Giggsy, yes, I agreed with all of what Toy said and added (in further mitigation for the horse) that he was also perhaps a bit green in front. Uncontroversial, surely?

Will say again I think there were plenty of positives to take from yesterdays race. Remember Sprinter Sacre's debut over hurdles? I had the same feeling yesterday. He undeniably has plenty of talent and IMO if given his head earlier and allowed to get into a rhythm he would have won yesterday albeit it may have been hard work in the ground. I'm not sure if McCoy is riding to instructions but he's given a few very poor rides this season and without slating him I was less than impressed with the ride yesterday. It's hard work to pick horses up from a poor position in the ground and while the horse did what was required he just blew up before the line. He was carrying a little condition as you would expect going into his first run of the season and hopefully, as it goes on he will improve. I really do doubt JP came over on a wet and cold Monday afternoon at Kempton to watch his County hurdle hope lets put it that way.

I agree MM ! |

Which ever way you look at it, he has folded twice when looking sure to win. I agree the champ wasn't at his best yday, but i doubt Snake Eyes could win the Supreme on the snaff and would therefore be worried what he could find when put under pressure.

Not many of the very best get given excuses twice, but I do think he had legitimate ones in his first run and arguably at Kempton too. I think the Irish run too showed that he did find plenty when asked because he shot clear, he just then got tired and lonely and got worried out of it.

Any more info on this one regarding next run etc?
By:
Doubt we'll see him until there's some better ground.
By:
Yeah, that is my thought too having watched the race and his bumper again. Also feel he may have to be delivered as late as possible
By:
Bumper form took another boost today
By:
Turn up in a handicap somewhere and get hammered by JP
By:
Entered up at Newbury on Wednesday,Wonder if JP will turn up again..
By:
Yes just noticed gutfeeling AP is jocked up as well. Just thinking they may just take him down the Darlan route and aim him at the Betfair Hurdle.
By:
Looks like he could be taking on New Years Eve - that would be interesting
By:
Hopefully Snake Eyes comes on for the run last time
By:
Especially with Poet in the field!
By:
New Years Eve,interesting match up,Another Dog
![]() Just kidding,Well New Years Eve is,Dont think Snake eyes is ungenuine at all. |
By:
Poet,Fair Trade,Veloce,The Nephew.
If he can't beat these then any thoughts of a tilt at the Supreme will quickly become a distant memory imo. |
By:
Agree he needs to be doing well tomorrow.
By:
I think there are easier races to be won but all things being equal if he has Supreme pretensions he should run a big race tomorrow.
By:
Non runner today
By:
is there a problem or just an n/r due to the testing ground?
By:
Don't know but when I watched both races contested i thought the horse would be better on good ground. Soft/heavy not ideal so would be my initial thought regarding not running
By:
Defo pulled cuz of the ground imo
By:
Newbury the 29th..Desperate to get a run into him by the looks of it (MTOY also entered btw)
By:
Entered on Friday at Huntington but so is my tent or yours
By:
Where will this horse be targeted?
By:
Due to my bet I'm hoping the supreme!! Could end up in a handicap but certainly won't be over further than 2m
By:
Yeah I had a word for it months ago but seems to have slightly disappointed so far so I did wonder about handicap possibilities.
By:
only one hurdles race on heavy ground and you could argue that it wasn't one of AP's finest hours. Will need to hack up next time out though if he's to end up in the Supreme
By:
Needs to be winning cosily on the bridle next time out for them to consider Supreme
By:
Assume they want to target this horse in a race with less testing ground. Remember that was the reason it was pulled out of the Newbury encounter. As tory has stated entered for Huntingdon although Henderson has a good few entered including a french import.

This one is getting heavily entered up at the moment. Misses Taunton tomorrow but still in at Doncaster and sandown. Could it still end up at chelt in the coral cup or county hurdle? Cheers
