Candleshoe has a terrible draw stuck out on the wide outside so although I agree with yr views this tempers my enthusiasm. I personally like Laureldean Spirit but it could be a long last 100 yards |

the only horse i am interested in today is ZABEEL TOWER in the 8.20 at musselburgh ran better than finishing position last time out and is off a winning mark wont mind any rain either will probably do it e/w about 4/1.loves musselburgh as well which is a big plus. |

ben that horse you put up at newbury runs today TUKITINYASOK 2.55 chester. as long as the going is good and it doesnt get any softer
i think it could make all from the 1 stall . ran a blinder last time out in ground that would have hated. i make it the bet of the day. any thoughts. |

Cheers tlp, didn't notice that running. Don't usually bet on Nurserys this time of year unless I've noted one down. Should be able to make all from the plum draw, perhaps didn't see out the 7f on soft last time.

ASATEER for me today in the 4.15 at nottingham .
being by alharth these horses usually improve out of sight as 3yos. i just hope there is still some juice in the ground at nottingham. as he will need to get his toe in .is only around the 5or6 to 4 mark . but that could look a big price after the race .i will time the first couple of races to make sure the ground is not too fast .then i will bet. wouldnt worry about him hanging a couple of times as that would have been down to the fast ground he encountered . any thoughts lads. |

Barry Hills seems to have found the perfect opportunity for him there, looks a poor race with a dodge pot the only opposition!
Some beautifully bred horses at Newbury today, Cultivar (brother to African Rose) and also Manhattan Fox in the 1:20. Won't back either though because the market suggests neither are ready but worth following if they show something today. I was at Ascot when Pounced was second and from memory he should have won that race, not bothering today though at the price. In the 1:50 the money for the Meehan horse, Harvest Dancer is noted, his only seem to win first time out if they are backed although a bit of rain would be prefered I would have thought. The Godolphin horse Najd holds more appeal the way their two year olds are going this season, obviously got someone different training them this year by the looks of things. Don't fancy Spa's Dancer, think that needs further. My big fancy for the day is Oasis Knight, should enjoy the step up in trip and the visor shows they are looking to win rather than get him fit. |

Impressed with Cultivar, I'd expect it to win next time, both those maidens look useful though and the Hamdam owned horses along with Harevest Dancer all looked promising, good to see some exciting prospects coming out in the last week or so. |

Would follow both those maidens some really nice looking horses in the paddock that will come on for the run - Esaar will certainly benefit from the experience some of those further back will also be nice horses in time.

lots of good racing today to watch at york and thats what ill be doing
watching it the only bet i wll be having today is RAGDOLLIANA E/W in the 8.10 at worcester best judged on her 2nd to rhinestone ruby 2 starts ago as she didnt handle the much softer ground last time. although it looks like r.r. let the form down last time i dont think this is the case as im pretty sure the ground was all against it then. p.s 11/2 with hills is a bet to nothing imo. happy punting. |

Cheers Brad, I'll have a look in a bit. Any York fancies today, quite fancied Mo Mhuirnin in the 4:40, shaped like she should stay and her last race has been boosted well. Trainer likes a York winner as well.

Ok Brad. Just had a look at that maiden, Benny The Bear looks a great shout. He's very closely rated to The Bear who went on soft and he only has to improve around 5lbs from first time out to win this imv. The fact he was such a big price lto suggests he might. Looks a good sout and I'll probably have a little on.

just in brad and seen your post the thing i noticed about benny the bear is the damsire being namaqualand . if you spit on the ground this lot dont go on it so i wouldnt give up on this horse yet if its one you
have been following. on to york i like warringah today in the ebor .i also think the lay of the day is changingoftheguard i know it has won twice on good to firm but i still think the ground could find it out here . |

Funny you should bring this back up, The Bear won yesterday at about 7/2 (iirc) on soft ground. There's not been much interesting me since before York tbh, tomorrow looks pretty pathetic as well! 4 maidens and a Nursery at Newmarket on Friday could be interesting :)

Readin it, you didn't like Benny because of the dam sire but the other half is soft loving. The Bear's a half sister to Benny's dam and is trained by Linda Perratt.
What do you think about Changingoftheguard's Leger chances, I thought like you he could be better for a bit of cut? |

i think obrien will win the race ben he could have picked it up no bother
with fame and glory so he is not going to let it slip past him. its straightforward for me changingoftheguard defo needs cut in the ground imo and age of aquarius needs fast ground its between these 2 ill try and suss out what the ground looks like being in the lead up to the race and back accordingly before j.murtagh picks his mount coz whatever he picks will shorten greatly thats for sure. |

Excuse me for butting in, chaps. I often read through this forum where, remarkably enough for BF (!), the chat is well informed and sensible. I dont post here cos my knowledge about breeding is way behind most of yours.
OK, crawling over, on to the question I should like to ask....... :-) One facet I am interested in is the record of Exceed and Excel on the AW. He has a good strike rate and almost half of his reach the first 4. I wonder if anyone can tell me about his record in more detail, ie between the tracks/surfaces. I would hazard that he does better on Polytrack than fibresand? Failing that, being pointed in the direction of some sites where I might access this sort of info would be a good start. Thanks |

Hey mate, All Weather's not really my thing so I can't really help you with regards to the different surfaces. Someone else on here should be able to, also Raceform Interactive covers stats like that I believe, although it's subscription, maybe put a call out on the main forum?

dont usually bet on a/w lads but i really like this 1 today
ADELE BLANC SEC 3.50 lingfield . nice 1st run at windsor but the main thing about the race is i cant see rakaan as he is bred to want a much softer surface than this and after a couple of runs on fast ground i dont think he will fancy this. any thoughts. |

Don't think he fancies any sort of race given his most recent performances, think you would be mad to back Rakaan although he certainly has the ability if he wants to put it in!
