We almost had a grand upset on the final day. As it was we did end up with a slightly smaller but perhaps more significant one. So in the end it's a big well done to our Champion, Longshot Louie, just one quid short of a £50 pot. That was thanks to two scorching winners, a 33/1 at the start of the month and a cracking 40/1 in the middle. Shows you can make outsiders work if you put your mind to it. Of course the problem is finding them often enough to stay out of trouble. I'm keeping your seat empty LL! ![]() ![]() ![]() Mind you, but for 12 measly horse lengths he wouldn't have been champion today. That terrific competitor The Dragon almost spoilt the party by landing a 50/1 today to put him ahead. Twelve miserable lengths eh? that was how much it came behind the winner in second. Hard luck, but still, what a fight you put up - a shining example to one and all, with a 10/1 and 6/1 topping the list of regular scores. ![]() ![]() In third is competition stalwart GLASGOWCALLING, the final one of our leaders to end in profit. He put in a stirring final rally of four winners from six. ![]() Hearty congrats to bluenose7 in fourth, an 11/1 topping his three winners, and penzance, today's last gasp surprise. He landed a beauty, Lakers at 5/1, to race up a couple into fifth. Very well done that man. ![]() ![]() Which meant the day's second hard luck story was that of Treesome and, to a degree, halcyon days, both winners with shorties today. HD might have thought his little winner might have sneaked him into fifth ahead of Big Tee, as I like to call him, but tree's winner scotched that hope. But then Mr T might have thought not losing a point would have kept him safe until the pirate struck, meaning he had to take notching the month's highest strike rate of 42% as consolation. ![]() Hard luck everyone else, but thanks for joining in a competitive month. Without all you guys it'd be no competition and I really hope you'll come back for more in November. And, as ever, thanks for all your messasges. On to November's fireworks! ![]() | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
