The £1Million Challenge
Hi, today I have had a good look through all the cards and have side-stepped a couple of short-priced favourites. I know some people regard horses like QUANTITATIVEASING as 'picking up money' but I think that better value is to be found in Second Favourites and I have gone for a couple of likely suspects today.

I have backed BOTTMAN and LERIDA in the 2.05 at MARKET RASEN and the 3.55 at SEDGEFIELD for PLACE bets at 1.61 and 1.85 respectively. If they don't win then I am very happy to pick up a return and a profit if they only finish second or third.

That's all for my flying visit today. See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone.

A week of ups and downs last week. I suspect that many would have 'done their dough' with so many 'shock'results, so I am satisfied at having finished slightly ahead with a small net profit of + 0.61%. Some weeks I will win much more than others, which is to be expected. My Bank is now £1168.47 and my Win Target for this week is £58.42 which would see me end the week at £1226.89.

Today I have limited choice as AYR has been abandoned and I have gone for a very modest 1% PLACE bet on Number 9 PAINTED TAIL in the 1.30 at LINGFIELD. It's heavy going at Lingfield and Painted Tail is up in trip, so stamina will have to come into play and I am hopeful of the selection getting a PLACE for a 0.5% gain to start off the week.

In my email inbox I had a message from RacingUk about their new ICard Predictor service. Well I had a good look at it and I must say I am very impressed. I think it's going to be a great new tool for me to use in my daily search for good prospects. the web address is http://icard.racinguk.com in case you would like to check it out.

See you tomorrow.

Three out of five won yesterday, giving me a small overall profit on the day, so I am relieved to say that I didn't 'do my dough' after all.

LEOPARDSTOWN has been abandoned today, which is a shame as I was hoping to hit my target with a couple of bets there today, so it looks like I won't hit my target this week. Still one must soldier on and do the best we can. I have backed NAFAATH and GILBARRY in the 3.00 at MUSSELBURGH in the hope that the second favourite will win and provide a profit on the bet, and i have Layed the draw in the WEST HAM v BIRMINGHAM and CHELSEA v LIVERPOOL matches, and I'll be backing the draw at the bigger odds when a goal is scored, or closing the bets down for a loss in the 76th minute if no goal is scored by then.

Tomorrow I will give an update of this last week with my new Win target for next week. See you then.

Hi,
I made a small loss overall yesterday of just under 1% so no great harm done. Today looks like a Nicky Henderson benefit day but, although it's great to see good races with the likes of BINOCULAR and OSCAR WHISKY probably winning, they are not good betting propositions at 1/12 and 1/7 odds on!

So today I have gone for 'safer' options in the hope that I don't 'do my dough'. I have backed SCRIPTWRITER at Wetherby and CAPTAIN CHRIS and MISTER HYDE at Sandown in PLACE bets and I have had two WIN bets on WAYWARD PRINCE at Wetherby and on MAN CITY to win their match at Home against West Brom this afternoon.

My total risk today is 5% and I am hoping to make a profit overall. Saturday's are risky propositions at the best of times, so fingers crossed!

Hi everyone.

Well call me 'Lucky' but I had wins with GIBB RIVER and FREDO and INTER MILAN in the Football, twice, as I had a WIN bet on them and also used the Lay and back bet I told you about yesterday. I must confess to being a bit fortunate as FREDO was booked for 2nd before the leading horse fell and presented FREDO with the race and in the football INTER scored in the 70th minute - in the very nick of time - as the 70th minute is my cut-off time and if it had gone to the 71st I would have closed the bet out for a loss! It is good when things go your way.

I also played an 'ACE' at TOWCESTER! What's an ACE? Well basically I look for meetings where there are only a few races left and no favourites have won so far. I then do a quick check on the remaining races to assess the chances of the remaining favourites and then back them in a Stop At A Winner. BUNGLASHA LADY won for me in the 3.40, BINGO!

Today I have spent 7% on 7 X 1% Win Singles. I can share the horseracing bets with you today: CHEPSTOW 1.30, 2.05 & 2.35 Number 1 OUR FATHER, Number 4 JOIN TOGETHER, and Number 1 SURFING and at BANGOR in the 1.55 Number 10 WHOOPSADAISY.

I am hoping to make an overall profit today as I need to make another 3% before midnight on Sunday to hit my weekly target.

Bye for now.

Damn and Blast! Lost a bit yesterday due to the Bore Draw. Annoyingly it was my 2% 'weighted' bet aswell. Never mind only a shade over 1% net lost due to the bets on ADVERTISEMENT and BARCELONA winning.

I use a pretty good horseracing selection system and have given two horses for that today on my club line. Today I am going to share a Football strategy with you. In the SERIE A League in Italy BARI are at Home to INTER this evening. Kick-off is at 7.45pm .I have backed INTER to win at 1.5 and I have also Layed The Draw at 4.6 and it's this 'Laying The Draw' strategy I will share with you today. If you do this you need to pay close attention to the match becuase when a goal is scored you then Back The Draw at the increased odds to lock in a profit on the bet.

Here's an example: Last night I Layed the draw in the LIVERPOOL v STOKE match. It was 0-0 and I layed the Draw with £100 at 2.96 so my Liability if it was to finish as a Draw was £196. As soon as a goal was scored I then backed the draw for £37 at the increased odds of 7.0. At that point I had locked in a profit on the bet of £63 whatever happened. All you need to do is to calculate how much you need to put on at the increased odds to cover your original liability! Simple eh? Well the best strategies often are! Incidentally this was a 'private bet' of mine so unfortunately I can't count the profit on this record. There is a danger with this bet that a match could end 0-0 as in last night's ROMA match and in that event you have to have a 'cut your losses' strategy and mine is to close the liability down if a goal hasn't been scored by the 70th minute.

Have to dash - back tomorrow.

Hello everyone.

Handicaps eh? ILEWIN TOM did indeed win at 10/1 as UKRANIAN STAR and OPONCE ran shockers. But at least we had two PLACE wins and MAN UTD and ARSENAL both won their matches and as a result we had a Break-Even day.

Today I have given a PLACE bet on my club line for a horse running at KEMPTON this evening and I have had a couple of Football bets. I can share the Football with you today. In Spain ALMERIA are at Home to BARCELONA this evening. i have backed BARCELONA to win at 1.44 (1%) and in Italy ROMA are at Home to BRESCIA. I have staked 2% on ROMA to win the match at 1.28  My total 'risk' today is 4%

So Ciao and Hasta la Vista!

Hello again,

missed yesterday due to the site maintenance but can report a winning PLACE bet on YES TOM - came 2nd - in the 1.45 at AYR. I made £65.39 last week, which was 5.96% of the bank and the bank is now at £1168.73 following yesterdays win and we are currently at step 3 of 142 on our journey from £1,000 to £1MILLION.

Today I have invested a total of 7% of the bank on horseracing and football bets. I will share all of the bets with you today; Horseracing first. I have had two PLACE only bets as follows, TAUNTON 2.20 Number 2 KEKI BUKU, and TAUNTON 2.50 Number 7 SECRET WORLD - I got odds of 1.47 and 1.34 respectively. And in the 3.40 at FOLKESTONE I have backed Number 5 UKRANIAN STAR and Number 3 OPONCE to win at 2.92 and 4.5 respectively. Obviously only one of them can win but there's a good chance of that happening and if the favourite wins - which is UKRANIAN STAR then I will still make a profit overall. However it is a handicap race so I could get turned over by a 6/1 shot!

In the football this evening I have backed MAN UTD and ARSENAL to win their matches at 1.36 and 1.5 respectively. I staked 1% on each of the bets today except in the MAN UTD bet where I staked 2% on the Reds to maintain their unbeaten record and win the match.

That's a total of 7% invested today, so I am hoping I don't come a cropper and can make a profit overall. See you tomorrow.

Another Treble? . . .

30 Jan 11 12:31
Hi everyone.

SMUGLIN ran no sort of race yesterday and so we didn't get our treble. And SWANSEA lost at Home to Leyton Orient, who'd a thunk it? A small loss on the day of £19.56. Not to worry as it's been a tremendous week and we are well ahead at the moment. However I am risking a total of 5% of the bank today which would set me back a bit if I don't make an overall profit.

I have combined three horses in another Treble today and also backed them for three Win Singles. Plus I have had a Football bet. I will share the horses with you today; HEREFORD 1.35 Number 1 CUCUMBER RUN, HEREFORD 2.35 WILLIAMS WISHES and PUNCHESTOWN 1.50 Number 1 BIG ZEB. All well fancied and all short prices at around 8/15, 4/11 and 4/6 respectively. Still a 1% Treble which is £12 relative to the bank would return £39.63, plus the 1% Win Singles on each which will give us some compensation if they don't all win.

My total risk today is 5% including the Football match bet. Fingers crossed I don't suffer a 5% Loss! See you tomorrow.

Hi, well that was a nice Treble yesterday. Only the Place bets let me down. I also had a win on the Football with SOUTH KOREA winning their match against UZBEKISTAN.

Today is tricky stuff as Doncaster has been abandoned and the CHELTENHAM meeting is very competetive. I could rest on my laurels as we have made +£103.96 since Monday, which is almost double my target for the week, but I can't resist another TREBLE and a couple of Football bets.WILFRED PICKLES looks a shoo-in at Lingfield in the 12.50 and I have added SMUGLIN in the 1.35 at UTTOXETER and KINGS CROFT in the 1.55 at Lingfield for a 1% Treble - which is £12 relative to the bank which is now £1199.92. A successful £12 treble would return a profit of £19.13 if they all win. Incidentally we are now at step 3 of 142 on the mathematical route map towards the magic £Million.

I've also had two 1% bets on two Football matches: SWANSEA to win v Leyton Orient - kick off at 12.50 and BURNLEY to win against Burton - kick off at 3pm at odds of 1.47 and 1.37 respectively.

Tomorrow is Sunday and I'm not sure what's going on but I'll be checking for another winning opportunity and if there is anything going I'll update this Blog by around midday.

Cheers for now!
