There is nothing sensible or "koala-cuddling" about the Greens.

If you think the wider public are keen on full-time debatess on left wing specialist topics.....such as gay marriage, euthanasia, carbon taxes, death taxes and pulling the pin on investing in our roads - then you are delusional.

The flattening of the Greens vote will happen - and you can thank the current federal predicament for that.  Oh how it warms my heart to think about Lee Rhiannon getting into the national spotlight next year............

It is now apparent, Julia Gillard is becoming more and more shrill with her claims about the Coalition “screaming from the sidelines”.................................

Just a few months ago, Julia Gillard said the Coalition wanted to “let the market rip” but now accuses the Coalition of ‘economic Hansonism’.

Its worthwhile remembering, between 1998 and 2007, Julia Gillard opposed every major economic reform introduced by the Howard Government...............

She opposed the private health insurance rebate. She opposed tax reform. She opposed waterfront reform. She opposed superannuation reform. She opposed successive Howard Government budget decisions designed to reduce government debt.

Julia Gillard is running the most economically incompetent government in living memory.

Having wasted billions of dollars on overpriced school halls racked up mountains of debt and continuing to borrow $100 million every day, Julia Gillard has zero credibility when she talks about economic reform.

The only economic reform Julia Gillard is interested in is imposing higher electricity prices on Australian families through a carbon tax. 

This is an increasingly desperate Prime Minister trying to distract from the seriousness of Labor’s mess............................[>o][>o]

POLITICAL instability has struck Prime Minister Julia Gillard's ministry over allegations about the personal behaviour of a Cabinet minister.

In the first sign of trouble for the minority Labor government, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal an MP has approached Ms Gillard's office to raise concerns about a minister's behaviour.

Senior party figures are concerned by the allegations, fearing they could derail the Government's one-seat majority. But the minister's supporters argue the allegations of poor conduct are part of a concerted campaign to undermine him.

Ms Gillard's office is treating the allegations as manoeuvring about future leadership positions - a dangerous sign for the fledgling government.

A Labor MP told The Sunday Telegraph he decided to alert the Prime Minister's office to the allegations, which had refused to disappear over a long period.

The MP, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he had approached the office more than four weeks ago because he was concerned and thought it prudent to raise the issue.

"I raised it because if you hear things like this, you should make the leadership group aware of what is being said," the MP said.

The MP added that the Prime Minister's office had indicated it was already aware of the allegations.

Another ideologically aligned MP told The Sunday Telegraph the persistent rumours had led some supporters of the minister to reconsider their support.

On Saturday, October 23, the Prime Minister's press secretary, Russell Mahoney, denied any MP had raised concerns with Ms Gillard's office about the allegations.

But yesterday, when The Sunday Telegraph sent Mr Mahoney four questions in writing about whether an MP had alerted the Prime Minister's office to the persistent allegations a month ago, he did not repeat the denial, saying simply: "We don't comment on idle gossip."

But behind the scenes, the issue has been discussed at the highest levels of the Gillard government in the context of a campaign to undermine the minister.

The minister himself has strongly denied any wrongdoing and has said the allegations are untrue.

"I have a categorical denial for you," he told The Sunday Telegraph.

"If you name me, I will sue."

It is understood that Ms Gillard's office is treating the allegations as a political manoeuvre to discredit the minister.

"Someone is behind this. It's political manoeuvring against the minister; these rumours are simply not true," a senior source said.

It is the first sign of disunity at senior levels of the Gillard government since former prime minister Kevin Rudd was ousted on June 24.

Canberra is awash with speculation about the minister's conduct. His behaviour is being discussed openly by Labor MPs, fellow ministers and the backbench.

More than a dozen MPs, ministers and senior party figures have spoken to The Sunday Telegraph about the allegations. Several expressed their concerns about the potential impact on the minority government.

A senior faction leader confirmed he had confronted the minister about the whispering campaign after an enquiry by The Sunday Telegraph and had accepted the minister's denial.

Two key factional backers of the minister said yesterday said he had their full support and any suggestion he had been counselled was untrue.

Off topic a little, but isn't it great to see the Republicans making massive gains in the US mid-terms.

As to the States, terrible result for everyone - we're going have do nothing government for the next 2 years and odds are they'll double dip and drag other parts of the world down with them as a result. Add to that they are electing a bunch of conservative idiots and giving more power to clowns like Murdoch - the whole world will suffer until we fight back

We have a President, in Barack Obama who campaigned on "change" that people could believe in.  A very clever social media campaign which engaged people and brought people a sense of hope in electing the first african-american man as President.

We have a government bereft of any ideas of its own, now targeting the Shadow Treasurer for raising some pretty common sense ideas on giving the ACCC greater powers.

I mean, rather than governing themselves and leading the way - the government, the Labor Gillard Government is spending its days ATTACKING the Opposition.
