I THINK only the Humbugs can catch the Tits...sorry Tips.. stewpot.
I worked out last night that if we won both rounds and they finished 6th and 7th we could catch them. So realistically the race is for 2nd tbh.
As the senior captains I feel we should be asking ud to carry out drugs tests on the winners   Devil

Hi guys
Well that wasnt even a below par performance, it was a disaster BlushBlush
but as Teamwork goes we all drowned together Cry
We had quite a few near misses but they dont count other than scoring as morale boosters
So lets bring our B Game to the table, dont want to raise our game too soon Mischief
We can save our A game for the second week
To be honest that 2nd spot is well within our grasp just need a little bit of consistency MischiefHappy

Enjoy your week guys
The only certainty of the week is EWThieves are up for it .....CoolLove

I was just quoting Ud, If I had been around a little bit more last week I could have backed them
that would have stopped them in their tracks
That second spot is a very worthy position to fight for your lads are playing wellWink

Its just comforting to know some guys on here are capable of picking winners at nice prices

In the good old days
the only racing days I resented were Bank Holidays
you had all those cards to go through Aaaaaaaarrgghh Cry nightmare
Heaven when you just had the two or maybe three cards a day
Now every day just looks like a Bank Holiday .... I just cant be bothered to keep up Sad
Maybe layers have a different view Confused

Oh well, not what we were hoping for, so many near misses.

I'm going early this week, don't want to prolong the agony Laugh

Ava Go Joe at York, needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort last time but still unexposed over 6f.

Good luck anybody playing today.

Sorry to say our early birds didnt quite take off
a change of tactics always worth a try
HKF will have mixed feelings after Zarguns run yesterday 2nd 16/1
after disappointing us 24hrs earlier Sad
Could have been a lot worse if he had gone in Shocked

Cant believe that Classic winner went off 11/2
that must have been some bad vibe from somewhere Confused

Good luck any players today

Well done Jimnast with your winner and unlucky Stewpot to be gazumped by one of George Bs finds at 11/1 Cry. We can but try Thieves!! Not for the first time other teams end up better off from our winner having gone Win only on it. Perhaps we need a rethink and should go win only on our selections for the rest of this comp in the hope of a change of fortune? ?

Lester Piggott

You won your first Derby
On ‘Never Say Die’
The new ‘Wonder Boy’
Catching the eye

Not long after that
Came success with ‘Crepello’
You were tall for a jockey
Nicknamed ‘The Long Fellow’

With three lengths to spare
You steered ‘St Paddy’
Around Epsom Downs
You were ‘the Daddy’

You looked beaten on ‘Sir Ivor’
The experts selection
But you timed your run well
With sublime perfection

The French they sent over
A few classy types
But on the brilliant ‘Nijinsky’
You destroyed all the hype

By a flared nostril you got up
To beat Rheingold on the line
Beneath you ‘Roberto’
Jaw-dropping sublime

On the French trained ‘Empery’
My tenner was on
You hacked up with ease
At a nice Ten-to-One

Next, you opted for “The Minstrel”
Despite it’s Guineas flop
It looked like Willie Carson on Hot Grove
‘Till you pulled out all the stops

‘Teenoso’ was a great ride
You traveled with ease
You kicked early for home
And won in a breeze

Throw in all the British classics
The St Leger, Guineas and Oaks
Thirty champagne celebrations
And a puff of cigar smoke

Thanks Lester Piggott
Your legend won’t cease
The king of the saddle
Maestro .....rest in peace

Its nice to be back, many thanks for keeping things ticking away Dessie
I see we find ourselves a little more adrift than is desirable Blush

I agree with what Dessie has suggested, a change of tack is needed and I agree with a Win only approach
We may well need two winners to rescue the situation or one blockbuster
Its been done before lets see if we can repeat the pleasure Happy
We can but try guys Wink

Morning Thieves, superb "Piggotts Poem" Pete, he was the master.

I'm all for win only Cap'n, in our situation we need to get winners and placed points won't get us anywhere unless we get eight which we've never looked like doing. At decent win prices of, say 4/1 upwards if our luck turns........

It'll be a fun end to the comp!!

Best of Luck everyone Cool
