A pretty good finale, if not quite the one expected! While the championship battle ended when our main challenger rather surprisingly sat on his hands, the battle for the places turned into a spectacular last-minute ding-dong, on a day when we added two more whackeroonis to the month's tally!. But first to this month's worthy champion, prodigal son N-east Correspondent. He fairly quickly got into his stride to hover around the middle of the park mid-month, but it was a thundering 33/1 just over a week ago that fired him into the lead. He never relinquished it despite a spirited challenge from his rivals. A thoroughly deserved title.  Our silver medalist is Herschel, with winners splattered throughout the month, notably a 9/1 and then a 6/1 that briefly handed him the lead. So close to the title: shame he didn't have a final go. Third place goes to our resident gangster MOB, who made a terrific last-day lunge for the line and succeeded with Treasurer at 3/1. But the definitive blow came on the 23rd with a humdinging 22/1. Wowsers! No surprise to see Lampus in fourth; his 65% strike rate, comfortably the highest in the division, tells the story. A model of consistency, hovering just below the places for most of the month before striking with triple winners in the last week. That's nice work Lampy.  But there was a big surprise with our final transportee, Imnotmean grabbing fifth in the final day with a bonking 16/1 on Fleetwater, just a day after bagging an 11/2. Like they say, timing is everything. Which of course leaves us with the double hard-luck story of Theresa Croude and JRAS unceremoniously dumped out of the places at the finish. Hard luck guys. One more thing we must celebrate is my great chum tictacman1's gorgeous 20/1 on Lady Bluebird. A shame it wasn't enough to get you up, ticcy, but g reat to see and I know you'll keep going as always. Superbulous. Got to say, that was a wizzo month. An exciting tussle for the top almost all month, eight ending in profit and four of them over £10. Hard luck to those who didn't make it, but without you it wouldn't have been a competition, so many thanks and hope you'll rejoin us for more grappling in July. And thanks for all your kind messages.
