Oasis Dancer and kona Coast, both look nice horses he really is a great sire, sons of his will be popular too.
By:
They benefited from a maissve draw bias, I personally don't think they are going to be much good to follow.
By:
ben, Yes thats true, what did you think of Alfed Nobel, remember me saying Danehill Dancer was in with a good chance of being champion sire on both the main and 2 y'old tables, well now he looks like taking them.Steinbeck going for the Dewhurst, but he wont be getting my money!
By:
Yeah I'd take leave Steinbeck in the Dewhurst will be a prep to get him used to the track. Would expect Cape Blanco to be the number 1 contender for them.
Alfred Nobel was way better than the result and travelled so well. Imagine he'll be involved next May too. Danehill Dancer has had a great season and has really come good now he gets the mares. |
By:
*I'd leave Steinbeck
By:
You are right about Cape Blanco, think A.Nobel ran very well can also see him at HQ next may.

I was told this morning that O.Dream is going to be 65k for the 2010, but ive no way of confirming that.Has anyone else herd this?a sharp rise but given his results still looks top notch, better than Dansili.
By:
3 more 2yo maiden winners at Newmarket and all could be very useful next year.
By:
Any word yet on his stud fee.
I must say I have been really impressed with OD as a sire this year. I suppose he is with Chevely Park. Pivotal has been doing them proud. A change from the Godolphin/Coolmore axis. |
By:
Oasis Dream stands at Banstead Manor in Newmarket he is one of the Juddmonte stallions, but a bit better than Pivotal IMO
By:
Standing for 65k next year,a big rise but a big sire who is red hot.Watch out Pivotal he will take your mares,Juddmonte have got him spot-on,the next Danehill IMO
By:
Yeah heard his fee had nearly doubled on ATR today.
The Cat asked Dougs today who would he send a mare to if he had the choice of: 1) STS 85k 2) OD £65k The Cat said OD as it was proven and cheaper. I wouldn't know the answer to that one!! |
By:
Add a Breeders Cup winner to the list.
By:
And a Breeders Cup winner at 10 furlongs, proving that he can sire top class winners from 5 to 12 furlongs, surely a great boost to his stud value.
By:
At the moment Aqlaam seems to be the only son of his going to stud.Does any one know if either Captain Gerrard or Naquoos are going to stud? The way Oasis Dream is going both IMO would find a welcome slot in th new sire ranks.
By:
Oasis Dream seems pretty dear when you look at Coolmores Fees for next season
By:
Coolmore are no fools they will get plenty of mares with these prices,Im pretty sure you can deal on the keep too,O.Dream does look a touch top heavy tonight, along with Pivotal.

By:
how good would a oasis dream colt have to be to go to Stud ? especially one by a guineas winner and a half brother to a G1 winner
By:
zoozee.Whitch one are you talking about?By a guineas winner half bro' to another.
By:
i bought dream win, oasis dream out of wince, half brother to quiff.
According to RP its a gelding, but accoringing to the pair of dangly things he is still a colt. |
By:
Maybe the RP were giving them a hint....
Are you part of Koo's Racing Club, or are you Koo..!? Good buy for 10k if he's sound imo. |
By:
Its Koo, yeah hes perfectly sound. No signs of any old injury either. Had a canter up the gallop 2 days after the sale.
With breeding like that and a sound horse, you cant help but dream. HIs mothers half brother Ulundi went for peanuts as well untried at Judmonte, so heres hoping another one has slipped the net. |
By:
Such an interesting horse the more I look at it. If he's perfectly fine I'd chuck him in a mile maiden on the AW and see how he gets on, in terms of handicaps he'd probably get 75 or a bit higher if he won, even if he didn't though it would be near that imo. If he wins probably look to put him away but I reckon he'd just about get 2 miles over hurdles and maybe it's worth getting him schooled because I think he'd get the trip and could be a good horse, particularly in the juvenile division at Northern tracks where a lot of trainers just hope for the best :p . Anyway think I'm getting ahead of myself :) but looks a smashing buy and you're sure to get loads of interest in shares. Not really sure about the stallion thing, he needs to show something (although hurdles wins could make him interesting for NH breeders). Good luck, I'll be looking out for him whatever he does :)

Naaqoos goes to stud in France at 6000 euros, for a GR1 winning 2 y'old son of O.Dream out of a Machivellian mare he looks a nice prospect wish he was over here.
By:
Should have kept him in training as a 4yo, always thought he would have made a good sprinter , if trained for sprint races.
By:
Just been looking at the new sires for 2010 and spotted Naaqoos standing in France for 6000e , and was wondering if he would be popular, see you got there first ( PD ), will be interesting to see how sons of Oasis Dream get on at stud. Especially one that was as good as Naaqoos as a 2yo.
By:
Don't forget Aqlaam push
By:
Dream Win been a little disappointing Koo, maybe doesn't act around Southwell, wouldn't be the first!
By:
Aqlaam was not as precocious as Naaqoos, and did suffer from a few injuries, therefore you have to ask was he sound ?
By:
Hancocks Law ( Ashford stud ) 5 Laws when looking for a potential stallion.
1, Must have shown good 2yo form. 2, Must show stays 1m2.5f 3, Must be sound. 4, Must look masculline 5, Must have right kind of pedigree. Would agree with points 1, 3, 5. Any one agree ? |
By:
I did look into sending one to Naaqoos I do like him and im sure he will go down well at the sales, but its a bit complex in getting the mare over to france all the faffing about once at the stud so I gave up,wish they stood him in ireland,27 euro a day keep for a barren you have to have her in france and miss the first heat they then take all swabs and bloods before they will cover but you have to do all this yourself first,so as you can imagine I said 'thanks but no thanks'
By:
Push,Hancocks Law,yes I agree with 1 2 and 3 now as a cheap stallion,Baltic King he fits those, thats why im sending him one this year.
By:
god im half asleep forget No2.
By:
:)
By:
5 looks highly subjective to me
By:
No 4, I saw Oasis Dream at Haydock for the sprint cup , he is / or was not then a very big horse, also saw Invincible Spirit there , he was a masculine looking horse. :)
By:
Oasis Dream is not a big horse, nor is he a typical sprinter type. He is quite small but has a lot of quality. He is muscular without 'bulk' and looks stronger sideways on then when stood in front of him.
When Simon Mockridge took me to see him in his paddock, one thing I noticed was how he was always on the go. Simon told me he has always been like this, he never really settles in the field and has a track in a figure 8 that he walks around all day. I saw Captain Gerrard at the Feb sale and he seems a very similar type physically to his sire. I have a couple of OD's and they would be fairly typical as well, strong horses but not coarse or bulky. Also at the Feb sale was a mare from the immediate family. She again was smallish with muscle but not width. She was well bought by Luke Lillingston for very shrewd judge and breeder Seamus Burns. |
By:
Yes, size does not seem to matter as far as Oasis Dreams are concerned, i was reading a review of Showcasing , his trainer J.Gosden said he is very similar to his sire in size and temperament, and will be aimed at the top sprint races as a 3yo.
I saw Anabaa at Newmarket for the July Cup, another from the Danzig sire line, and he was a monster , massive deep chest, Pivotal, and Danehill Dancer were also in that race . |
By:
Business as usual for OD, impressive winner of the Listed race Guineas trial , on Heavy ground ( Keredari ).
