Given that Kauto Star was at fav for the last 4 Gold Cups at odds of
8/11 (fell), 7/4 (won), 10/11 (2nd), 5/4 (won); then Imperial Commander should be more like 7/4 given he's a better horse than Denman, and (IMO) Denman is a better horse than Kauto Star (please don't chide me for having an opinion that differs from yours). Just noticed that both times Kauto Star started at odds-on he didn't win the Gold Cup! An omen perhaps? I am also very interested in Riverside Theatre in the Ryanair, and I've taken advantage of the 16's on offer with Boils. |

any1 got any info on realt dubh in the arkle ?? 25s with hills but 12s in other places , want to have a few quid on e/w but that price makes me feel like they know it aint going to run ,,

Owned by Derek Sharkey, Realt Dubh, who finished second in the Grade 1 John Durkan Chase on his last start after Mikael D'Haguenet fell at the final fence, was introduced into the betting for the Arkle at 14-1 by Totesport.
Meade said: "I was disappointed with him at Fairyhouse and it looks as if the drop back in trip (from 2m4f to 2m1f) made all the difference. "He jumped super and he'll come back for the Arkle next month [at Leopardstown in January] and all going well it will be on for the Arkle at Cheltenham." |

cheers BJG , will be off to hills to take the 25s

Cue Card (assuming he runs in the Supreme Novices Hurdle) is a bigger certainty than Big Bucks; what on earth in that field can get anywhere near him?
By:
Flat Out
By:
zaidpour dwm767? i personally think the race is cue card's, but i always like to try and oppose a "good thing"
By:
Cue Card. Absolutely honks up
By:
Form no where near to the standard of Cue Card Paul4, and won twice going right handed, lost going left handed; combined that's enough to put me off! It's admirable trying to take on a good thing, but some are so obviously good it can pay to not over complicate!
By:
yeh i dont mean back against the good thing (although i do) but more to try pick holes in them, or look for hopefuls elsewhere. i am happy to write off the loss as i think a better pace at cheltenham will suit and was staying well so dont see the hill being a problem
By:
Good luck finding holes in Cue Card! Loads of top class course form, and connections who know how to win a race at the Festival! He'll go odds on once he's confirmed for the race, and still be a cracking value bet!
Too many ifs about Zaidpour; he's got a chance IF he's improved from what we've seen so far, IF going left handed isn't a problem, IF he travels over ok, IF he handles Cheltenham...! |
By:
in all fairness cue card is the most solid proposition along with big bucks imo. other than that i couldnt be overly confident about anything
By:
how the bucks is 4-5 on here is beyond me why isnt he 4-7 even then its value. nothing has the form to get it off the bridle. before anyone says injury he's as sound as a pound
By:
I agree Howdi; Nicholls could not have a winner between now and the start of the Festival and he'd still canter home!
By:
Cue Card is the banker of the meeting just to echo some of the above comments. sommersby in the ryanair appeals at 10-1 nrnb previous festival form in grade one company and the least exposed runner in the field forget the nonsense about Henrietta Knight she is a trainer who can do the job when she has the horse, class is permanent

Binocular. With Overturn setting the quick pace and Bino guaranteed to be 110% fit in March I cannot see him losing his crown. I think the race on Saturday was very true and telling. Starluck was off the bridle a long way out for him. Khyber was given a very tough seasonal debut. Overturn is far better than the odds suggest.

davescrazy ive backed realt dubh for the arkle at 25s with billys ,bit worried now, but he entered for the irish arkle on sunday and if he goes well in that ,hopefully he will go for the arkle but second geussing some trainers is as hard as picking winners imo,bit worried as to why n.mead has so few winners at cheltenham festival any thouhts on that anyone

Zaidpour and Jessies Dream e/w double!
By:
Hurricane Fly is the NAP of the decade and has class and speed beyond any of his opposition and for all the cue card fans on here-you will get your fingers burnt backing against Zaidpour,he is a steal at 8/1 against cue card who has nothing to offer at the end of his races, all he does is travel like a superstar then finds nothing where as Zaidpour has speed and class to burn.
Double Nap Hurricane Fly 5/1 Zaidpour 8/1 |
By:
Zaidpour has no course form, no form going left handed, no form that can match the strength of Cue Card's, he has to travel well over from Ireland and deal with atmosphere of the Festival...and you want 8/1 about him!?
By:
I dont just want 8/1,i have taken it over and over and over again and dont you worry about all of the above,he will cope with everything in his stride,he is a machine and will not be beat
By:
Imperial Commander for me also. In fact a Binocular, Big Buck's, Poquelin, IC yankee almost looks tempting (if only it were that simple eh?).
If forced to be a bit more original (though not much!) I'd say Quel Esprit ew in the RSA. |
