Tyson Fury is not a boxer.
He had to force himself to do combinations - you could see his mind going '... what was it now we did in the gym ... one of these jab tings... that cross thing... then that hooky whatsit, right I'll give it a go.' Manufactured, and manufactured from wood at that. And he came into the fight with a roll of blubber round his midriff. although at least that was two less rolls than Chisora had. Haye would trounce him, Klitchkos would squash him flat, I'd even back Audrey against him. Still, good-looking lad, on terrestrial, loves god, jesus and his mum, and I'm sure Frank Warren will 'carefully manage' his career. |

Fury's problem has previously been conditioning. To accuse him of being manufactured is wide of the mark in my view. He is still raw and crying out for the tuition which a Steward could bring him. The fact is that he throws combinations now which is more than the vast majority of todays heavyweights do.
Isn't he a Mick Hennessy fighter? |

By:
Yes. Hennesy I believe also.
Where did u get warren from |

Reading some of these old treads is enjoyable and informative. At least the ones where ou don't ake a fool of yoursef with predictions.

carlos was very wild in his predictions. Have a butchers at what one wise owl said. I can't seem to remember who:
![]() Wel done Tyson lad. Showed plenty of heart when it mattered but don't think Chisora's agricultural style is anywhere near world class. He would have embarrassed himself against Wlad. Fury needs to get back in the gym, get quality sparring and give it another couple of years and if he keeps improving he could well be our next heavyweight world champion. He doesn't need to rush because there isn't much outside the Klitschko's and they aren't getting any younger. |

Finally Fury is getting recognition
|

WD Tyson. Ur still on track to you target
|

Fury is garbage. As if Chisora is some sort of reputable benchmark!
Heavyweight boxing currently is a joke. |
|
By:
Fury still brilliant in a sh1t way

Could not believe it wen I saw this thread.
Was so pi ssed of Cus backed fury on pts at 3.35 on ere. Thought the ref and crowd were awful. Ref asking both fighters to get going. Klit does it all the time, chisora fought his heart out. Wat exactly do u want him to do Crowd booing was awful to. If u dnt like watching sweet science then dnt watch it. Dnt be disrespectfull to chisora who at the time was taking a pasting |

Perhaps we shouldn't celebrate too early. David Price could be waiting round the corner.

Eeternal - a few on here now need to wake and realise how good the lad is. A few argued with us about David Price -

Yep. Can you believe one of the mugs said this:
Im not biased at all - im from london so not a one eyed scouse fan. Price has got genuine boxing skills as proved by his olympic medal. Just compare the techniques to see who has the better skills - you dont know what you are talkin about if you cant see Price has more potential He's probably still holding on to his Harrison and Price double for world champs. ![]() |

27 year old beat a has been 40 year old, who looked every bit his age, nothing to get excited about tbh.

There's always one. You'd think he'd be celebrating after cleaning up.

No one said he was finished before the fight started. The 39yr old was 1/4. Fury will make all other challengers look the same |

I hope my old mate carlos is raising a glass tonight.
|

By:
He just needs to keep his head right, prepare well for future fights and he'll get at least 10% better just for holding the belts. Knowing how he operates he could come in in Buster Douglas shape against Holy Man. That's the gamble.
|
|
By:
There's always one what, opposite opinion, lol.
Klitchko fights bums normally and at 40 years old he's been getting slower and less motivated in his performances, probably even relieved Fury beat him, you can't really think Fury is a special boxer, at best he is workmanlike and that's exactly how he won, it was hardly great technical or edge of the seat stuff. The heavyweight division was terrible and now it's got even worse. |
|
By:
For some reason people don't want to except how good Tysons boxing skills are.
|
|
By:
If you thought Wlad was a has been you must have skinned the bookies scandinavian.
The fact is that Fury set Wlad a connundrum with his longer reach and head movement and Wlad didn't really set about solving it until way too late. Wlad has always set guys up behind the jab but Fury got his jab in first and when Wlad sought to impose himself behind the jab Fury made him miss. Fury fought a great fight to beat Wlad and it's poor form not to acknowledge that fact. Of course he'll fight differently depending on the opponent. |
|
By:
Whilst Fury was changing stance and did a job on him executing his uncle's plan, let's keep it in perspective, he wasn't a rank outsider with no hope so it was hardly a clean up job, Klitchko has never been a great boxer, he's made a career out of beating absolute nobodies who you wouldn't recognise if they walk past you in the street, and his become a millionaire doing so, Fury has beaten a guy who is old, slow, unmotivated and way past his prime.
|
|
By:
Well you certainly get the award for biggest after timer. Some of us posted our thoughts before the fight. In fact some of us were saying he had the tools several years ago. Few people if any suggested Wlad was gone at the game. How easy it all is after the event.
|
|
By:
You can't say Wlad was years past his prime.
Late 30s Wlad was a far better fighter than late 20s Wlad. |
|
By:
Like bald men arguing over a comb.
Fury is very, very limited. Wlad is past his limited and robotic prime. Heavyweight boxing is, and has, been in the doldrums for years. Fury has done well to get where he is and hearty congratulations to him. However, lets see it for what it is. Average. |
|
By:
Well done to Tyson Fury. A case of being the right man in the right place at the right time. Klitschko has been in decline since the passing of Manny Steward and it was only a matter of time before he got found out. Fury boxed well but i have a feeling his reign will be short lived as both Wilder and Joshua are way too good for him.
As for Klitschko, he should be ashamed at the pitiful defence he put up here. He doesnt deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Joe Louis, Floyd Paterson and Lennox Lewis, |
|
By:
So you filled your boots then Farmer by backing Fury.
Fury would Jab Wilders head off, that is if Wilder would fight him.Talk of Joshua fighting Fury is plain stupid, why would Eddie Hearn want to pitch AJ against Fury when he can fight nobody's on ppv |
|
By:
Wilder is athletic and can hit reasonably hard farmer but he's a Michael Grant type for me which is why he's fighting average fighters and building up his bank balance. He wouldn't have dreamt of fighting Wlad and I look forward to him taking on Fury if he has the stones. If Joshua answers the two questions about chin and stamina then he could be the complete package but he doesn't need to rush things. He needs a couple more years moving up gradually and then he could really set the division alight.

Lot of aftertimers on trying to crab Fury's victory by saying Wlad was past it and crap. Just need to accept Fury is a far better boxer than they thought.
To think the bookies priced him up against price at the 10/3 mark and he was even bigger against Haye (may not have won but always thought that was the wrong price). |
|
By:
farmer - have u seen the boys Wilder has been fighting? Not one of them Top 10 boxers. Eric Molina, et al. AJ is the same. Do u remember people shouting about David price? Look what happened to his career. Until u step up and fight the best then at present all u have is questions. Fury has done what many others have failed to do.
|
|
By:
you cant knock the man.
He is very entertaining, and made the most of his abilities, and fought very well against a world champion who was undefeated in over 10 years. Good luck to him. He is also now the IBF, WBA and WBO Heavyweight Champion of the World!!! |
|
By:
Kriskin - I have seen the guys that Wilder has been fighting. The truth is that there is very little depth in the heavyweight division right now. Who has Fury fought other than Klitschko? Even Klitschko himself has been fighting bums for the past few years with the exception of Povetkin, so i am not sure what point you are trying to make
|
|
By:
My point is Fury has beaten the best around. Wilder & AJ have NOT. That is my point. Furey is currently the best around by a long way. Others need to step up

Did it in the end.
