you blokes dead set crack me up !
staking plans are rubbish.! when you have a GOOD THING......UNLOAD.! otherwise, just bet carefully each way, depending on your confidence........ It is FKG easy. Now all GFKD. STAROFTHEMAGI is right here fellas. I have a mate that has put at least a million dollars through the pokies and yes is silly, but he holds no fear. He just says he will earn his wages next week. I know it is the wrong attitude but he sure has balls. I have sat and drank and watched him loose about $500k of that and if I had half the nerve he has or should I say no fear of losing, I would be a multi millionaire backing my fitter horses. No STAROF is right, are you in the punt for a long time, or short time? Get your money, say once a month big time and spend it. Bettting these percentages is for fuddy duddies. If all your home work says this is the best thing this week/month, you unload on it and wait for the next one. Have a go yah mug! |

see VB is a great judge.!!!
tho I must admit my rule usually applies to horses of my own, or something ive clocked. backed 2 of mine on the 18th. one was a cert on his work, won easily, at 14s. Got $28000 out of him, not huge but very nice. backed the other EW at 67s and 28s fixed odds, btn half len. for 2nd. and ran FKG 4th. should just about win next Friday,or sun., wherever I start him. ( Wairu Bay). All GFKD. |

gday es on wairu bay is where 4 horses went over the line within 2 lengths of each other not exactly much of a form line art of the cows good horses win by good margins
|
|
By:
on a more than severe note the lower the benchmark the closer they finish together the less chance any of them are going anywhere real quick the first thought that should enter your 3 k zed as they hit the line it won by a margin have to remember that with limited grey matter only room for good horses names that may at any time replicate previuos performances look what ya started es on

When you see the invisible, you have mastered the art of punting on racehorses

Ahhhhhhh, we've come full circle.......to the truth.
![]() Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Neo: What truth? Spoon boy: There is no spoon. Neo: There is no spoon? Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. |

And so it is with punting, the inflexible will never see the invisible

You're a better man than me Mr LTU, I was on tiltsville, didn't know what fkn day it was, so to answer your question, NO

By:
Not a better man spy ..... i was more than enough decades younger and unaccustomed to emotional control ..... i had quinellas, trifectas, legs in the quaddy, any number of savers going. when the horse got home the relief was so great but i needed a few double scotches to settle down even more. It taught me something though........ to find out the cause of the long run. I've never had a serious bet at Moonee Valley ever since
...... and COMPLETELY SEPARATED all MV data from the other three tracks..... and later.... banned it completely. |

Still no. ![]() |

It won't happen overnight but it might happen, for the majority it never will happen because they don't even try and see what can't be seen, but if you look hard enough it will be seen. Hope that explains it

The biggest trick to the punt, is to not close off your mind to the possibilities.
I don't believe point 1 at all. Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it isn't possible to do. Sure the more you create an expertise about 1 particular thing you increase your chances, but just because you are making a bigger percentage than somebody else, doesn't mean they are losing. A huge part of maximising returns, is ability to read the market. Take a TAB punter for example, that is returning 105% POT. He has managed to overcome a 17% takeout from the TAB and still make 5% on top. He is better than the mob, by over 22%. Now if he is able to get better prices by 5% on average, than he gets on the tote, then he DOUBLES his profit margin. If he can get 10% better, he TRIPLES his profit margin. The secret really isn't in the ability to pick winners at all but your ability to get the best price for your selections. Are you in a position by doing 100 hours a week studying the horses in 1 race to have some sort of an advantage over the combination of a million hours of form study done for the same race that makes up the market? We are dealing with a 100% market here. Simple price chasing is all you really need to back winners to an extent that outweighs your betting turnover. If you get a price 5% better than average on here, then long term you will win, provided You have a sound money management technique. The guy that gets 2.10 about a 2.00 chance with a sound money management technique, has a better chance than the guy getting 100-1 about that same 2.00 chance that goes all in every time. The way I see it, is the hard work has already been done in being handed a 100% market. If you have good money management, then any advantage you can get from whatever means, will add to your ability to make money. The simple fact here, is if you have money management covered, and you are an excellent reader of the market, then you can simply pick a number out of a hat, in every race anywhere in the world, on any code, and you will make money long term. Knowing you can do that, any extra knowledge on top of the number you have to back, can only improve your financial situation. By closing off your mind that your way is the only way, and nobody else could be doing anything differently and still making money, leads to a stale approach. If you don't have the ability to adapt and evolve your betting habits, then you stand the very big risk, that at some point everything you have ever done, will no longer work, and you have nowhere to turn because you have already trained your brain that you can't make money any other way. Not only will it eventually send you broke, assuming that something changes, but the preceding success will cause the same mistakes over and over again. Adapt, evolve, survive. |
