Hi lads, thinking of an early pick again to try and bolster our points. The mare I am looking at is not a price I would normally put up here but she looks to have a great chance. Alibey 1505 hrs Fak has been 2nd 3 consecutive times in handicaps and goes here in the Maiden hurdle with Tabitha Worsley in the saddle again, she knows the horse well. The fav is trained by James Owen but he has had the horse less than a week and is fav on the strength of that and his lto in Ireland which imo is not strong form.
Alibey is only a 4yo and gets weight from the fav who unless prepped in Ireland has to be opposable given we probably know as much about him as his trainer does. If she stays at the 6/4 I backed her at or better I will probably put her up. |
|
By:
Fav is now odds on and the mare drifted to 7/4 so will put her up now as I may have to go out, just have to hope the betting stays similar and hope she wins of course.

Might need a lot of luck NEC, needed at least an 11/2 winner to win my most winners compy and had to wait until the last minute to make sure it was going to be above that, won 13/2 so the double probably less likely as we know how these bets go!! lol

Only just looked in, well done Captain 4 on the trot i think for you.

Had to shoot out just after the race, 10 minutes late in picking my OH up but ear bending did not stop me smiling at her. Shame the 13/2 wasn't the one but puts us in spitting distance of the lead for this week. A top two finish this round would put us in a really strong position for the final run in.

Great tipping Captain i will get my finger out for the final run in.

I backed Finlaggan two weeks ago, it ether did not like the Ripon track or connections kept their powder dry for another day. Ran well at Ponte the time before and looks a good thing back here with cheekpieces on first time. Win bet 4.48 today.

Drifting a bit, hope the money comes late. Yard has another runner, Thequietman. Hope it stays that way.

Very best of luck barstool.

Good luck Barstool, is John Wayne on The Quietman?

Didn't seem to keen to go past leader 1f out and weakened out of the frame, never mind.

Looked to have every chance, disappointing really.
Better luck to everyone else. |

Only seen replay this morning, either one paced or has an attitude issue, maybe both barstool. You can never tell if new headgear is going to have the desired effect so don't feel bad, i'm sure we have all experienced it.
As you may realise this is the penultimate round and scoring points really is crucial if we are to have a chance, that may sound obvious but going for what seems the obvious makes more sense than looking for big prices the way things stand. Another Saturday when winners were scarce last week and an example of having 2 in the same race backfiring when there was a non runner, point wasted for one team. We are only an odds on winner behind the leaders despite them having a 12/1 winner, and even though we have only 6 picks I suspect a few winners will put us bang there if this round reflects the previous where nobody has drawn clear. I would urge our team to avoid the guessing at Epsom, the Oaks and the Derby particularly, if AOB can't pick a winner, what chance the punter? In addition it is almost certain that the Derby is going to be oversubscribed with picks. Obviously up to you guys what you do but try a bit of tactical team thinking for what we need? As long as we finish in the top half this round we will be in a good position for the final and it could go down to the wire. |

Looks like nobody knew how to react to wonders winner? Stumped me tbh but a winner is better than no points in fairness and might end up being a valuable addition!!?

Rhoscolyn EW 5.50 Epsom.
Horses for courses one of the oldest sayings in racing, won this twice in 21 and 24, specialist distance of 7fs and specialist track. Softer ground should suit and 3lb lower than when winning at Goodwood last August, presume been aimed at this race again by O'Meara, hopefully can get towards near rail from 13. |

Well done Wonders.

Best of luck stew, looks to have been targeted. No worries wonders, as said , could be valuable and better than no points.

By:
Unfortunately that's what happens when they all try to grab the rail, nearly brought down then blocked again after being well backed, shame.
