Hi lads, please sign in if you want to take part in the team compy which starts on the 1st March and spread the word to the team. Hopefully we can have the same lads as last time so spread the word. I will be unavailable from the 21st Feb until about 5th March as no access to the site for that period so would appreciate any help in rounding the team up if not confirmed beforehand.
CagliariG forgot complements you on your win last week well done I do have a short list of possible choices today Fortamour, Ziggys Triton, Pole Star, Jersey Maverick, and Prince of India if anybody in the team is having trouble finding one to back by all means choose one of these It's because of the price I'm taking a big punt E/W Jersey Maverick at York Good Luck Lads

Good luck Billposter. We need some solid points chances today so no need for tilting at windmills, it could be that 2 or 3 winners would be enough to be in the top half which we need if we are to stand a chance overall. Back later but if anyone has a wildcard just in case, please post.

Montassib EW 3.05 Curragh. William Haggas has a great record at the Curragh with his older horses with 50% finishing in the 1st 2 last 5 years. Horse has had a blow out at Donny and should be cherry ripe today. Usually held up in the rear and comes with a strong late run which saw him win the Sprint trophy G1 at Haydock in Sept 24, hopefully Bucanero Fuerte will take them along at a good pace and Montassib can pounce late on, ground looks ideal. He's booked Billie Loughnane to have his first ride at the Curragh, have gone EW as will give us a few points if only placed. Good luck everyone today.

Also going to Salisbury this evening Dovey Moon in 6.15 looks a solid ew bet for me
Progressive last year he bolted in at Nottingham and Chepstow under similar conditions last year he wont mind ground drying out under today's conditions either, mark does look a shade high but likes to race prominently and could take a bit of catching under Marco especially with a few fancied ones making seasonal debut, never got into a position on seasonal debut but sp suggested he would need run and would have finished closer but for being hampered a furlong out.

Hi lads, well done in winning another round and I wonder if you are as surprised or even shocked we pulled it off as I am given how badly we played? Matters not tbf as a short head is as good as a distance in racing so winning when playing badly sums up the opposition in that round. We know it probably won't be repeated as any of the teams are capable if things click for them.
Anyway looking at the 1503 hrs Kelso which is as tight a race as you will find despite only 4 runners and a case can be made for them all. However I like The Kemble Brewery as I believe he is the least exposed being lightly raced, I don't understand why The Wise Eagle has usurped him as favourite given he is rated 11lb inferior and gets only 1lb from TKB.
The fly in the ointment is who will make the running between TKB and Impero who can also make the running and won the race last year, if TKB stays around 9/4 or 5/2 I may take the chance as I made him a 6/4 shot and hope he will make the running.

Only two rounds left and we are in a good position but it can easily all change overall if we don't finish in the top half this round. You lads must have noticed how dire the results have been on Saturdays? Fortunately for us the opposition have struggled as much but it must be obvious by now that waiting until Saturday is a disadvantage.
You are fishing in a smaller pool with more casting their lines and you can end up with 5 or 6 selections in a race, sometimes duplicated and often in the most complicated races. With just 4 picks each left it might seem late in the day to suggest having a go before the Saturday's left. Just bear in mind the above though and consider it could work to our advantage?

Sorry a bit short notice but Im going Luzon Heights ew in 8.20 at Sandown gradually coming to hand this season and while up a harsh 3lb for 2nd at Ascot hopefully the uphill finish will see Marco get his head in front where it matters going ew as 12 runners for the 1/4 odds place 1,2,3

I actually thought he did well to snatch 4th NEC, hot race for the grade. I needed Tom Marquand for my most winners compy yesterday which would have put me in Pole position, he jumped off at the furlong pole!!! It's a frustrating game at times but you have done your bit whatever happens mate.

No idea why but my post was referred to mods, getting ridiculous. Was just saying how frustrating it can be NEC. I needed the Godolphin horse at Yarmouth yesterday for my most winners compy, it would have put me in pole position but TM jumped off when leading at the furlong pole. Whatever happens you have already made a big contribution.
The only difference between this post and the referred one is that I put TM's full name in it, let's see if that is what was offensive to AI!!

Been struggling to find a selection with poor cards all week, except Sandown last night. Have plumped for Dallas Star EW 6.50 Down Royal in the 2m listed race. Thought ran a good race from the front lto before weakening in final furlong. Looks like a whos who of stayers he's been running against, Scandinavia, Leinster, Goody two shoes and Kyprios to name a few. Usually runs over 1m6fs but came 3rd in this race last year behind GTS later 2nd in Melbourne Cup and La Isla Mujeres who won next 2 races a listed fillies and a G3 in France. Expect will lead again and hope can hang on this time, just 1st 2 for EW but at least 1/4 odds a place.

Apologies for my poor selection last night, in hindsight don't know why i put it up really as had a few pounds to find with winner and 3rd, just didn't want to leave it until today as too much to go through and far too hot for me. Hopefully todays selections will be better, good luck fellas.

Hi lads, thinking of an early pick again to try and bolster our points. The mare I am looking at is not a price I would normally put up here but she looks to have a great chance. Alibey 1505 hrs Fak has been 2nd 3 consecutive times in handicaps and goes here in the Maiden hurdle with Tabitha Worsley in the saddle again, she knows the horse well. The fav is trained by James Owen but he has had the horse less than a week and is fav on the strength of that and his lto in Ireland which imo is not strong form.
Alibey is only a 4yo and gets weight from the fav who unless prepped in Ireland has to be opposable given we probably know as much about him as his trainer does. If she stays at the 6/4 I backed her at or better I will probably put her up.

Fav is now odds on and the mare drifted to 7/4 so will put her up now as I may have to go out, just have to hope the betting stays similar and hope she wins of course.

Might need a lot of luck NEC, needed at least an 11/2 winner to win my most winners compy and had to wait until the last minute to make sure it was going to be above that, won 13/2 so the double probably less likely as we know how these bets go!! lol

Had to shoot out just after the race, 10 minutes late in picking my OH up but ear bending did not stop me smiling at her. Shame the 13/2 wasn't the one but puts us in spitting distance of the lead for this week. A top two finish this round would put us in a really strong position for the final run in.

I backed Finlaggan two weeks ago, it ether did not like the Ripon track or connections kept their powder dry for another day. Ran well at Ponte the time before and looks a good thing back here with cheekpieces on first time. Win bet 4.48 today.

Only seen replay this morning, either one paced or has an attitude issue, maybe both barstool. You can never tell if new headgear is going to have the desired effect so don't feel bad, i'm sure we have all experienced it.
As you may realise this is the penultimate round and scoring points really is crucial if we are to have a chance, that may sound obvious but going for what seems the obvious makes more sense than looking for big prices the way things stand. Another Saturday when winners were scarce last week and an example of having 2 in the same race backfiring when there was a non runner, point wasted for one team. We are only an odds on winner behind the leaders despite them having a 12/1 winner, and even though we have only 6 picks I suspect a few winners will put us bang there if this round reflects the previous where nobody has drawn clear.
I would urge our team to avoid the guessing at Epsom, the Oaks and the Derby particularly, if AOB can't pick a winner, what chance the punter? In addition it is almost certain that the Derby is going to be oversubscribed with picks. Obviously up to you guys what you do but try a bit of tactical team thinking for what we need? As long as we finish in the top half this round we will be in a good position for the final and it could go down to the wire.
