In his presser he said the belts are not eveything and he is wants to fight Fury and Wilder without them. The lad us such a fraud knows he aint got it about him to win his belt back so already started the Pr machine for a big money fight without any belts.
He has no shame the boy... |

There were some funny prices bounded around all through the fight from what i heard.. I left a 2.2 lay from the start on Usyk and it was taken by the 3rd round...
By:
Which would you be on at those prices?
By:
I'd be tempted to tickle at Joshua 2.6 for sure. He might not have such a mug gameplan next time.
By:
Mug game-plan is very true... Almost looked like he didn't trust his own chin.. I get those tactics against Ruiz (rematch). I would expect him to be more aggressive and a little heavier, looking to finish before the 8th... More i think about it the less confident I'm feeling.

Odd thing with Joshua's record, he's had a few times he wobbled - Whyte, Klitsko etc...but still came back and won those.
He was never really in danger of getting KO'd though vs Usyk, yet managed to lose it. I'd say he should fight against someone like Usyk as full out warefare - toe to toe, and not be afraid of anything Usyk could throw at him. I thought he would do that in this fight (of course wrong I now know). I wish he had. |

I hope the hype on Usyk continues from here actually - as he's being called a mystical kind of fighter after winning this one.
He's a top fighter, and a great fighter at cruiserweight - but Chisora gave him more scares than Joshua did - so did we really see him tested here? Not IMO. But, let's hope for some big prices as the hype machine rolls on for Usyk in a rematch, and lets hope Joshua gets a kick up the 'arris before the next one, and some fire in his bellie! |
By:
I'm starting to convince myself that Joshua's chinny. Which explains why he didnt cut loose. imo.
By:
He is a bit chinny yes - but he was hit hard by both Whyte and Klitsko but neither stopped him.
Scared of that against Usyk punching power, surely not? |
By:
Usyk is what I'd call a 'nasty' puncher - his punches hurt, and he does it often enough to cause damage.
But, that is a slow gameplan in heavy boxing - someone like Tyson would have been in there making it a war, which is exactly what Joshua as a true heavy puncher should have done. |
By:
I'm also convincing myself he was damaged against Ruiz, Not been the same fighter since...
By:
Confidence in particular, yes may well be true.
