA, think I found out why, average pace per furlong is slower than RSA despite most felthams being run on good to soft. So despite Chelts being a much stiffer track they still go a crazy fast pace and have to being all out miles out and still climb the hill.
So it's not about having won over 3m before, it's about never ever having faced the speed the go in the RSA before at that tack. Well actually in last years World Hurdle the race was run at a fierce pace to find out the non stayers. Dynaste was every bit a non stayer. So what horses like Hadrians Approach, Lyreen Legend and Boston Bob et el will do is turn this into a brutal test of stamina. Dynaste has failed his only test of stamina before in the Wold Hurdle, he'll probably fail it again. Also he's not a spring horse either imv. Runs best races in winter. |
By:
Well actually he was stopping, cos his jockey eased him up as he was so far ahead.
As for the Jewson option, yes,i can see the reasoning mate, but i really think he would win the RSA comfortably. Not sure he would win the Jewson though. I aint backed Dynaste in any race, wish i had though!! I honestly think this horse will reach the top level over fences, and will be a major Gold Cup horse next season. He aint no Grand Crus. |
By:
"I said whatever he achieves all season (and expecting him to have a good season and end up a short priced favourite) he will fail on the day."
What, so now you're some sort of soothsayer who predicted he'd win all those races and end up 2/1 a few weeks before the race? You never said anything about being a "short priced favourite" in the OP so please stick to the facts. When he was trading @ 7/1 you said "find the value elsewhere". People who backed him @ 7/1 could now have doubled their money with a few points still riding risk free. Again, this was one of the worst timed threads i've ever read. Seriously!!!! |
By:

So a 45l beating by BB in the World Hurdle is your evidence of Dynaste being "every bit a non stayer"? I think they call that "grasping at straws". |
By:
No way would i use the World Hurdle to prove a horse thats stayed and won easily over fences at 3m,cannot stay 3m.
I would say its more to do with trying to beat Big Bucks myself. Oscar Whisky tried to beat Big Bucks and failed to stay, yet over 3m this season without Big Bucks he apparently now stays!!. The end of the day,hes running in a race that has the same distance more or less as one he p1ssed up in earlier in the season. This will bethe ultimate stat buster imo and i look forward to it happening. Just hope they decide to run him in it. |
By:
Eh What? You just said he was beaten 45l and are claiming what, that he stayed? It was the first fierce gallop race and he faded badly. Slower run Cleeve and he came 2nd. Pretty simple tbh.

You can't make this stuff up. Oh wait, you just did. ![]() |

5m57.9s Cleeve winning time
5m44.3s World Hurdle time Don't need to make anything up when there is irrefutible evidence of these things. |
By:
Not to mention him totally non staying in Long Walk at Ascot.
By:
CV I'm with you here although I recall him serving it up to BB pretty early on and getting the great horse momentarily off the bridle at Ascot. Pretty stupid thing to do in hindsight. No wonder he was beaten out of sight.
By:
im with CVB with regards dynaste being a non stayer, im not a clock watcher when it comes to NH racing so the times are irrelevant to me, but he is right about the pace in the race (rsa) it won,t be some sedate gallop they will all be going for it from the off, he will be convicingly out stayed imo.
By:
well its all about Big Bucks imo.
Take him out of that cleeve run for example,Dynaste wins the race beating Mourad 10 lenghts, with other stayers further back. Oscar Whisky stays 3m without BB in the race, but dont stay against him. Dynaste stayed 3m at Kempton, beating the 2nd who was staying on,comfortably, easing up. He stays 3m over fences until proven otherwise, thats my take on him. |
By:
He doesn't stay 3m in an RSA until he looks like a dour stayer.
No feltham winner has ever won RSA, utterly baffled that you'd use the fact he won Feltham as any way proof he stays RSA trip. RSA winners run in Reynoldstown as it's a stiff track with hill finish. My main question with Dynaste is why go for the RSA? He has so much speed you shouldn't want to blunt it by going for a race where speed will be pointless as stamina is what wins the race. If the RSA was actually a prestigeous race I could understand but it's not. The Arkle is the king of the Novice races. Dynaste should go for the two 2m4f races at Cheltenham and Aintree, he could sluice up in those two without his mark of 161 Changing. Then go for Paddy Power next term and build from there. Al Ferof is a Gold Cup horse in the making and Nicholls has handled his amazingly well. Pipe should do the same with Dynaste. Especially after what happened for Grands Crus |
By:
totally agree cv
By:
with your last post
By:
I agree with that also CVB. However bizarrely I also agree with budd in that this year I'm not sure that there is a good enough horse to stretch Dynaste enough in RSA.
As I said wouldn't back him at the price, but wouldn't lay him either |
By:
also think that dynaste will win rsa by default tho always stated i think the horses best trip is 2.4m
By:
Crazy as this may sound to some, but MTOY and Dynaste are big lays at their likely sp's. Simply too short and overbet.
Anyway back to Dynaste, he's a lovely horse but Pipe needs to forget about the bloody RSA, nobody gives a monkeys if you've won an RSA. Bostons Angel is going in the cross country 2 years after winning one. Take it easy on him this season, Then Paddy Power - King George - Gold Cup / Ryanair. Nicholls seems to hate the RSA now. Loves skipping it with horses n favour of next season. |
By:
I'm really shocked that some people on here think a 3 mile hurdle race can foretell whether a horse will stay a 3 mile chase race. Some horses will never be at their optimum until they jump the larger obstacles. In the case of Dynaste the Pipe team have always seen him as a top class chaser and were planning to switch him to novice chasing right after his Haydock win but then changed plans and targeted a BB clash instead. The jury is still out as to whether he will stay the 3 mile RSA but i certainly wouldn't use the WH as a guide. glta.
By:
lets face it,if you judged every horse by its runs against big Bucks then none of them stay!!
I would rather judge a horse on its ability to stay 3m over fences,on its form over fences at 3m. Dynaste has had one run over fences at 3m,and proved he stayed that day. That to me is far more conclusive than a couple of hurdle runs trying to beat probably the best staying hurdler ever. As for what race, thats a different argument, and i can certainly see the case behind running in the Jewson and CV puts it over very well. But that race looks trickier to me,theres a couple i fancy strongly. The RSA on the other hand looks p1ss easy to me,and if Dynaste cant beat that lot,hes nowhere the horse i think he is or certainly can be. |
By:
there has been some pocket talking on here..as a boston bob backer i think dynaste should go for the RSA...so it gives his team a better picture for the future...as id rather find out if a horse is a strong stayer now in order to make things clearer for next season. He looked as if could have went around again at kempton.
By:
One point overlooked. There were TWO fences omitted in the Feltham. Throw in a moderate early pace and we can see speed won the day, not stamina. Fully agree with CVB here. Dynaste has a stamina doubt against him.
Long Run beat Captain Chris by 16+ L in 2011 yet only managed to win by considerably less this time round because there were two less fences to jump that would've ebbed ever further into a horse's stamina reserves. Those two fences that didn't have to be jumped helped Captain Chris "stay" the 3miles better then he did the previous year. It was only the strong early pace and subsequent desperate finish that has people believing Cue Card, Champion Court, Grands Crus and Captain Chris can stay 3m with no problems. Neither a backer or layer of Dynaste but fully agree with Roobuck. Problem is no other rival has thrown down a convincing claim to win the race. |
By:

Sorry Bud but this is absolute nonsense, horses who galloped with Big Bucks to the end but beaten by better horse are not called non stayers. Dynaste emptied totally twice against Big Bucks, first when he tried to make running over 3m1f ascot. Then emptied in fierce run World Hurdle. There is enough there to question if he is a proper stayer. Compare that World Hurdle which was 2s quicker than Albertt Bartlett. Boston Bob stays on bitterly to the end for a good way back. Visually you see 2 different things from a horse over 3m in a similar pace race over same c&d. One empties, one stays on. |
