is Cable Beach the stables replacement of Terror To Love???

trialled sensationally before his stunning debut win Friday at Addington, home in 26.4
a 4yo so he's either had a few issues or they've been very patient
a half brother to Bonavista Bay by Somebeachsomewhere so has the breeding

what does this have to do with NZ Harness racing = NOTHING
just some interest bets and something to watch between races/study
NZ does have a pro surfer Ricardo Christie but he's struggled in the big time
he's paying 4.0 in a three horse race but is unders IMO

ok back on topic.....cup hope Te Kawau

a big fan of this horse and thought he had a ruff chance in the cup as he's a promising stayer
any way, backed him most starts, had a bit of a crack on him in the Methvern Cup Sunday
just hasn't been himself and very disappointing 5th when he had every chance
stable were a bit perplexed by his underperforming, needed a vet check, blood done etc.  Well here's a new one, apparently he's been in the same paddock as his little brother.  Well the little shizenhauser has been "picking on him" wtf
a new way to do your dough HORSE WAS PICKED ON AND WAS STRESSED OUT!!! bugger me I thought a horse shying at camel crap on the track took the cake but now I know just like people some horses are bullies.  So he's now sooked off to another paddock where he's free of the pest.  Guess he's off the sacked list now.
Maybe he needs a wee pony buddy or Blackie can loan him Simon.
Back on track? we shall see.

Report Village Kid October 24, 2015 12:25 PM BST
not surprised Trotman, I've never meet "Ace" but he interviews really well
and comes across as a decent/nice bloke, he may not be a "big name" surfer
but he's always dangerous and deserves his place on the elite circuit
the very average conditions in this comp caught me out, a big WIPE OUT
have to regroup for the last comp of the year at Pipe, a real horses for courses track

Philadelphia Man in the QPC = the layers knew, he's just a horse I can never back
my first "vibe" was right, way too short from the wide gate

Henry Master Lavros does better against Stent the further they go
focusing on the Dominion Handicap seems a smart move

as it normally is the 3yo Sires will be a highlight on NZ Cup day
Lavarus is a serious horse, Purdon rates him ahead of Waikiki Beach in the 3yo division
with the depth there is they will go ballistic like usual

I would tend to back them and hope they get a good start?

pretty short though @ 1.28 currently
maybe back the AB's -7.5 @ 1.77 or -3.5 @ 1.43
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE October 24, 2015 1:14 PM BST
I think they'll win and deserve to win because the All Blacks of the last say 6 years or so have been the greatest Rugby team in history.

In this WC they've had nothing but training runs. France were embarrassing. Ths Springboks will be a 1000x tougher. Can they handle the step up? Yeah probably. But you're only getting 1.28. I'm going for the $5+ for the bokke. You never know. Those handling errors we saw in the All Black warm up games might reappear. Also no one is un-beatble forever.
Report Village Kid October 24, 2015 1:22 PM BST
I might stay out and just enjoy the game instead of worrying about the betting

I'm with you on this. Often gambling on rugby games that I feel strongly about spoils it for me. I don't need the bother. It's stressful enough.

Not for New Zealanders obviously they have no stress because they always win. They probably just stress about when the golden era will be over. Not any time soon.

Not sure what to make of that at first look?

Smolda had the best run in the race and took care of business. Ohoka Punter good, Tiger Tara probably as good after working for the front. Sky Major probably did enough after being too far back on straightening.

Not sure we got any answers from that group going into the great race
Report Aussie Driver October 26, 2015 3:21 AM GMT
And what is worse, the best 6 horses in the southern hemisphere are ALL kiwis currently, and only one of those is any chance to come for this Inter. As I said at the time, it just can't be held in Perth, again we will only get a second tier field in our Inter (although I wish we could get the BEST field with the old format) :-(

Trotman this is for you

From your favourite track ASHBURTON

HAVE FAITH IN ME last half 52.4
SKY MAJOR last half 52.8

this phenomenon is caused by exceptionally good horses running down a 14 degree gradient
from the 800 to the winning post
there is also the "North Wester tailwind factor" this is a strong dry warm wind that blows across
Canterbury caused by moisture rising over the Southern Alps on the west coast causing a vacuum effect.
It is very common around this time of year.  The wind can be so warm that is was 32C in Kiakoura a few weeks ago.  A day when it was 16C in Wellington which isn't that far away as the crow flies although I've never seen a crow in NZ or a huntsman spider, a big cockroach or a snake for that matter.

in the Kiakoura Cup I would really like to see TE KAWAU back to his best but drawing the pole worries me
as he can be a bit suss at the start but if he steps he's right in it
if MOSSDALE CONNOR's recovered from his tuff run for a massive 3rd last Monday and he puts in a similar effort he'll be hard to beat, should lead and run along as he does
ARDEN ROONEY scorched the earth when he won this race last year as favourite for the All Stars
good to see Kerryn Manning back here with him, was impressive last start and looks on target
he flew over last night with Corzin Terror
MESSINI looks the only other genuine hope which is hardly revealing as they are the four faves!

how do you make money? this is the question as betting at Kiakoura isn't just about the awesome scenery
I may back TE KAWAU 1x3 in a **** bet and hope and pray he steps ok
but logic tells me it's Mossdale Connor trying to hold on with Arden Rooney and Messini coming at him late

but times change and now they're on youtube
as a youngen I'd go to Addington and watch about 15 plus trials and note the one's running just
behind them under a stranglehold and wanting to do another lap, you would also see the one's who stepped well
to this day it was the best source of winners I've ever had

this one time bonny wee trotting mare Tussle was getting ready at the Addington trials
before heading to Auckland for the Rowe Cup.  She was off 60m and begun so fast that
she was in front after the length of the straight.  I had the biggest bet of my life
so far on her after all the so called experts I knew told be I was mad.
Yes of course she won, paid $4.40 or something

I used to go to the Albion Park trials with a laptop and the late Lou Cini would give me
such a hard time that I'd just take a clipborad and stopwatch like everyone else

that's why it was fave tonite, I rate ARTFORM better but he drew the outside, may have to reassess
they clash with the freakish LAZARUS in the sires on Cup day, incredible depth in the kiwi 3yo department

forgotten horse FOR A REASON ran a cracking 3rd in the NZ Cup last year
the word on the street is he's "thriving" on the beach in W.A. for Greg & Skye Bond
I've backed him e/w for the Inter, as this inter is just plain WEIRD.............IMO
apparently any kiwi's who run in the big Cup have to miss the NZ FFA on Showday (Friday) to make it to Perth
obviously strange things happen when they cross the Nullarbor, grow legs, lose legs etc
well For A Reason is already there, so seems worth some specking

for racing, a spot of whale watching, checking out the old surf spost, the seal colony and eating crayfish

my email is global, still the same Cool

Wrapped to see Tiger Tara win a big one. I have thought he has been the underrated one for a long time, rates right up with the likes of Sky Major and Ohoka Punter. Excluding Christen Me, that was a collection of the best horses around
