Poet's Voice gentlemen, the way to go I'd have thought, a lot more ability than he ever got to show due to his inability to settle and he still got a Group 1, and whatsmore, a prestige Group 1. By a sire who's progeny are good at 2, but get even better at 3. I t all depends on the fee I suppose but I can't see anything not to like about this fella.

This is rather depressing. The rationale might be that they're using good mares to him and thus his fee cant be too low but why put people off at 10k+. How many £40k+ yearlings is he going to have with no runners - a dozen? E & E was one of a handful of UK sires (almost) guaranteeing a profit for a decent foal but not at £20k. Next it'll be Kyllachy back up to £12k and Dutch Art £10k. Clearly 2 years of being reasonable was enough.

I suppose Exceed and Excel will go on? I just have a slight worry though as he hasn't always been the easiest commercially and there have been times when temperament doubts amongst other things have made him tricky. A quieter year and those doubts resurfacing could make a silly fee now look very expensive down the line. . .
Cape Cross gets you a runner, tightens up a mares dodgy conformation and has never been short of goodwill from breeders looking to start a nice mare off to a good start. Sales were a bit more solid this year so I suppose you can see the rationale in keeping him static. Darley are certainly not quite the benefactors they may have appeared pre 2010.

I'm very disappointed in there fees this year only interesting two for me are Ravens Pass and Kheleyf. I just hope that its not Suroor who gets the best Ravens Pass's as it could be his downfall. Teofilo got a big rise and i'm not so sure it was justified, saw Parish Hall before and he wasn't that impressive to me. Crazy prices for Dubawi and for one of my favourites Shamardal. Exceed and Excel might get to many stoute mares might not suit. I've heard of a couple of irish breeders going to support Kheleyf big this year
