Beating Shoreacres by 1.5 lengths, who was then beaten by Smad Place by 7 lengths doesn't make me want to run out and take the 25's. As for Mikeal, I'd be wanting at least 33/1 - 40/1 for him before I'd even think of backing him. |

as i said before ,dont think tom would have bet this one( maybee he thinks it has a similar profile to grans crus) maybee a token bet just in case ,but he is paid by the paper to put up these ante post tips up to sell more papers on a quiet tuesday ,hes got to put up something ,out of the 4 championship races he has put up the only one that he seemed half keen on and may have backed ( me reading between the lines) was captain chris in the gold cup and possibly oscars well in the champion hurdle ,but i backed these before he put them up so i might be pocket talking .

i agree it has no win chance but with a few of the field uncertain to run so if it lines up may shorten a few points then i suppose u could argue thats job jone beat the bookies. nrnb aswell so given the task of opposing bb its quite an imaginitive/hopefull/crazy selection...id have gone oscar whisky myself

Definitely FFS  Henderson moans about the exchanges one minute (re Spirit Son drift) and then the next thing the horse who is a heavily backed 2nd favourite after Henderson said it was defintely being aimed at the World Hurdle is now only 60-40 to be aimed at the race. He's getting worse than Mullins.  |

I think the change in stance is down to the possible non runner of Spirit Son though. Clearly Nicky told the owner OW has no chance of beating SS, yet he might beat the other two ?
I think he will go world hurdle anyway. |

Here is what Henderson said last week according to the Sporting Life:
Oscar Whisky was third in last year's Champion Hurdle and his trainer now feels the time is right to have a crack at the mighty Big Buck's in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle over an unchartered three miles. "Two and half miles suits Oscar Whisky well but his next run will be over two miles as he is going to Ffos Las for the Welsh Champion Hurdle," Henderson said. "It might not be a logical route but it is obviously because Dai Walters owns him and Ffos Las and wants him there so that is where we are going to go. "He won it last year and I would like to win it again and then we will switch him from two miles to three miles for the World Hurdle and there is no great problem with that. "I can't see how he is going to win the Champion Hurdle and I wish there was a champion two and a half mile event as that would be made for him as he proved at Aintree last year. Clearly he should have said 'we will wait and see what happens at Ffos Las and then depending on the well being of our other runners and the other market leaders we will make a decision nearer the time'. |

What the feck is going on with this stable?? Thought they had made their mind up. If HF fails to shine i reckon they will go CH,just hope he puts in a real good performance this weekend. As Sint says they think he can beat Grandouet and Bino by the looks of it. Not only may i have lost out on Spirit running i may also lose out on OW running in the WH.Still thats antepost. I have saved on OW for the CH,but nowhere near the amount for the WH. Just wish when they say something definite,they stick to it. 60-40 says he is more likely to go WH,but i reckon its all about HF's well being. |

Uncle - that was before Spirit Son was ruled out. And I don't see why BG would pick Grandouet over OW - I know which I'd rather back!
OW must have a chance in the Champion. He came third last year and is having a good season. Hurricane Fly hasn't been seen yet and has doubts (at this stage), nor has Zarkander. (Without getitng in to what chance he would have of beating Big Buck's!) I've assumed they wanted to run OW in the World Hurdle as they had nothing else for it, BJG wouldn't have a ride and they had a strong candidate (or two) for the Champion. Now their Champion position has weakened, why not reconsider? I can't see Binocular beating OW and he's better than Grandouet on ratings. I guess what happens to Hurricane Fly could be crucial - if he bombs on Sunday or his injury doeubts resurface I'd expect to see OW in the Champion. |

Take HF out of the race,i think he has to go Churdle,pains me to say it,but he then has 5 yr olds and Binocular in his way.
I spose you cant blame them if they changed their minds in that scenario,its what i would do. |

Whenever you hear a clerk of the course say a meeting is 60-40 to go ahead you just know it's going to be abandoned...so on that logic I'm inclined to side with the 40 option at the moment!

They should go CH anyway imo. Yes IF he stays 3 miles he is a cert for 2nd at worst in the WH. But, he wouldn't be the first to improve on a previous run in the Champion, which is of course a much more prestigious prize.
Why step into the unknown when you can go for the bigger prize in full knowledge that he can at least place? Not a fan of this stable at all, once again pissing around joe punter the lifeblood of the sport. Hope the pwick has zero winners. |
