I did go out to watch Jenny’s race stewpot and was indeed a long way out the back but even so I was quite confident throughout the horse would still place.

Only one for me tonight is newgirlintown around 16/1 I thought was fair each way

Horses like zig zag ziggy and circles both have obvious chances but are priced accordingly.

In race 7 I did have a 2nd look at jerred maddocks who had become well treated before last weeks win but as I wasn’t at the wedding I don’t want to be at the funeral also the favourite there will take a bit of beating but again is priced accordingly.

Just the one for today captain I thought 12/1 prince of Rome was worth taking a chance with if 8 line up.

Just noticed it’s 40 on here incredible people want to lay horses at these sort of prices.

I suspect the sport is in the process of losing a worryingly high proportion of 'old faithfuls' 
I may pick up a little when the season starts up but wouldnt bet on it
I will probably just potter on but the books/publications I buy now have nothing to do with racing

Im  in the same boat as Dessie. Since covid  my interest has almost gone completely. Lucky if i spend half an hour a day looking at the cards. Most days i dont even bother to put any of the racing programmes on.  I know two other mates who were racecourse members for years, in the bookies every day
and have now packed the game in completely. Not sure if its an age thing (60+} or just the saturation of the sport. Good luck to you all. Stay healthy.

The one in the first stewpot lost a shoe during the race not sure how much affect that had the really annoying thing is I was between prince of Rome and  astrophysics who I backed over Christmas at wollybags when beaten in a photo the draw swung it in favour of prince of Rome.captain lucyfar did well to get so close as he pulled very hard early on.

g'day thieves i'll wade in today with one I was following in Ireland. Hasn't won in 25 runs but think it can definitely win on the aw at 7f to 8f. IMO should have won 1 already at Dundalk, possibly two. Its moved over here this year and I suspect a plot so I can't leave it at todays price. I have my worries about the jock BUT she has ridden it last run but one over (I think) a trip too far. So I've had a little interest EW at 40/1 on Sir Dotti in the 5.30 Newcastle. Stewpot you'll no doubt remember the name as I selected it a couple of times for the team last year. I'm CONVINCED it can win a race and I feel a bit like a lemming but this looks a fair EW opportunity today at a big price running for a crook
