I thought Flintoff would throw better punches than you see in a school fight given all the professional help he's been getting.

I hope he decides to call it a day now , cos he cannot keep getting fed fodder like that and the first real opponent he fights could seriously hurt him.

There's no alternative but to call it a day - they'll never find anyone else as bad as Dawson. It's scandalous that Freddie was actually trained to box, and yet didn't throw a solitary punch worthy of the description out of about 200. I'm not kidding when I say I could put on a stone and a half, train for a month and beat both those ****.

Or cricketer Vs cricketer maybe? He could go after Kiwi Kerry Walmsey for smashing poor James Cracknell into Tardsville.

I've been out and just watched it on youtube. Embarrasing just isn't the word. If the promoter said to Dawson, I'll give you $500 grand to knock the Limey out in the first round, Flintoff wouldn't have lasted the first minute let alone the second. Dawson threw one punch in the entire 'fight' and put him on the canvass in the second round. I think that should be it now, bit of a gimmick I suppose and got a good bit of publicity but call it a a day now and don't mug the people who paid money to see the worst bout in the history of the sport again.

That Fight was a joke from start to finish(I never had a bet ,so I can honestly say I don't have sour grapes)
But what Now what for him ?
It just makes a mockery of boxing imo.
Like someting out of Rocky with hand picked Boxers and Freddie will work his way up(got 1 or 2 max fights before you actually get a Hungry kid that shows him what a proper clump is)
Boxing becomes more of a joke year after year.
Oh to go back to the good old days with proper Boxers.
All about Cash Kings now Cry
I really feel for the young lads coming through.
Heavyweight division is fooking laughable.

I feel sorry for all the talented Hungry fighters working the ropes day after day looking for a lucky break.
But Freddie walks in and within 6 months and a decent PR team has earned more in 1 fight than they will probably earn in their career,
It's just so wrong,It's a joke!!

glad i only had 225 in account or would of lost alot more

the whole thing was a joke in hindsight just when boxing was on the up after london 2012 local gyms getting new  kids coming through the door each week and there mums no longer thinking boxing is a bad thing to get into they put this farce on.

i hope freddie quits as he proved he has a glass chin and cant box hes had a taste of it and if shane and barry are honest lads they will tell him
and as for dawson the less said about him  the better

ive learnt a expensive  lesson even if you know a boxer cant throw a straight punch take a punch doesnt like hurting the opponent and is to nice a bloke to be a boxer it doesnt mean he will lose as in the the 8 months its took him  to train its took sombody else 8 months to search gyms as far afeild as america to find a fat bum whos even worse

I honestly think I could throw a better punch than Flintoff and I'm a big softy who hasn't threw a punch since I was 12.

It really is funny all those people saying ' i could have done better'. Yeah - drag youself from the pc screen, put down the burger, the crisps and the booze for a couple of months, try and get yourself to anything like fitness, try to learn how to punch properly and then start thinking about it!
It was a low level fight and Flintoff was just doing what (amongst others) thousands up and down the country that have boxing as part of their fitness regime would want to do - difference being he had the oppo. The joy on his face was good to see - this is a man that has won a fair bit and captained his country at his chosen sport yet he places this achievement higher than that - bad for boxing?
It was a bit of fun no more - damage could be done though if he carries on as he obv aint going to achieve owt at boxing! Anybody that bet more than £5 on that needs to have a look at the Gamblers Anonymous website!

I don't disagree with anything you have said Spyker, but is Freddie now retired as boxer ? was that a one off,or will the media now build him up to be a contender(not sure what for)

I am pretty fit Spyker but I prefer Weight lifting and rowing to boxing. I will admit he is brave to give boxing a try to the extent he did it's just that after 6 months of pro training and he was throwing punches like slaps that disappointed me. I thought that would have been the easy part whilst bouncing on your feet, moving your body, keeping your guard up would be the difficult part.

how could flintoff have got 39 pts,he must have lost the 2nd round 10-8

Said exactly the same last night. Verging on corrupt to have scored him 9 in that round imo.

The whole thing was a farce. Dawson looked like he'd taken a break from his pint in the pub outside the arena to go in there and 'fight'. Look at the video of Flintoff's post-fight interview - barely a mark on him after going four rounds with a 'pro'.

If Robert Smith thinks this is a good advert for the sport, he needs his head testing.

The ref has added up wrong Flintoff won 3 and lost the 2nd( however he probably did more in the round despite being knocked down)so Flintoff wins by a point doesn't really matter if the ref added wrong.

Flintoff got carried away by the occasion he loked better than this in training. He neglected straight punches and was slap happy for the most of the fight.
