The poor lass is a depressive character, it's what causes her overeating. The first few weeks she was happy and chirpy and gave people an idea of what could be, but it was just the stimulation of a new environment.
Now she's reverted to type and waddles around with a duve looking miserable. With Sam she should have had one bash at anger and then, if he continued, laugh it off and ignore him. I think it's how Corin would have handled him. |

For what it's worth (and I have no interest in trading insults, but more than happy to hear alternative views), I have Josie and Corin closer in the betting than the odds currently imply.
This morning I noticed that Lads were longest about Corin and shortest about Josie and I can see where they are coming from. There is something of 'every woman' about Josie who is facing the aged old dilemma of being 'in love/fancying' a man who she suspects/knows doesn't really fancy her, but who is clinging on pretty certain that ultimtely she is going to get rejected. There are any number of scenarios that could play out that could not only scupper the chances of Josie, in which case, in all probability, Corin is the default winner. However, there are enough scenarios out there which would make the 'Josie story' by far the most compelling narrative in this year's Big Brother. Personally (and this is only my view), I found Josie more interesting and more entertaining than Corin. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Corin (I thought she was brilliant with the Tree of Temptation for instance), but for me, there is something slighgtly one-dimensional about her - almost like she has been written as a character who works behind the bar at the 'Rovers Return' - think Bet meets Elsie. If Corin wins then good luck to her. She will have deserved to have won, but my instinct suggests that there is more mileage in Josie at the current prices. Of course, I could be wrong. Regards to All. |

I agree 100% LG
Corin has had no story, and cant be manufactured one. She is far too stepford wife for me. I cant identify with her at all, and would prefer Josie as a mucker any day of the week. ![]() Josie is suffering in there, needs help, and like sophie has lost some of her sparkle, but she is still funny, vulnerable and like you said 'every woman' at some point or other, be it weight, hair, looks, un-requited love or even a monthly mood swing. Corin has none - she is just funny, but it seems contrived to me. Just my opinion fwiw. |

The average BB voter is young and female.
The majority of these will be any of the following - overweight, plain, insecure. Josie is young, down to earth, easy to talk to, witty, sharp, defends her corner, overweight, plain, insecure. These are the reasons I lumped on at double figures and haven't traded any back. She and Corin will both be in the final and one or other will win. LOL @ Corin being 'slightly' one dimensional. She is a false favourite, as were the twins ahead of Brian Bellend. Justice was served there and will be again imo. |

Hard to disagree with much of that lg.
Josie's storyline is a big positive for her over Corin, who as you say is more of the tart with the heart behind the bar who gets some funny lines but isn't one of the main characters. I also think the fact she looks 35+ is a negative for her. On the plus side she has few negative personality traits and reasons for people to not want her to win, whereas Josie has many. Josie is sloth like and lazy, doesn't put much effort into the tasks and can have an overly negative, whingey, moaning attitude towards herself and those around her. She's a glass half empty person and those types rarely win these shows. Corin's half glass full, positive attitude is more in line with previous winners. You also have to ask who the Prods would prefer in the all stars. I assume they will want a celebratory 2 weeks and someone like corin buzzin and luvin it will possibly be more to their liking than a downbeat Josie pining for JJ. It will be interesting to see who gets the plum tasks. My money would be on corin. |

I do worry about where the ceiling is for Corin's support, as I do have a nagging suspicion it's lower than I and many others would like to think.
For every person that find her funny and endearing, there seems to be another that finds her tedious, irritating and a little bit fake. Certainly enough support to get 2nd, but I'm more unsure about winning. But then the alternatives are just so unappealing. Bizarre year - every housemate has so many flaws. |

Who hasn't had ToT yet? I guess a Dane effect could happen if they give them a really good one.

There could also be a Rodrigo and the queen / Ivana and Kugelfresh award type day still to come.

agree too FLL..... josie does seem to be 'mostly horizontal'.. and it annoys the hell out of me!..
She is also shown quite often just eating - she probably doesnt eat more than Dave, Steve or any of the boys, but they are not shown when stuffing their faces on HL's. Thats a negative. It makes me cringe for her tbh. corins 'half full glass' annoys me too though, seems fake and ignorant - again just my opinion. Personally I would prefer Pepper in the allstars, and I also dont think the JJ&J fanbase is rapidly decreasing and switching to sam pepper, it seems more like the established anti-jjj'ers (and ben fans etc) now have a voice in the show again with supporting pepper. I feel he has taken some of corins temporary fanbase since ben left. |

By:
How important do you think the all stars factor is?
I can't imagine Josie sticking it for another 2 weeks knowing JJ's on the outside, i don't think she'd do it. |
|
By:
I think with JJ & J - you buy one, get one free evictionwise.... if its this week only.
Depends on how much of a game-player either of them are. If they are clever, they would milk the separation for all its worth for a few days, and then have a blast in the final week. I think both would stay tbh. Josie because it would smack JJ in the face over how popular she is (if he doesnt want her) and I think she is after the cash. JJ doesnt need the cash, but would like to be loved as he wants to live here. Not sure he would be really arsed unless they manage to put some legends in. Pepper and Corin would enjoy allstars (pepper because he hasnt had a long stretch, so is still fresh) and corin just because... I think the allstars is a potentially very different factor, and would make me think on finals night. |
|
By:
I would have thought it was very important to them.
They'd want someone who was certain to actually go in for starters. They must have their doubts over JJ and Josie. |
|
By:
leveller - I don't think the JJJ fanbase is rapidly decreasing, but I do think there's a slow drift away from and Sam will benefit a fair amount if that continues.
I agree he's also picking up plenty of votes from Corin. |
|
By:
a slow drift away from JJJ*
|
|
By:
Why has Josie suddenly become a big market mover? I've not followed things since Fri night's eviction and struggling to understand why Josie is being backed and Corin has drifted out. Surely John James should be at 4.3 rather than Josie if people are going down the line of thinking JJ's army of teenage fans can help him on to outright victory.

she had a good show last night jr, and has been a bit self depreciating, whilst also warming to Sam a bit (well defrosting is a better word) and stopping with the strop.

great post lg. shame we haven't heard more from you over the course of the show.

jr - I think the small drift on Corin is justified, as Pepper coming in has stolen some of her vote.
So someone had to shorten. With JJ getting fairer edits with them showing exposing his negative traits more and more, the market didn't think it should be him. It's settled on Josie, who you could maybe justify a small move for from the 8 on friday to maybe 6 now, but the 4.3 is ridiculous. As you say, JJ is the one the tweenies absolutely adore and many won't vote for anyone if he goes, which I think he could this week. Some will switch to Josie, but also plenty will go Sam and Corins way. Especially Sam, who is the stand out value in the field now for me. |
|
By:
thanks fll - a day is certainly a long time in BB world. I'm baffled as to how the vote transference is calculated.
I'm still red on Josie and am not about to start backing her. I cannot have her winning this series. If she does, I'll take the hit and say well done to those who did back her. |
