Well done captain.
I hope to follow that example today. 3.40 Sedgefield Desertmore News Point run reads quite well. Bolted up on Rules debut at Southwell, easy lead and jumped very well. Immediately stepped up to Grade 2, but they went a million on the front end, and he was never comfortable. This is much more like the Southwell race, albeit under a penalty. Hopefully, he can dominant again, and it's just a question of pace judgement. He has been uneasy in the market 1/1-15/8, but that can change. |

Was hoping it would win a little bit easier, but nothing extra for the distance. Ground was probably a bit softer than ideal. Times would suggest there wasn't much good in that ground.

I am assuming we are down to 7? How hard is it to commit to one selection a week? This is just three weeks in.

Wanted to stick with the 'jumps', and there isn't much left this week, so didn't think there was much point hanging on.
Choice between the two bumper races, Stick To The Board who has a very solid point run and a 215,000 price tag, or the much more speculative, Affinitive. On the basis we need the points, I have gone with the latter. 5.00 Warwick Affinitive EW Currently a best of 10/1. Noticed the 14/1 that was offered a couple of times was taken quite quickly. The trainer has been slow to get going, but has had a couple of recent winners, including one for this owner. This has a much more attractive pedigree than the bumper winners she has produced since returning. McLernon isn't in the best of form, but I would still expect him to get the job done if the horse is ready, and good enough. Will be disappointed if it is not at least pushing for the place. |
|
By:
Disappointing. Travelled well enough, but having turned in holding every chance of winning found nothing off the bridle. Time will tell whether that greenness, or lack of a gear. Either way you might have expected more from a horse who was well supported 16/1-13/2. Stick To The Board won nicely, but was priced accordingly.

Well done (again) Captain. We haven't got much of a score either week, but in terms of points it could have been a lot worse. All still to play for. I think we should assume we are playing with 7 and share out the wild cards.
|

By:
Morning all,
Spot on DD.If we need the wild card pick then if you cd do it this week that wd be great.I still have had no response from makermemoney. I am going into hospital tomorrow for an opertaion so ive picked early this week as follows: Quick Quasar 16.40 Kempton 10 points win. I am hoping to return home by Thursday at the latest so im hoping ill still be able to contibute as normal. Will keep u posted . Gl to all with your selections! |
|
By:
Hope all goes well The Dragon.
Yes, do use a widcard as long as you need. Maybe we can still recruit, I think chavman offered to play at the start. |
|
By:
ok thanks -if we get a new player that wd be great
|
|
By:
Good luck with the selection, and more importantly, with the operation.
I will do the wild card if needed, but if someone really fancies two, quite happy to pass. I am likely to have a better chance with Aintree next week. This week probably needs someone who is more up to date with the flat. |
|
By:
Good luck with the op Captain
