i think Burns is genuine world class,he has a fantastic jab and is always supremely fit.In hindsight he was a great bet against Mitchell.I think a mixture of his lifestyle plus the Katsidis loss has finished Mitchell!Lets face it even though he beat Murray last year ,there were times in that fight he was wobbled a bit! Its all about opinions and i for one think Burns can move up to the elite class,he showed when he fought Katsidis that he can box on the end of his jab to good effect and i hope he goes on to bigger and better things!

so who next i'd love to see him fight Broner, my guess is warren will get a fight organised against a nobody this year then look for something bigger in the spring, unfortunately Harrison will put bums on seats but its not gonna be an edifying spectacle imo

I'd get Vasquez over. Unification and I think Burns could beat him

Interesting that it's taken so long for Warren to come up in the post fight discussion. For me his matchmaking has been the most significant factor in Burns' title defence run, not Rickys ability/improvement.
I'm not saying Warren has selected bums (although Cook, Evensen and Layrea were terrible opposition) but he has shown a real skill of picking fighters that have looked dangerous and exciting but have turned out to be past it. I don't think this is an accident, more impressive promotional steering from Frank. How you can talk elite, which means pound for pound not just divisional,on the back of the last couple of years is beyond me. The Martinez fight was a ding dong rollercoaster ride, a fantastic upset. Where have the world-class performances/opposition been since then? If he climbs in with the lads from the division mentioned above and performs well I'll be happy to hold my hands up but to demand more respect for Burns at the moment is puzzling. He's got some way to go before being regarded as a great champion, elite status is miles away imo. |

You have to say that Duke otherwise you're anti scottish get something against Burns cos you done your dough like myself V Martinez. I do believe he can beat Vasquez but I'm gonna have my anti Ricky head on for Broner and DeMarco

I don't think many are going to argue that the rickster will ever be p4p material to be honest, but he does deserve respect as one of the few genuine world class fighters we've got at the moment. I'd give him a great chance against Broner personally and probably get a decent price aswell.

You'd get an outstanding price from where I'm sitting!

warren does that though he is the master at squeezing every last dollar out of a fighter, not that its been good for the game mind or even some of his fighters, it was around about this sort of break through time both hatton and khan dumped him. I am not sure what will happen with burns but to me it would be great if he got on the boat and went to a top yank gym, cos unlike amir he would listen and learn and unlike hatton he lives the life and isnt gonna get distracted.
I think Duketurtle is being pretty harsh with his wooden comments tbh and he can only beat whats in front of him which nobody is denying wasnt impressive last night but he is far from the finished article |

look forward to doing business with you then duke
it's all about opinions |

If the price is right we'll dance, let's keep
price-wise till nearer the time |

Sadly I don't think we'll get a chance to see Burns unifying titles or fighting the likes of Broner.
He's too nice a lad in some ways he'll let Warren do what he likes and with that crowd yesterday all Frank will be interested in is lots of paydays. Home defences against the easiest opponent Warren can find for the next couple of years ![]() |

Harrison is on the cards, Warren will milk it to death.
Mitchell will have to rebuild now, could he move to 140? Him vs McCloskey would be a good euro level scrap. |
