good luck acey!
|
|
By:
Best of luck acey. Just NEC and Barstool to go now and need them to put points on the board to keep us in the firing line and boosting aceys score!! Joking apart it is a simple case of points making prizes for us if this is a typical Saturday i.e few if any winners from the other teams, a couple of scores could be all we need to keep us near the top half.

CagliariG I've got a horse that will tell you how old I am I do remember walking to
the start on a beautiful sunny day with Lester Piggott on Nijinsky Item E/W Good Luck Lads |

Glad to see the team taking notice of avoiding the Derby!!! LOL
|

Good luck if you are having a punt in the big one, the more I look at it the more complicated it becomes and the ground makes it more of a puzzle, where will they go in the home straight etc? Your bet could be a class horse Billposter but too many questions for me tbh, will probably have a late punt but smaller stakes than usual.

Got my eye on a couple tonight (shortish ones but odds against) but will keep the posting til nearer 3pm
to see what happens earlier with other teams selections then decide which one to go for both will be win bets though, fwiw I like Item in Derby so happy Billposter is going for it not a race I would have much on with ground likely a big factor wouldnt rule out a Joseph Derby/Oaks double either |
|
By:
Sounds sensible NEC, no idea why so many pick in the Derby in a normal year let alone today when even more guessing is involved, just read that Willie Carson said it was a coin toss when asked what he thought would win. He also said he is 100% certain they will cross over in the home straight, many imponderables.
|
|
By:
Actually at the moment it seems most have swerved the race, will be interesting if that ends up being the case come cut off time.

Good luck NEC, had another post referred to mods, just celebrating the Bay City win, AI obviously struggled with the lyrics of Shangalang!!

Have just had an ew on our lads picks and a rev fcast, anybody's guess about the ground and where they will go in the straight. Item would probably be best in terms of the compy as the leaders have also gone for aceys, have a feeling this has happened before? Best of luck to our lads and anyone who has had a punt.

Might be deemed a non runner wonders, nothing to do with the ground.

Fair play to PP, paid out on acey's with no deduction. Down to you now NEC if the other results go our way, could be a saviour!!
|
|
By:
LOL they have now adjusted the payout which is fair enough.

Cold Fish nonner obvs didnt like these wet conditions
!On fav now which appears likely to be Relentless Hero oh well wish I had gone for other one now or maybe not... ![]() |

Let us hope your sub does the job NEC, looks like we might get second place at worst but if the fav wins we could finish top depending on the SP and the Shrewdies final pick, fingers crossed. Even second puts us in a good position for the final round.

wouldnt have mattered if Probation had won 6/4 not enough to get in front of Shrewdies and they had an ew to go...

Sods law NEC, original fav was 13/8 and wins after drifting. Never mind though it will be ours to lose in the last round and even a couple of points will do us I believe.

Looking at maybe getting an early start again and the first at Perth is where I have my eye. Concerns 3 lto winners imo and the fav is only fav because of the Skelton factor imo. I prefer Flying Ace stepping up to 2.5 M, like Kibris and the fav Trigg he won over the bare 2m lto.
Flying Ace finished 4th over 2m 3f in Ireland before that win and also 3rd in a 3m PTP and I hope will be more suited by the trip than the other two.The trainer knows what is needed having won 3 of the last 4 editions of the race and the 3/1 seems a fair price imo, drifted a fair bit and will keep an eye on the betting nearer the off in the hope it stays around 3s. |
|
By:
Actually Flying Ace won over 2m 1f, not the bare 2m, so less of a stretch for him than the other two. The 3/1 is mostly gone and 11/4-5/2 more or less across the board now which is still fair imo and will probably put him up here if not shortening to less.

Going to watch the Cricket now so alas cannot post later when I might know more. Putting up Dannick in the 5.20 Goodwood. Course, distance, going, handicap mark all ok. Just hoping today is the day after a few quiet runs to get the mark down. Worth the risk at the price.
Good luck too CG. |
|
By:
Good luck barstool. Basically all we need this round is to score 2pts and we win overall, fail to do that and it still means The Shrewdies need to win. It is not a foregone conclusion but the odds are heavily in our favour, consistent scoring has got us this far so more of the same should do the job. No heroics needed and no need to think twice if you fancy a shortie even @ odds on so feel free.
|
|
By:
Have put him up as drifting again with 10/3 in places so unless late money we should get decent points if he wins.
