Mugatpura's deffinitely got the bit between his teeth. Third winner in four (and the other a second) means he keeps a tight hold on the lead with a bank that now tops £10. The same runner also edges Herschel up to third.

The day's best score comes from madhatter, who wafts up to 13th with a 2/1.

Two 13/8 winners prove good news for three of our company: Caro Kann racing up to fifth, Sergeant Attarms following him to sixth , and general custer hitting 16th.

Shorties leave Darley Abbey down to eighth (but note his four on the bounce), Bill Watson charging up to ninth and Grunfeld up to 10th.
