If you are looking for an outsider with a chance at the weights you may like to consider this fellow.
Taking the form of his last run at face value he can be said to represent On His Own with 11:8. That horse with that weight would be 20/1 or less. Bucker's Bridge is 66/1. It would appear he has stamina but as he holds an entry in The Topham it may be wise to wait for confirmation of his participation in the Big 'Un before having a flutter.

He's one of the horses you can't fancy with confidence but is also difficult to rule out.

The prices on Betfair suggest he is going for The Topham.
Back to the drawing board.

he is not entered for the topham now.... 50/1 for the GN

I think you can get 66/1 NRNB if you ask nicely.

Comes out towards the top of my list and think 66/1 is a tremendous price.

Market looking ominous Sad

It does look ominous but NRNB is the way to go.
Some doubt his stamina but he has won,and won well,a 3 mile Mickey-Mouse in soft to heavy ground, doing handsprings.See RP form online. If his trainer really doubted his stamina he would be in The Topham rated just 1lb higher.
I am told that he does not have to have heavy ground and one person said that he will be better suited by good ground. That remains to be seen but 66/1 with a run looks value for a small punt .
Report Can't Catch Me April 2, 2014 2:01 PM BST
It certainly does dunlaying. NRNB makes it a no brainer. But the other fly in the ointment is Goonyella. He looks nailed on to get in now, and will connections run two? probably not.
Report shockster April 2, 2014 2:11 PM BST
CCM have done Buckers and Goonyella both NRNB so not worried but would hope both would run.  Just can't see which two will come out to get Goonyella in!

More interested to know why Goonyella is nailed on to get in. Which two are coming out?

As for Buckers Bridge he was promising in bumpers but I don't think he has ever gone on from a very punishing chase debut. I would much prefer Goonyella if he was lucky enough to get in.

I will be amazed if two don't come out when the rain arrives.
Report tommy2 April 2, 2014 10:27 PM BST
I am from the Goonyella thread. Expect plenty of withdrawals, but only if the rain arrives IN TIME for Friday 9AM. Can see  plenty of after time NON RUNNERS, due to soft ground, which would be very sad. Have lumped on 10 OR LESS finishers as compensation. And, of course, will back Buckers Bridge should the Goon not make the lineup.

I take my hat off to whoever is laying this horse at odds greater than 100/1 as they must have balls of steel. He was beaten nearly 17 lengths by On His Own last time out but was conceding that horse 5 lb and as we know Willie Mullins thought the form strong enough to supplement his horse for the Gold Cup and he nearly went and won it. Buckers humped the quietly fancied Lion Na Bearnai 33 lengths in the Fairyhouse race and they remain on the same weight. OK he has to prove he gets the trip and can jump the Aintree ferns but off 10-10 the handicapper and the layers are taking a big chance imo.

can remember buckers winning a winners bumper at fairyhouse or galway and thought this is a superstar, really needs soft ground but deffo a danger if the word soft in the going description ! ive seen worse outsiders

I have only had two small bets. Bucker's Bridge and Last time D'Albain. I really feel this race is wide open and no result would surprise me.
Report dunlaying April 5, 2014 12:02 PM BST
I am given to believe that the charming Miss Hislop has awarded Buckers Bridge 5 bottles.

Not good enough on the day but went on the ground and jumped pretty well until he tired .
Andrew Lynch rode him well.
