A couple of winners, but no changes in positions on the final day. So, after an interesting tussle up top a week or so ago, it finally settled down to leave halcyon days as our August champion. A steady stream of winners around the evens mark was his hallmark, but two standout 15/2 winners sealed the deal, leaving him  with a profit of £9. Fine performance!

A big well done too to Flemski in second. The fact that he ends with the highest strike rate of 50% sums up his fine month.

Great to see competition veteran undecided in at third. When he really makes his mind up he comes up with some beauties: 12/1, 9/2 and 7/1 this month.

In fourth is one of today's winners, Kirriemuir, an odds-on today adding to his steady stream of scores.   And finishing in fifth with a real flourish - Lunanova at 7/2 - is another comp stalwart, raspberrybottom.

Not what you'd call a stellar month aside from the late battle at the top, with only two in profit. Let's hope for a few more scores in September. Hard luck to those who didn't make it but don't despair - a new month could change everything!
