If he does make it 8 then I won't want to reduce team sizes.

For me it's the best of the competitions. Allowing each-way is good, and only having to put up one selection a week means you have a pretty good chance of avoiding racing you don't care two hoots about.

CagliariG, thank you. Do you know if mitolo has said no? I'd think there's a fair chance scrabbler will show, usually see his name around Chelt time, so if he does that's your 8.

I'll be away for a few days myself between now and start, as I said I'll put the call out on HR for some new players.

Last time I tweaked the place terms for hcaps with 20 runners or more. (5 places).
I don't think there were that many such races to take advantage of and field sizes are only getting smaller.
Thinking of making it quarter odds 5 places across all races with 16+ runners, not just hcaps.

I think it best mitolo should look elsewhere. I've just discovered a thread from a couple of days ago where he names me as one of the  3 thickest people on the forum and suggests I should be thrown in a canal tied to the other two. I'm afraid I am suspicious of his motives so I will say thank you for your interest but no thank you.

We have our first full team of 8, so now that is the target for all teams.
I suspect we may need to trim to 6 teams but let's see how the next week goes.
With one or two uncertainties I think we are up to 43 players.

We have 7 as the dealer has rejoined. We had a buy-back clause. Waiting on Jinxy1,who is not posting but I think is in the Canaries. I would like to give him a week or so.

There are 45 confirmed, including custardcream64 who hasn't been assigned a team yet but wants to go with the Pins if shanelee is absent.

No shows thus far from Jinxy1, shanelee1966, exactaman, OilyWragg, qqking, chavman. Don't think ItsMeSwaddle or SontaranStratagem are on the forum anymore?
I have someone who may wish to join Racing Demons if qqking doesn't show.
So 6 teams of 8 is very achievable if The (three) Shrewdies are willing to transfer.
I'm away for a week, so if by next Wednesday we have 48 or fewer confirmed, then we'll go with the 6 x 8 plan.

Sounds like an illegal approach for a member of my team? I will be lodging an official complaint against the EW thieves as soon as Undecided gets back! It's one thing to steal favourable Each Way terms from the enemy, but quite another to steal a player from one of the most honourable & most highly regarded teams in the competition

Gravy Train has been cancelled & all our funds are going direct into salaries
We were concerned about the new possibility of losing existing players
We were saw the offering of a potential lifeline as a priority opportunity

I think ud will have to sort this when he returns.
I can't see us getting the 7 teams we had last time but 6 is now feasible. I would have thought some concessions will have to be made ( Sorry didn't mean to sound like Trump ).

Let's hope it doesn't come to that, Stew! If it does end up in the European Court, they might rule that Chewy wouldn't be safe and take him away from the both of us and give full custody to a neutral team. lol
It now sounds like Chewy has a decision to make. Does he stick with the one paced, slow jumping but very safe Shrewdies who already have mid table mediocrity all sown up even before the comp starts! Or does he go for the quick, bold jumping but can take liabilities with the odd one, but also knows how to win when everything clicks, EW Thieves?

1, I was only trying to keep existing regular(s) in a Team/loop as a priority   
2, Quite happy to try and approach guys who may just be interested
   but list of rules may make it sound like a bit of a chew on
   if they are already in other comps there is virtually no extra effort required
3, just hoping extra postings may just interest newcomers (aliases a bit of an issue)

If all else fails sure Ud will resolve
we could make the numbers up by nominating an on line/Newspapers Tipsters Nap of the day
as a default
or a different Team member have one extra selection each week, wild card type selection

In theory that team ( The Lucky Pins ) have already got 8. No sign of Shanelee but custardcream64 is in waiting.
undecided is back today. I'm beginning to understand how difficult all this is for him     
It looks as though we might have one or two too many for 6 teams but a long way short of 7.
There is still mitolo who may well want to play. He has issues with 2 captains ( whose teams are now full anyway ) but could be fine in another team.

Also needing to be placed are the numbers seven and possibly nawshan . As I think the Thieves are now full ( Stewpot has been recruiting on HR),we may not be far off getting a team together for the Shrewdies.
