Hi JR, how did you get on at HQ? Good start here with the first couple of races, prob the same for you. Cecil runners really did me yesterday. I thought they both looked pretty mediocre on form and felt there should be something to beat them.

hi squares - managed to make a small profit. Backed Spanish Duke, Morning Charm & Titbit. Thought that old rogue Redford was going to win for a minute. I'm a huge Cecil fan so annoyed to miss out on Plato - he did look exposed, but there was money for him and I came close to joining in the gamble, figuring he may improve for racing on soft ground over 12f. And so it proved.
It was a top day - they have improved the Premier enclosure at the July Course out of all recognition, and nice to have room to see horses, get to the bar etc. |
|
By:
Have you not been there since they expanded all that bar area out the back and added all those wooden buildings?
There were really quiet on Saturday. Friday nights they are heaving. |

go every year squares but it seems to look better each time - think they have expanded Premier since last year, made improvements with bar areas, and food options much better than they were (but I'm talking there about the general admission bit where all the eateries are). Much prefer it when it's quieter - Friday's are too packed out to be enjoyable. Yesterday was like a throwback to going racing there circa 1988 when it was a handful of racegoers - with 2 Cecil winners just like the old days!!!

Corin backers should be worried imo.

BBOL is becoming a bit of a joke lately.
Clearly their articles are written with their bets in mind, which appear to be unsuccessful bets on the whole. Yet still their poll has 35% against Corin 65% postive, which is better than the Belo poll ;) |
|
By:
FLL, you should probz try to get one opinion fixed in your mind and never move away from it, despite all the evidence to the contrary. This will probz make you a winner in the long term.
Sigh. Corin WILL NOT win. She is a vacuous orange buffoon. HTH |

Here comes Josie...
Chatterbox Rachel has now gone, but who's your favourite housemate as we go into Week 9? Andrew 1% Corin 21% Dave 5% Jo 1% Joe John/ JJ2 1% John James 29% Josie 20% Mario 2% Sam 19% Steve 1% |

With antogonistic posts like the above it makes me wish I had started a new thread about Josie rather than come in on yours. Why be so unpleasant? We all get it right some times and we all get it wrong at other times. Corin could easily win this event and how stupid would we look then? |
|
By:
You are more than welcome to join my Josie thread lg, lovely to see you are still around mate.
FWIW five leaves left (one of the most respected posters on here IMO) and most who bought Corin at the big prices will have had ample opportunity to not only green up their books, but make this a winning BB regardless of the outcome. |

As this is a Josie thread, has anyone been keeping a calendar for PMT/blob watch. Anything due any time soon?

DS will tell you squares
I think she has had about 4 so far! ![]() |

Nadia won in a canter and as unnatural as it was, appeared to be on blob most of the time.
He/she made Josie look like Mother Theresa. |

One "big" reason why Nadia could get away with it tho.

Was it because she was Portuguese?

At what time do we all think the favourites will flip flop today please? Sometime around 9.30pm imo.
I suggest a few of you return to the top of this thread. Learn the game thickets |

Let the records show the correct answer was...
12.15pm, Tuesday 10 August I thank you |

When it comes down to it I think Corin will take this in a hack canter - and for pretty much same reasons that Sophie won last year. All the opposition have huge negatives against them and she only has minor negatives so will pick up all the positive support she has (substantial) and face very little negative opposition. I don't think it will be all that close in the end.
|
|
By:
Could add that with the tragedy she has faced in her real life, she is a very 'deserving' winner too.
|
|
By:
Hopefully Corin's girlfriend helped her get over the tragedy, boefore the caring Corin publicly dumped her on national tv by going for a couple of the housemates.
Her real life tragedy almost makes Stevo's real life tragedy pale into insignificance shrewd [;)] |
|
By:
Stevo had plenty to do with his own fate - Corin's was pretty cruelly thrust on her, big difference. Personally I would rather lose both legs than lose a spouse (who she has obviously never fully got over, hence the strange change in sexuality).
I know what you're saying about her OH, but I don't think the public have really latched onto this, and she can be forgiven a lot given her past if that is an issue at all. |

Mystic Chompy thread quotes....
Give it until Wednesday imo - FACT. Actually, make that Tuesday... Actually, make that Monday... Actually, make that about 11pm Sunday imo... could u hedge your bets anymore??? and amazing how u suddenly realise this pearl of wisdom after she starts falling quickly in the market. not exactly ahead of the game. what a tool. |
|
By:
Stevo served his country and suffered as a consequence.
From the way Corin has chased unibrow and then JJ in the small amount of time she has been in there, she wouuld appear to have recovered in some way. (her girlfriend will also testify to this) She is hardly acting like the Greek widows and wearing black for the rest of her life. FWIW I would say that currently Steve has the most to put up with in his life. |
|
By:
Well I suppose it's debateable - they've both faced difficult things in their lives for sure.
She isn't acting like a widow I agree, but I don't really see this as a negative in the competition - the fact that she can be the positive person she is despite what happened to her, and hold very little signs of bitterness (which she would be entitled to do) are huge positives for her. |
|
By:
Agreed shrewd, I'm not totally sure about how many of the finals night voters will know her full story, whereas Steve's is always there on display.
Anyway, a Josie win and Stevo for top male will do me nicely. There's a lot more twists to come in this, best of luck mate |
|
By:
It's been covered in some of the national rags, so I reckon most of the BB voters would know about it.
|

with the flip flop tuesday that now leaves an extra day for another flip flop, i predict(guess not wanting to be a big head) tonight

Her real life tragedy almost makes Stevo's real life tragedy pale into insignificance shrewd Corin took the fact that the GF wasn't in the vid from home that she was the one in fact dumped therefore justifiably letting her free to do as she wishes. not quite as hard just feckin it off IMO. |
|
By:
Corin said she thought here girlfriend was not there because of her actions in the house. I think at that stage she was drooling over unibrow.
|
|
By:
It is a negative for her chance, but I believe only a minor negative in comparison to the other main runners actual behaviour on the show, JJ1 Josie Sam etc...Sam's biggest negatives are that he's been very aggravational and is also barely doing a 25% stint on the show, the other two's negatives are well known now.
