He may not end up winning the  RSA (although if it is very soft...) but I really like Sire de Grugy. He looked power paclked in the Dovecote. I would be very surprised if he was not a better horse than Tpoloski.

there is a jumps 2012 preview at www.thefreekick.com.  click on horse racing.  the author has profiled 100 horses broken down into established hurdlers, established chasers, novice hurdlers, novice chasers and top bumper horses.  its pretty detailed in fairness to the lad.  he also did an antepost preview which makes for a good read.

The jumps preview mentioned above is very good (although Captain chris was not outstayed by medermit in the Scilly) and really whets the appetite nicely.

i like shuil royale. no doubt il have some folk laughin at me for nominating a 120 rated hurdler as a nag to follow and a potential cheltenham horse but i think hes very promising and could potentially improve a ton. very weak last yr, could turn out a good un i think

Trainer says he won't start him off til Xmas for some reason and then all roads lead to Cheltenham

He ran 6 times last year & missed all the spring festivals. If the ground isn't gone he might run at Cheltenham and Fairyhouse or Punchestown

I'd be guessing run at Xmas (in either a beginners or possibly in at the deep end in the big 3m chase)

2 more runs would be needed before Cheltenham IMO, then the RSA (pleeeeese Shary!) and either Fairyhouse or Punchestown?

Samain...from W Mullins yard...will win 3/4 before going to Supreme Novice where he will be hard to beat.

Tarablaze: If jumping sorted well weighted. Expect big things from this one and will be massively over looked due to owner/trainer combo having Captin Chris and Wishfull Thinking

Robbinson Collonges: Very well weighted, poss needed a wind op?

Swing Bill: Would like to see him over marathon trips, also well in over hurdles wouldnt be a surprise to see Pipe take advantage of this.

Cant Buy Time: Very good weight needs soft even though JJ doesnt think so

Mamlook: Really well in on hurdles rating.  Chelt record not great goes well at Ascot, would love to see him go for the Listed Handicap that Massinis Maguire won at that course last Oct.

Caroles Legacy: improves year on year, massive Hennessey chance if lineing up.

samain a good shout, that good bumper horse of weld's he just beat travels amazingkly well in his races as well and apparently jumps beautiffully, I think hurdling will really suit it, bought by McManus for 400,000

CAROLE'S LEGACY, last seen running a brave second to Nacarat in this month's Totesport Betfair Bowl, has been retired and covered by Kayf Tara at Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire.

The seven-year-old mare has been a most consistent servant to her owner-breeder Paul Murphy, winning nine of her 18 starts and finishing out of the first two only twice.

Suddenly it's September and we can all begin to plot a path to March. Happy fukcing days. Cottage now booked, and two Irish newcomers to be quietly interested in IMO. BLACK BENNY, well-backed to win a bumper at Galway(Good)and then sluicing through the rain today at Listowel(soft) to win a maiden hurdle a shade cosily, despite not jumping perfectly. Come March the form might not turn out to be that strong, but I was struck by ATR's Gary O'Brien's very positive view of the run/horse(think he's a good judge.)Also SANDS COVE, a bumper horse that hosed up in filthy ground at Roscommon 10 days ago, well backed before drifting like a refugee boat from Northern Africa before the off(5-2 out to 9-2). It won on the bridle under Nina C, and Swan said afterwards it was the best horse he'd had so far. That might have had a touch of the adverts about it, but it was a taking performance. Can't wait to see it on a decent surface, hopefully just as good. The first post of the 2012 Festival: bring it on...
