Bit of a damp squib on the final day, with just the one shortie that didn't affect the final result. No change at the top.
So very well done to our newcomer no-wun-sun, who just edged to the summit yesterday and ends up just over £1 ahead of his nearest challenger. It was down to a sterling second-half flurry of scores, kicked off with a fine 14/1, followed less than a week later by a 10/1. Two on the trot this week sealed the deal. Fantastic effort.
Great to see longtime napscomp trooper hong kong fooey go back upstairs in second. For a while he looked on course to take the title after an 8/1-14/1 double whammy towards the middle of the month. But he lost his way a bit after that, managing only one winner at 8/1. Still, super stuff!
In third is Hale-Bopp from the swifty stable, who briefly occupied top slot after 12/1 and 18/1 winners mid-month. Again, he ran out of steam in the second half, managing just the one 17/2 score. Great napping all the same.
In fourth is bluebook, who periodically looked like making a challenge after a mid-month 16/1 set him off. But it was a bit too much in the end. Still made a nice profit.
As did our final promotee, our old hero tictacman1, who made his case with a 12/1 three days ago. Very well done gents.
Sadly, the top five, all with decent final pots, were the only ones to make a profit. Not even dukeofpuke, who had far and away the highest strike rate of 42%. Nearest challengers were on 32%! Hard luck guys, but you all helped make it an intriguing month. And finally, a nod to the day's only winner, sageform up to 12th with an odds-on. And thanks for all your kind messages.
