'Tyson won that fight and everyone knows it'........
Promoter Frank Warren on BT Sport Box Office says: "I thought he (Fury) had won it by three rounds. When you think of what he has come from to be here. It is the art of hitting and not getting hit. I didn't think he was going to get up (in the 12th) but at the end of the round he was pushing him back. "It is a draw but everyone knows he won it and we will want to do a rematch. How could a fight like this not be a rematch? It is unfinished business. He won that. He won that fight and everyone knows it. "In Britain that is an 80,000 job. Vegas will be drooling for this. When was the last time you saw a great fight in USA. Tyson and Deontay have livened up this decision. The best fought the best but it was not the best decision." |

Lol Warren wouldn't sell 80k tickets for this.
By:
What an awful card. He had it 4-0 Wilder after 4!
![]() |
By:
in the uk he might tbh
By:
Would do 80K easily. Froch - Groves did that.
Heavyweights a much bigger deal |
By:
not that it matters how many tickets they sell tbh, the ppv market is where they make their money and in the states nobody is a draw
By:
The thing is when you see things like that it does make you wonder, because it looks just like plain dodginess as how can you explain it, it's like he went out to score the fight in favour of Wilder from the start.

Would sellout Wembley instantly. And I would rather be there with the nations Travellers than watching AJ with his rent a mob boyband fans with their girlfriends in tow.
By:
Yer but that was promoted by Matchroom. Albeit I have to say BT's selling of this fight has been great on their channels and it will only be bigger now next time.

@andreward 45m45 minutes ago A draw, I understand (even tho I feel Fury won by a 2 or 3 rds). With 2 knockdowns & round here or there for Wilder and you have a draw in some people’s eyes. But 115-111 for Wilder is terrible, just terrible !! That’s what’s wrong with boxing. Fury’s stock went up !!!!! Even the Americans know it, and he is right too, this is what is wrong with boxing, and looking at the card just makes it worse when you see had Wilder 4-0 up after 4. |
By:
Yeah the price of Vegas tickets and the US PPV for their peak time is worth more than selling out Wembley.
By:
the more i think about it, the more it has to be AJ v Wilder next, its too big a payday for wilder to turn down considering what fury will do to him.
then fury v joshua whenever |
By:
But the politics make it unlikely. They couldn't agree this time, and Wilder likely just weakened his hand in negotiations. If Hearn doesn't want to give them a bone which he won't he can make even bigger demands than last time just citing you lost your last fight and don't sell any tickets.
By:
It won't be Wilder turning it down.......
By:
Oh and Hearn and Shelly Finkel hate each other, there's that too.
By:
That was a huge fight that will be talked about all over, so the 'no one knows Wilder' shtick won't play anymore
By:
Hearn is probs also happy to make money off AJ fighting a few more easy fights than if he has to do that you're basically obliged to fight Fury soon after. So 2 tough fights rather than 1.
By:
He will still play it most likely or just play up the other factors.
By:
i think wilders position being weaker makes the fight more likely imo, before tonight he could keep holding out saying he wants half the take but now he hasnt got a leg to stand on.
reckon theyll decide going out and losing to AJ for a bigger payday is better than rolling the dice with fury for a smaller one. i dont know enough about the politics obviously, im just a mug casual lol |
By:
The fact they hate each other after the previous negotiations will make each side likely just play the prat.
By:
There's ego is the thing clacher. The ego of Wilder/Finkel won't just let them go into negotiations and say yer we'll take 35% now or $15m or whatever flat fee.
From a money wise yes if you think you lose both fights you would fight AJ, but there's other factors. One fight is much easier to make than the other. It also assumes AJ even wants it. Imo AJ and Wilder were both as guilty as each other as not really wanting to fight the other, Hearn has likely already set up the Whyte fight to be made soon after he wins at end of this month. |
By:
how long until we get fury v aj?
By:
It's like I was saying the other day to someone. If AJ really wants this fight, where is he? He should 100% be in Los Angeles for this fight if he has any interest in fighting Wilder/the winner, the fact he isn't, and the fact him and Hearn were both very reluctant to even talk about it talks volumes to me. Both want to play it down as much as possible and have no real agenda to fight the winner next.
By:
2020 probs.
By:
They'd have to somehow give Fury a huge offer to make it happen in 2019 and probably aren't interested in doing that. Basically they'd have to entice Fury away from this rematch. But why are they going to make a huge offer to put their 3 belts massively at risk?
And that's without even getting into the politics of how you even make it with Sky Sports, BT, Hearn, Warren etc. |
By:
i wish i knew more of the behind the scenes stuff, it seems like a really awful soap opera
By:
Also does actually make more sense for Fury vs Joshua to be for all the belts. It would be absolutely huge, the biggest fight this country has ever seen. So from that pov it does make more sense to just wait and hope Fury beats Wilder which they will now think he does.
Because as much as all the talk prior to this has been about AJ vs Wilder, AJ vs Fury is a much, much bigger fight. |
By:
im just watching youtube videos now and honestly AJ still doesnt look anything like the fighter sky/hearn have built him up to be, hes going to be under huge pressure to prove himself no matter who he faces next
By:
im enjoying reading your thoughts, as they are important when it comes to gambling, as tonight proved.
plenty to think over |
By:
Hearn is a great salesman. Fans are starting to grow tired of it though, it was very noticeable last fight how fans were moaning about his opposition even though Povetkin isn't even that bad, it's just that heavyweight division is very shallow. If he fights 2 more easy jobs next year which is likely assuming Fury and Wilder rematch it's only going to get much worse for them while Fury and Wilder have another massive fight.
By:
Well done wise on your prediction, unlucky sof youve lost loads of money again and I'll just say big baby Miller would have had these two out within 6
By:
Big Baby Miller ffs.
By:
That much Ellie Seckbach must be absolutely seething somewhere. He's been claiming Fury would be easy work for Wilder for years and how Wilder has fought much better opposition in the past than Fury. Claimed that Malik Scott would beat Fury
. Malik Scott doesn't even throw a punch. |
By:
Malik Scott - seriously - would not beat The White Rhino
By:
While Fury enhanced his rep with this I do not see at all that Wilder's stock has gone down....
1. He is now a much bigger name. 2. He still has his belt. 3. He showed that, even totally gassed and completely outboxed, he can still absolutely level anyone even to that last moments of a fight. The only loser of the night is AJ, as every casual fan will be wondering wtf he is fighting Chisora et al, and he will be seen as less legit now |
By:
We will see what bs spin the Hearns/Matchroom/Sky come out with in next few weeks.
By:
Joshua only fights fighters past their best so makes sense he fights ortiz next.Mark my words.
