Not sure if it has anything to do with PW tipping up his stablemate Minella Class.
There also seems to be money for Bob's Worth to run in the Albert Bartlett instead. Just as confused as you are. |
By:
Tom says Henderson is considering the A.B instead of Neptune.Looks like another A.P bet is down.Had this at 16/1 with Lads.
By:
I like minella class for the neptune more than bobs worth. Seems Hendo might think the same too. Will steer clear though this close to nrnb.
By:
dident henderson so anything in the what the connections say bit i thought this was the obvious race for bobs
By:
In english please Alvarado!
By:
right when pricewise previews a race they have a bit in the paper where they get comments from the connections thats why i asked what did henderson say
By:
ok understood.

By:
well we will find out thursday one way or another not only is minella class running but henderson also holding his cheltenham press day
By:
Henderson said Bob's Worth will run at Cheltenham but he's not sure which race.
By:
Minella Class re match with Toubab on Thursday - over only 2 miles - could Minella stick with the Supreme?
By:
Sidney Banks is extended 2miles 4 furlongs.
By:
Thursday's race is 2m 4f. Toubab isn't entered in it. Both entered for 2m race at Kempton on Saturday but Minella Class going to Huntingdon apparently.
By:
His entry on Thursday is over 2 1/2 miles.

Henderson has merely stated that Bobs Worth isn't yet committed to the Neptune and the Albert Bartlett is a possibility. However he then says that it has run very well both times over two and a half so far. Given it managed to show most speed to win last time in a slowly run race then unless they try it over 3 miles before Cheltenham (which they aren't as far as I know !) then I'm pretty sure they will stick with the two and a half trip at the festival. I've been happy to get laid at 10 this morning in the Neptune and will ask for some more when the market reopens :)

Alan king thinks bob's worth is going for the AB
By:
they would be mad to go for that that race is won by extreme stayers bobs has only been 2 and half why would u want to chance it when hes got an excellent chance over a trip he has already proved he stays it just dosent make sense
By:
Maybe manilla class is better
By:
I dont think Nicky knows which way to go with his team and doubt if anything is finalised.
After Sprinter Sacre won at Ascot last weekend NJH spoke about rejigging the novices ( said if he had his way would put Sprinter S him away). Moving Bobs Worth up to 3 miles (Mossley only other entry ? ) leaves a bit more room to rejig Sprinter Sacre/ Spirit Son/ Minella Class and might even take Gibb River or the Chablais back into play ? ( all of this before you get to JPs novices). I did think he seemed a bit surprised when Bobs Worth won at Cheltenham last time ...." keeps om improving " etc etc . |

By:
i think with his namesake onboard, rock on ruby will win the neptune
By:
Well the waters are well and truly muddied. I can't believe the Albert Bartlett is a serious target. Thought his last run at Cheltenham over 2 and a half miles was a cracking run. Easily held Rock on Ruby with the pair well clear. This morning's drift got me worried something was amiss with the horse so am pleased to hear thats not the case, whichever race the trainer chooses.
By:
i was at the race Rock on Ruby got beat off Bob's Worth. Young Harry Skelton is no Barry G in a finish as yet, he rode a poor race ,took rock on ruby very wide on the turn, dropped his stick after the last aswell and went down just over 2 lengths. So it'll be rock on ruby for me e/w at the prices
By:
Im also keen on rock on ruby for the neptune..All that worries me is paul nichols didnt mention him in his stable tour yesterday...bit bizzare, coz he looks a class act to me.
By:
bobs beat him easily and was taken very wide from champion court i think rubys in the wrong race he should be in the supreme
By:
Bobs Worth is off to the 3 miler
By:
Is that just your opinion bluebirdfan?
By:
the strange thing about Bobs win in the Neptune trial is that it was run like a 2m race, which suited Bobs Worth most and that was why he won.
I would fancy Rock on Ruby to get closer ridden more prominently and given a true run race. It seems strange that they are thinking 3m for this one, given the above. |
By:
Henderson and King seemed to suggest it in the R Post yesterday
By:
Henderson just wants a runner in as many races as possible. Which is why he kept on insisting that A Media Luz would still go for the Fred Winter despite being rated 137.
By:
I'm pretty she as soon as AML's revised rating was published he said she'd be going for the Triumph/
By:
Whatever race Henderson puts him in, you have to respect his decision, he is the 2nd most winning trainer at the Festival.
By:
I would say he's leaning to the AB because he knows that Oscar well will be nigh on impossible to beat
By:
not really nort oscars wells got to first prove himself round chelts and on decent ground not some slog on heavy ground in ireland.i would think this is simply cos the yard think Minella class is just better than bobs worth and they want to give bobs his best chance of winninbg a race at the festival
By:
l think Bobs Worth has put a spanner in the works as he has taken the yard by suprise with how much he has improved, this time last year they thought he was an OK horse, they certainly didn't see him as a market leader for a festival race. Given Hendersons dire record in the race, 0-25 and l think only 3 placed, l would be quite happy to lay whichever runners he sends to this race. On Alvarados point about Oscars Well needing to prove himself on better ground l would 95% certain that he would improve on his runs in Ireland for running on better ground as most Oscars prefer better ground to heavy going. Peddlers Cross a case in point.
By:
Lots of theories flying around but I simply see it as: the yard has 3 horses who have shown good 2m form - Sprinter Sacre, Sprit Son, Minella Class - and also Bobs Worth who sees out 2m5f very well. Of the 2 milers MC looks the obvious one to step up in trip. I'm sure NJH and the owners want BG to ride their horse wherever possible so it makes sense they they at least CONSIDER the option of spreading these 4 horses between the 3 novice hurdles, and a sBW has shown he stays best so far the 3 miler will come under consideration for him.
It may be that once they get closer to the festival they decide that they want to stick to the 2m5f race with BW, but it's not hard to see why the 3 miler is under consideration. |
By:
If Minella Class doesnt win today ( looks a trappy race ) I could see Barry on Spirit Son in Supreme, Sprinter Sacre in Neptune and Bobs Worth in the 3 miler.
By:
no way sprinter sacre defo lines up for the supreme along with spirit son.todays race is massive pointer for his plans for the neptune the stable obviously think minella class is better than BW but minella got to win today giving away weight in a hot race if he wins impressively i can see BW going for the 3miler but if beaten BW will line up in the neptune
By:
Hasn't he also got Gibbs River and Kid Cassidy for the supreme.
Is he gonna do a Dandy Nicholls and hav 1/4 of the runners. I have a feeling grade 1 may be right. Also, there is the issue of fav in each race. Which one does he think is the waekest. Personally, I believe OW is the weaker. Supreme - Spirit, Gibbs and Kid Neptune - Minella and Sprinter AB - Bob Finally, he hasn't got the best of records in the Neptune. Does he want to (Henederson) address this? Probably completely wrong. Have a good Cheltenham Forty |
By:
Might have something to do with Oscars Well's price you chump.
By:
Is Henderson sorting his running plans for what suits him best rather than the owners interests as i cant why youd changed Bob's Worth from the 2m5f event to the 3m given hes won twice over the shorter distance at Cheltenham
